I have a first gen Braven bluetooth speaker. It actually does have an 18 hour battery life. I have used it at work and it will run through 2 full shifts before it needs to be charged. There are better sounding bluetooth speakers for twice the price, but their battery life is maybe 5 hours. The sound on the Balance is much better than the first gen Braven I have. There are bass speakers on both ends of the Balance. The shape is better than the cylinder shaped ones because it won't roll off the seat in the car or boat. The silicone body helps it stick in one spot. What I really like to use this speaker for besides music is when I am using my phone in the car as my GPS, I use the speaker so I can hear the GPS. It works really well for this purpose. The only drawback I've found so far is that it doesn't have an easy carry case. I have not had occasion to test the water resistance of this speaker so I cannot speak to that.

I purchased this on a whim since it was on sale and I had some best buy rewards getting ready to expire. I've been really happy with it, whenever I'm doing something around the house, cleaning, reading, showering, ect, I can sync to this and rock out. It would be great to take to the beach or to the pool since it's waterproof. It puts out decent sound with solid bass. The color is nice and bright so it'd be difficult although not impossible to lose. Finally it's pretty portable, it's about the size of an average paperback so while you can't tuck it into your pocket unless you have JINCO's you can easily put into a backpack or satchel.

The sound is really great for a small speaker! I'm looking forward to blasting it outside and I'm pretty confident I'll enjoy the results. Love the look of the speaker as well. I've had some difficulty with Bluetooth pairing which is why I'm giving 4stars. When I press the button to pair it searches and does not pair. I've been going into my phone manually to pair it which works fine. My phone doesn't have pairing issues with any other device so I can only assume it's the speaker. Not a big deal since I'm going into my phone to select the music anyway. I would totally buy another one of these to keep at work.

I'm a portable Bluetooth-Aholic and have owned almost 60 Different Portable Bluetooth Speakers the past 3 1/2 Years and although the Braven Balance is NOT the BEST I've owned, I would say it's in the Top 5 or 6 and is a very Balanced and All Around Quality Bluetooth Speaker with Good Sound and Functionality, and a Nice Strong Battery Life.

Sound quality and build are good. Could handle a little more bass and volume but that's not a deal breaker. I use it when I go play golf, I'll just leave it in the back basket on a mid-low volume and play some tunes. Since it's waterproof I'll take it in the shower with me without worrying about it getting ruined. Nice out by the pool or even tubing down the river (a beloved pastime here in Texas). The ability to plug USB in the back and charge your device off the unit battery is great. Of course this will reduce the length of charge of the unit, but it's still nice.

Was looking for something that I could use mostly outside around the pool anD at tailgates etc. this product is pretty impressive for the money. It may not be the loudest of these type of products but it definitely makes up for it with the fact that it is very rugged, sound quality in the lows and highs are good, it can charge any device with the built in USB port and is nearly waterproof. Very impressed.

i bought this speakers cause it has really good reviews and supposed to be really powerful! well it he battery does last really long time around 18 hours and can charge your cell while you play it but the sound quality is not what I was expecting barely has volume with my iPhone via Bluetooth and the bass is almost inexistent!

Pretty good speaker. May not have the punch of some non-waterproof speakers but great sound none the less. I enjoyed tossing it in the water and not worrying about it getting messed up. When not at the beach or lake, I enjoy using it on my patio or when taking a shower.

Bought this speaker to use at cabin. Impressed by the sound quality and deep bass. Wish it was a bit louder, but would still buy again.

I purchased this for use on my boat. I wanted something that is waterproof and that has good sound quality. This speaker did both.

Did a lot of research and when I compared this to the Logitech Bluetooth speakers, this sounded better and was cheaper.

This speaker works as advertised, although I am still trying to find a way around the Bluetooth "one device at a time" dilemna, since I bought two speakers which "sounded?!?" like a good idea at the time. Ideas?

The only reasons i didn't give this a five star rating is the quality of sound could be better and a pass through output should be included. For the price it is fantastic.

It sounds good, plays loud, does not distort at loud volumes, but at 120, its a bit over priced.

Purchased this to stream music from my phone, while around the pool. It has awesome sound and is very easy to setup and use.

The sound quality of the speaker is great, but when I had first purchased it the color was not the color pictured on the case of it. I thought it was a darker purple, almost blue, but in reality it's a very vibrant shade of purple. In the end I ended up exchanging it for just a black one.

We use this on our boat and it has great quality sound.
