I have older parents and my wife and I have been care takers of them over the years. I really wished that they invented more of these devices back about 15 years ago when my wife's father was still alive. It would have made keeping in touch with him and doing wellness check much easier. Anyway. Let's get back to this device. This device is SUPER easy to setup and install. If you a little how to do TV and wifi setup it is.a snap. I did everything up until I had to call in to register the device and cut out the equipment set-up and all ahead of time. When I got the call from customer.service it took all but 15 mins to walk through and set the set top box up and the Android app all dialed in and I was in. After that setting up and using is super easy. At least to for me. Now with my mother in law that k goodness she knows how to operate a remote so she was willing to learn a new device. Some folks are not so nice when new stuff comes around. They get all grumpy and frustrated. So you need to be patient and all. Some cool features. 1 you can force a wellness check and force camera to turn on. This is a nice feature and all. Also setup via the phone app is nice. You can add contacts and all and do restrictions and all if needed. This is helpful if you have relatives that cause drama or try to manipulate the loved one. You can shut them out if needed. I am impressed with the product. It took all but 45ins for.me to completely install and get up and running. Video calls are nice. Super clear. No lag at least with my Internet connection it was fine.. Also CUSTOMER SUPPORT was SUPER nice and patient. They really are. Great job folks. Only had 1 wish list after talking with customer service. I wish I could be on video call a d.br able to control what is being watched or at least turn on the tve to a streaming show... That might be a future option. You never know. Anyway great product to keep in touch with an older person and all.

Since we moved out my mother’s house we visit her when we can but we do not message much because she is not tech savvy. Our mom did not grow up with smart phones or streaming devices but now we are able to help her out from far by using the Jubilee TV from Caavo, it is the perfect solution for that as well as staying in touch. I first took everything out of the box to check what was inside and it comes complete, with the Jubilee TV Hub, User guide, Jubilee TV Smart Plug, Web Camera, HDMI cables, IR Blaster, and extra accessories. I made the appointment to get the system installed and it was easy, Andrew helped me install it over the phone and it took thirty minutes to do so from scratch. I think my mom could have installed it with Andrews help. Once installed, Jubilee TV is easy to use, the notifications are easy to see and understand, and it shows not only what the notification are but also the options on what to do with it. For example when I send her a message, she can choose to reply or perhaps call and the buttons that appear on the screen have the same color as on the remote. Taking video calls, if my mother wants to call one of us, she can choose who to call and since there are big pictures with whom the person she is trying to call, it makes it easier to do so. And again the buttons are also easy to choose. The application was easy to download and install, and the invitation gets sent via email to do that. The app is user friendly and easy to navigate. Near the top I can choose to make a video call to my mother, auto connect video call and message so I can stay in touch with her and also my other siblings. Next it has manage all photos, I can upload photos and my mother can see them on her TV The next option is something else I like, stay in touch, it shows a calendar and I can choose for the app to remind me to stay in touch, by video calling her, send her a message or a photo, I also like personal reminders, if my mother does have to be reminded of certain things; the app reminds her of that certain thing. Favorites is just that, what are her favorite channels or programs Contacts; here I can see who got the invite and who has activated their account to stay in touch. TV Rm, this is important because my mother does not know how navigate with the streaming device I gave her, so I can control the TV to choose either a movie or any series she can watch without her taking a long time to find it. The last thing on the app is daily check in, if enabled, when she starts watching TV in her routine, she can see a notification with a big plus sign in green to let us know she has checked in, she does not have to individually have to let us know, the app lets us all know. Overall I like the Jubilee TV, it is a great way to stay in touch and also help someone that is not tech savvy like my mother, I like how easy it is for her to contact us and how easy it is for me to help her find something she wants to watch on her TV.

Let me first tell you about my mom and dad. My mom is a fiercely independent woman with a youthful spirit that rivals anyone half her age. The same is true for my dad, he has one very clear mantra (which he repeats unprompted at least once a day): "This is my home and I’m here to stay." I get it. Every wall in that home tells a story. They consider the house their hard-earned sanctuary. And while their determination is admirable, being an only child who stays so far away from them, it's also a source of daily concern for me. I have a constant flurry of texts to my parents each day: "Have you taken your meds?" "Did you get the plumber to check out the clogged toilet?" “Why haven't you shown your chipped dentures to the dentist?” It’s like an unending chain of digital worry beads that I thumb through every day. "We are fine! Stop fussing!" is what they usually say next after telling me that they are not moving. It promised autonomy for parents and peace of mind for us. And, honestly, it’s been kind of dreamy. No more pestering calls to ask if they have taken their pills; the reminder feature handles that. No more waiting to hear from them each morning? Now we all get a text when either my mom or dad presses a button on their remote. The easy video calling lets them connect with each of me, and my son, too. With all the features to support my parents, Jubilee TV inadvertently highlighted a gap in our coordination. While it’s great that my son loves his grandparents and can often jump in and help, there have been times when our efforts overlapped, causing slight confusion. We’d love a feature within the app that lets us communicate or at least view actions taken by others. A simple log or chat feature would save us from doubling up on tasks or reminders. Jubilee TV is a great solution for anyone trying to navigate the delicate balance between an elderly parent’s need for independence and an adult child’s inherent need to care. It’s allowed me to support my parents in their journey without being overbearing. While no solution is perfect, and there’s always room to grow, Jubilee TV has been a godsend for my family dynamics, and I look forward to seeing how it evolves further.

I don't know about the Jubilee TV. On one hand, it is super helpful with my dad who is about 80% bed ridden and struggles to even change the channel on his TV. The way the Jubilee is setup is he can program his favorite channels and access them with the touch of one button. He can call family, contacts, see the weather, and go in between different applications (i.e. live TV, webcam, weather) pretty simply. It comes with a corresponding app where I can see what's on the TV and control it remotely from the app. My siblings an also do the same, which is both helpful and a nuisance because I never know when they have come in to help with something my dad needs; its nothing major but if this device is supposed to make things smoother, it would help to have some sort of tracker for changes made. The setup was actually pretty straightforward and the customer service agent was super professional and helpful. I didn't know that I'd be video chatting with someone at setup --- wouldn't like to know that beforehand. Nonetheless, the Jubilee is a decent product that just needs some fine tuning and updating. My biggest complaint is that it comes with a monthly fee, and honestly, while it's a good product, I didn't find it worth the burden of yet another monthly charge.

We had the previous Caavo product and liked it but it had some issues. This new model is AMAZING. Also their customer service is AMAZING. You need to call to activate and setup the product. The agent that helped us was so patient, knowledgeable, and friendly. I think my elderly mother wants to add him to the Christmas Card list. He was so compassionate and easy to talk with. The product work extremely well. The iphone app allows me to login and video chat with my mother, change inputs turn things off and on. I was very impressed with how thoughtful they were in the design of the video chat function. It is easy for mom to call me and vice versa. You can also easily add video chat access to other family members. I have mom's hooked up to an AppleTV, Cable Box and an ChromeCast. It all works. My mom was very happy that she only had to use one remote. Do not hesitate if you have someone in your life that needs help with their tv and input.

A Dated Device with Lots of Wire

Wires, wires, wires… I’m unfortunately not excited about the Jubilee because it is an accident waiting to happen, the materials used to create the device are poorly designed. The company didn’t even go as far as printing the buttons on the remote. They are misaligned stickers all over and the actually Jubilee box is covered in ghastly stickers that I would not want to display in my grandmother’s home or mine. I honestly feel like this screams hazard from the wires coming out of every corner to the y plug included to use for the device and the smart plug. All of this feels unnecessary and poorly thought out. If you’re looking to help your loved one get this setup with ease be ready for a headache of having to stop the setup and wait for a appointment to set the system up so you can get a code. I came to find out that unfortunately they could only call me during the hours that I was working which is highly inconvenient. In 2023 most applications have a point of authentication to get set up done but this is one hurdle you cannot avoid. Between the underwhelming design, the poorly placed logos, numbers, letters, and words, and the awkward set up process I can’t in good conscience give this a great rating. I’ll sum it up that if this is a headache for me I couldn’t imagine this being simple for my grandparents or even parents. I do like the camera feature but that wasn’t a deal breaker either when there are other much simpler devices out there that accomplish this and more.

It's a good idea, but it has issues that did not work for us. We use Google/YouTube TV for our streaming service, and the control that you get with the Jubilee TV does not have a home button that works with YouTube TV. What this means is that as you're using the service, you get to screens that do not let you go backward in the screens, which forces you to use the original remote, which complicates using it. The unit also reduces the picture quality, notably softening the picture.

I never knew a product like Caavo Jubilee TV Extension for Seniors existed until I was looking for an easy solution for my mother-in-law to be able to make video calls, be able to help her with her Smart TV and lots more. Let me tell you more about this setup box and see if this is something your aging parents would love to have. First of all, the set up was not complicated as it may seem at first when you start reading the directions. It is just a matter of connecting everything correctly and the rest will be seamless. Also, I was very impressed with Customer support. Very knowledgeable staff and they will be able to walk you through step by step if need be, make sure everything works out as advertised and will even demo some features that you feel like will be the ones your Mom or Dad will be using. The whole point of this system is your parents do not know about how things work and how to get them to work: the remote is very easy to use, has big buttons. If you are thousands miles away from your parents, you will be literally able to switch the channel for them, turn on and off the TV, be able to make a video call and see your loved ones. Another awesome feature is you can send reminders to show up on their TV, for example it may look like this: Hey Mom, please remember to take your medication at 1:30pm or Please don't forget about your appointment with a doctor. I have also set up a way to display our latest photos, so my mother-in-law can view and enjoy our family outings. This is definitely a new approach to be able to take care of your parents from far but I believe it is worth it. It does require a monthly or yearly subscription in order to use the service. I would advise those interested to check this Jubilee TV by Caavo out, read the reviews and I think you will end up with it as there is nothing similar to this out there.

Watching TV has changed quite a bit since we were kids so I don't blame my mom for having so many questions about how to set stuff up or how to log into one of her many streaming apps. However the frustrating part is trying to explain what to do over the phone while not being able to see what is on the screen. Caavo has solved this problem with the Jubilee TV. In the box you will find the Jubilee TV box, 2 HDMI cables, a smart plug a power splitter. the power adapter. an IR blaster and a webcam. In order to setup the Jubilee TV you must schedule a setup appt which is quite simple. The setup appt is where they walk you through the setup step by step and then provide the activation pin.If you are comfortable with the process you can connect everything and stop until the point of entering the activation pin. The setup process is fast and friendly and allows you to have any questions answered. The purpose of the smart plug is only for Caavo to measure the voltage draw your tv has when it is on and off so that you can see that status of the TV remotely. The Jubilee TV has 4 HDMI inputs but I only used 1 since my mom uses a firestick 4K for her TV viewing. The webcam allows her to talk to her grandkids without fumbling with her phone or iPad and we don't have to keep telling her to hold the phone straight so we can see her. I love that I am able to mirror what she is seeing on her TV through the Jubilee app so now I can easily guide her through her technical issues. Mom also loves that we can send her photos directly to her TV and that my son can send her a message any time. Once great feature that is good is just in case mom is not answering us for some time we can check in her by autoconnecting a video call. You can also set-up a daily check in that works with your loved ones schedule. The included remote control is easy to use and the technical support phone number is on the back the remote in case you loved one needs to call for some help in using the Jubilee TV. One thing to not that a subscription is required after the first month but I would say that it is worth it if it makes your loved ones life easier. Overall Caavo has created a platform that can help you keep in touch with you elderly loved ones while helping them with their technological needs.

Keeping Loved Ones in the Family Loop Through TV

I can definitely see the use-case for a system like this. The unit requires a 30 minute phone call with a Caavo rep to setup your account and to offer a quick tutorial on how to use the system's features. My mother really likes the photo sharing feature and the webcam. Caavo succeeds in making potentially intimidating technologies like photo sharing and telepresence very easy for the elderly. In it's simplest form, Caavo is a one-stop solution for bundling your cable, streaming stick, webcam, photo album, and messenger app all on one of the most familiar devices in the house - your TV. First, let's start with the webcam. The resolution is fine for its purpose and both my mom and I can see and hear each other well. You could always upgrade the webcam if it doesn't work for your needs as it is just a USB device. The webcam includes a manually operated cover for privacy. I like that there are two options available for making a video call: One is a a traditional normal ring and wait for an answer and the other is a ring for a bit and then force answer. I could see the latter being use in more of an emergency situation. Second, there's the photo album feature. This is the most used feature and mom loves it. I just upload my photos through the phone companion app and she gets them in seconds on her TV screen. I do wish I could send video clips maybe in an update? For now, the photo feature will do. Third, the TV entertainment. The Caavo system uses a control panel/box that houses all your HDMI, USB, and network connections and feeds the connections to your cable boxes and stream sticks and is the brain of the system. The entertainment, webcam, photo sharing, and messaging is all nicely brought to together by the included remote control. It is a very well thought-out design and is arranged in a familiar layout for my mom to use to control it all. It's worth pointing out that the included cables are surprisingly very good quality and you are provided with everything needed to setup the system. The braided HDMI and HDMI extension cables are a very nice touch and something I did not expect. Bottom line is mom loves it and I highly recommend this intuitive entertainment system to keep up with your loved ones.

Just the perfect product I didn’t know I needed for the elders in my family. The remote allows for easy navigation with its large buttons and intuitive design. I think any seniors that are technologically challenged won’t have troubles using Jubilee TV. Even the initial setup was pretty straightforward. The app is quite user-friendly although it can use a little improvement with its design. The menu was easy to navigate and is accessible. Having the ability to remotely control the tv is definitely a huge help especially when I am away for work and won’t be able to provide immediate assistance. The video call feature that casts straight to the TV instead of using phones is probably my grandparents’ favorite. They have a larger view and won’t need to hold a smaller device. The voice control response is fairly accurate providing a seamless entertainment experience. In addition, I like that I am able to send them reminders through the app and ensure that they are doing well. I think that the subscription cost is a little expensive which might be a drawback but for any families who can afford it, those who need the convenience and relief that this product offers, I most certainly would recommend it. It simplifies a lot of problems into one tv box.

The Caavo system is very well designed with how it fully integrates with your home equipment and where it is installed. In the box, you have the system itself, the remote, and an included webcam along with all of the necessary items to setup and integrate with all of your existing devices. The system may be setup via Wi-Fi or directly wired. As your HDMI capable devices are plugged into the Caavo system, it will attempt to auto discover information about the device and walk you through the setup. While this has been very spot on, there is a manual option to identify the device you have plugged into the unit. As you work through adding your devices, it is programming the remote at the same time for use with the attached devices. The remote is nicely designed without being overly cluttered and scratching your head and is a nice size, similar to other SmartTV device remotes. The included webcam enables family members to easily chat with others without the need to learn something overly complicated via the simplified user interface. The user interface allows you to view all of your appointments, share photos, and control or set a check-in with your older family members, as well as control their attached devices via the Caavo app. Some of the items noted will need an active membership paid for monthly or annually. Which I’ve found the annual membership to be the better option. The JubileeTV app will need to be installed on each users device to manage and provide assistance when needed remotely, to make video calls, and to update or add to schedules, chat.

What it does, -Allows you to remote into a tv to help a loved one navigate multiple inputs, use their tv, etc. -Works with many devices (paired to DirecTV and Apple TV in my case) and only needs the one remote. -Super clean interface with no distractions and frills for those that need it. The walled garden on this is great -built in webcam allows for great flexibility when it comes to calling. -iOS app is fantastic in terms of ease of use and design. I used this to remote into the box and help someone navigate and get them to where they need to be -onboarding was fantastic and required (no fully DIY option that I could figure out). You can setup everything but you'll still need to talk to someone to activate service. What it is not -not UHD for camera quality (appears to be a lower to mid range quality camera -does not provide any programs and requires external equipment for that -installation for those unfamiliar could be overwhelming (call to setup an appointment to help configure is essential. All in all solid product and fits a very unique niche of being able to help parents with TV service while not nearby. Clear and clean interface is awesome but ends when using the interface of whatever device you are using (Apple TV, DirecTV, Roku, etc)

The Caabo Jubilee TV system is a groundbreaking innovation in home entertainment and communication, especially designed for the elderly. My experience with it has been nothing short of remarkable, as it seamlessly fits into various installation scenarios with all necessary components included. This all-in-one package consists of a Hub, Voice Remote, Web Camera, and Smart Plug, offering unlimited video calling, photo and video sharing, text messaging, and reminders. What sets the Jubilee TV apart is its exceptional ability to transform a television into a comprehensive connection hub. It's not just about watching TV; it's about staying connected and engaged with loved ones. The installation process is straightforward, and the Caabo team offers excellent phone support, making it an effortless experience. I installed it at my 80-year-old mother's house, who lives 1.5 hours away, and I was amazed at how smoothly everything went. My mother, who is usually hesitant about new technology, adapted to the Jubilee TV with surprising ease. The simple voice-activated remote, which is senior-friendly while still allowing the use of original remotes, played a big part in this. She can now easily switch between TV sources, including cable, Roku, and DVD players, with the touch of a button or a voice command. The Jubilee TV mobile app is another feature that enhances its functionality, allowing me to control her TV remotely, set reminders, and even navigate streaming services for her. Moreover, the video calling feature has been a game changer. It's heartwarming to see her smile in life-sized clarity on video calls, and the AutoConnect option is a great touch for effortless communication. The ability to share photos and texts through the TV has brought us closer, despite the physical distance. The Daily Check-In feature offers peace of mind, enabling me to stay updated on her well-being without being intrusive. The real-time snapshot of what's playing on her TV is a unique feature that has made troubleshooting a breeze. I no longer have to guess what's happening on her screen; I can see it and guide her accordingly. In summary, the Caabo Jubilee TV is more than just a senior-friendly universal remote or a communication device. It's a comprehensive system that bridges the gap between technology and ease of use for the elderly, fostering connections and ensuring peace of mind for family members. Its thoughtful design, easy installation, and versatile features make it an essential addition to any senior's home.

Jubilee TV is a decent device if your loved one doesn’t have too much dimentia. The device still requires quite a bit of interaction with the viewer/user. Hardware, cables , connections: It will require a cable box or streaming device that is published on their site. Hardware and cables are top notch and they have thought about every possible configuration that may need to be used. Installation: the company has a great install team, they do not need to come to your house, they just walk through the process with you and help you 100% of the process. Installation does take about 30 minutes, but is very thorough and will set you up for success. Video Quality: Really good video quality, easy to setup the camer, plug n play. Audio Quality: my sister said it was very easy to hear me and understand me without issue. Controlling TV remotely: You can use the app to control your loved ones TV when its needed. Calling: you may set the device to auto answer your calls if needed so monitoring is really good. Inviting others to call: You have to invite the contacts which is a rather painless process. Then your loved ones can be dialed from the contacts screen. Again your loved ones will need to make choices on their screen. Once accepted, things go very well. I am giving the device 4 stars since you can use other devices that don’t require a streaming or cable box to make calls with very little interaction with your loved ones if they have dimentia and not able to function well, they are still functioning but at a less technical skill level due to the dimentia. If they can use a regular remote and make phone calls then I would highly recommend this over a cell phone since you can monitor your loved ones, share photos, and send reminders to their screen.

My immigrant parents are from the generation from before color TV. They've worked their entire lives and the internet age has literally materialized before they realized they've grown gray. I am constantly on the phone trying to explain things to them over the phone and between the language barrier and their failing vision it is an exercise in mental exhaustion for both of us. Having access to see what they are trying to describe or read one of the best ways of being there while being miles and miles away. Everything came packaged thoughtfully and well labeled. I was surprised the cables seemed so beefy and appears to be high quality. Hooking everything up was simple and the instructions were very easy to follow. The Jubilee is an all in one solution which provides you everything you need in the box. An appointment was made with Caavo support to get the system setup. I was running late while stuck in traffic getting to my parents house. When the support tech called me; right on time, and asked me if it was a good time, I explained I was 20mins out from getting to my destination and he said 'no problem, we'll call you back in 30' so I can get settled in and setup. Sure enough, I got another call promptly in 30mins. Setup was simple and the tech walked me through the basic settings. All in took about 15mins to get up and running. The tech was patient and courteous and made a somewhat inconvenient need to have to talk to support operator pleasant. Pretty seamless setup and everything just worked without any drama. The cord was cut and my parents really only use a FireTV Stick but they don't always know what apps to look for when I recommend a show to them or they want to look for something specific. Being able to log into their TV and find what it is they want or maybe interested in is invaluable. The added benefit is that they can see what I'm doing as I control it so they can hopefully figure it out the next time. The interface isnt cluttered and is plainly simple for them to use features like being able to see the weather, watch TV or reach out to me or my siblings and see their grandkids on their larger TV as opposed to their small phone screens. Because the TV is hooked up to a good sound bar they can hear us loud and clear instead of the tinny phone speaker. I especially like the fact that I can call in, initialize a video call and activate the camera without input from my parents. So I can make sure they are OK. There is a shade that can be put down if they don't want us snooping. Although we have some other cameras throughout the house so it's not a huge deal for them or us. The call from the TV is loud enough to hear from anywhere on the second floor. The video quality is about what you would see from your average zoom call and the latency would be about the same. But it is definitely a great feature to have over just being able to control the TV. My siblings and I all have access now and we can check in or be reached from their TV to our phones whenever they may need us. If your not always around but still want to be there for your less than tech savvy loved ones, the Jubilee TV can help you help them with the added benefit of visual communication.

I remember when I was a kid my family getting my grandparents a digital picture frame that would download new digital photos once a day (and this was back in the days of dialup internet being king) and so when I saw that the Jubilee TV by Caavo would allow for remote troubleshooting of my senior citizen mother’s various tech issues with its built in webcam along with allowing my family and I to send my mother photos to turn her TV into a digital picture frame it was a no brainer for me that I wanted to get this for her. I am super happy that I did. You will need to contact Caavo to set up the system but if you even slightly know tech it will be a breeze. I was done with the setup call in less than 10 minutes because I had set up the system before my scheduled install call with one of their reps and only needed to get the setup PIN from the agent and have the agent walk me through a few of the various features we most wanted to use. The HDMI cables that they provide you feel like expensive, high end cables in the system and let you know that they took care in sourcing the materials that come with the system. The ability to do video calls is super nice and something that we look forward to giving a try in the not so distant future. All-in-all if you have a family member who is older, who you want to stay in contact with and who struggles with tech then this is definitely the item you need to get them for Christmas or their birthday this year!
