This movie touched me on a fundamental level. I’m still thinking about it and will probably continue to do so for a while. This is a beautiful film with stellar acting and gorgeous scenery. Northern Italy is the idyllic setting, and Elio is at the heart of this story. In comes Oliver, a twenty-something young man who is working/studying under Elio’s dad, who has a student live with the family each summer. Elio appears to not know quite how to feel about Oliver at first with his easy confidence and handsome American charm. Everyone seems to love Oliver, and Elio eventually realizes that his feelings are much deeper than the superficial friendliness that he’s probably harbored for his father’s previous students. I was astounded by Elio, at once sophisticated and innocent, yet confident about what he wants, once he accepts what that is. This is about first love in its purest form and beautifully acted by both lead actors. There is definitely sexuality/sensuality but none of it is gratuitous- the first fumblings of the act as well as the deep earnestness of love. There is some nudity and there are strong implications of various sexual acts. I saw this with my 16 yr old daughter and I didn’t feel uncomfortable at all, nor did she, as we discussed the movie afterward. For me, the beauty of the relationship transcends everything. This beauty is not limited to just Elio and Oliver, however, as Elio’s parents are amazing in their unconditional love and support. His dad’s monologue brought me to tears. It’s so full of tenderness and understanding. The friendship Elio has with Marzia (?) is also wonderful in its simple acceptance. I can seriously wax poetic endlessly about this movie. I can’t remember the last time a film moved me as this one did. I hope the actors and movie all receive accolades and recognition for their work, but especially Timothee. He is absolutely fabulous and it’s an Oscar worthy performance IMO. Whoever cast this did an excellent job since the chemistry between Armie and Timothee is wonderful, as well as Elio’s parents. I fell into this movie and stayed until well after the credits rolled. Bottom line, see this movie. Loved loved loved.

A timeless coming of age story

I'm 22 right now but this movie filled me with so many emotions that I felt 17 again. It's so relatable with how much naivety yet giddiness that you feel when watching. It is an LGBT movie (boys love) so be aware of that if you don't want to see that. I definitely recommend this to any young man who can relate/is discovering his preference and identity. I was already comfortable being Gay but this movie further solidified why I love being this way. This movie shows a love that blossoms into pure passion, it inspires us that we could easily have something like this someday. I cant recommend Call me by your name enough. I originally saw this on Netflix but it quickly became one of my favorite movies that I had to buy the blu ray. The blu ray definitely has better video and audio quality, any fan of CMBYN would love to see it this way.

So much negativity was said regarding the relationship between the two characters. He is 16 and the other is 24. The other guys is not that old. So enough for that. Let me just say if you are open minded and don't mind watching two guys fall in, this is a movie worth watching. There are coming of age gay movies out there, but this is one of the best. And in my opinion is probably the best one. It will be a classic one day. It's a beautiful film and deserves the nominations. All the main characters are wonderful actors and deserve their accolades. This is a movie that I will treasure for years. I am buying it especially because it also comes with the digital version.

A sale on the Blu-ray version of this recent release created an easy decision on what format to purchase. This movie was not in really wide release, but the reviews were very positive, as was the word-of-mouth. A few low moments, but the highs greatly outnumber. I'm glad that I made the purchase, as are some of my co-workers whom I've loaned it out to for their viewing. Very easy to recommend this movie to family and friends, although the age of the viewers MUST be taken into consideration. It is mature subject matter. If you buy the movie as well . . . Enjoy!

Ever since seeing the trailers for this film, I've been wanting to see it and I'm glad I picked it up given that I never had the opportunity to watch it on the big screen. This is a good coming of age film where whereby we get a sense of what it's like to be in your teenage years and experience love, heartbreak, etc. The cinematography is great too...btw, the mosquitoes are part of the film! If you're looking for a good coming of age film, then I highly recommend giving this title a try!

First off let me saw the soundtrack and score for this film is beautiful. The cast did a great job with acting. One of my favorite films of 2017. Wish I saw it in cinema when it first came out. Timothy Chalemet(might of spelled the last name wrong) was amazing. I sort of gained a crush on him as I watched his character on screen. Armie Hammer was great too. There chemistry is so beautiful. Ultimately the whole film was stunning. You do get emotion towards the end. Happy that I own it!!

One of the best movies I have ever seen. It makes you feel like you are experiencing the actors emotions first hand. Amazing work, it pulls you in and the story evolves so naturally. It doesn’t feel like you are watching a scripted movie, just an amazing love story between two people.

I have a hard time finding fault with this film. It filled me with emotion when I saw it in the theater and I've watched it twice since then and I still get hit hard with the summer romance and the tidal wave of emotion that comes with it (probably because I can relate to the whole summer romance thing).

Love Love this movie! I saw it in theaters twice and when it came out on Bluray I purchased it immediately. Great movie for those exploring their own lifestyle. Heartfelt, intense, and the scenes of Italy are beautiful. Love the relationship that develops considering the time period almost reminiscence for most

This movie really touched me. I've seen it 5 times. It's the story of young love and heartbreak. It takes place in 1983 and tells the story of Elio. a 17 year old that falls in love with Oliver, his fathers teaching assistant. The acting, directing, screenwriting, setting, and music are all brilliantly done.

Call Me By Your Name is a touching and sensitive portrayal of a young man’s first gay love. For a subject that is not seen in mainstream media very often, it is well done in a open and honest way. Well worth the price. A great movie with a great modern love story. Highly recommended.

Remarkable performances, a lush, beautiful Italian setting and remarkable, touching screenplay about a young boy's passion and first love for a man in an honest portrait of innocence and heartbreak, but a lesson learned in understanding that one's life moves on through eventual acceptance.

Between CMBYN and Love Simon, This movie has a more sophisticated feel. It was artistic and beautiful. There was a lot of controversy about it while it was in the theatres, but for no reason. Beautifully produced film for a mature audience.

The real difference between these two men is not their age but the wildly different relationship they have witth their parents. I loved watchig the two together but wish they had shared more than sex. Still its a must see, gay or straight.
