This is a classic romance drama movie remastered in 4k, I’d recommend this.

A wonderful coming of age movie about a young girl, in summer before going off to college. It takes place in summer 1963, before President Kennedy was assassinated, before the Beatles became BIG in the US, before Vietnam dominated the news, and when things were a little simpler. It also involves class struggle, rich vs. working poor. There is dancing (of course) and music, and personal struggles. I like the SteelBook case, classy. The onscreen chemistry of Jennifer Grey (in her best role, IMO) and Patrick Swayze is excellent. Without spoiling too much, “Baby” (Grey) gains dancing skill and matures from a girl to a young woman, learning of the real world. I have seen it before a number of times, but I am very happy with the clear upgrade from my earlier Blu-ray version to this 4K version, both video and audio wise. The video is not perfect (as many of today’s movies are), but where imperfect, it seems of a time with the 1963 time frame, a harmonious whole. Among the many extras are 3 music videos, including the incomparable “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life”, which is, in a sense, a summary of the movie, and the music of the movie’s wonderful final (music and dance) scene.

Wow, I have to say, this is the definitive edition steelbook for this movie. It is gorgeous, and although it is an older movie now, it shines as ever in this format. The music, the scenes, it's like watching the movie all over again in a new way. I really like it now. If you are a fan of Patrick Swayze from the 1980s, 1990s, I say get this edition soon. The artwork on the discs and the steelbook throughout is gorgeous. Well Done!! All special features have been brought over from previous blu-ray releases as far as I can see. Recommended!

I was really bummed when I missed out on this title initially. It happened to become available at one of my local stores this week! Ordered online as not to miss out again. Rushed over and added this to my collection!! The steelbook looks amazing with a sleek finish and a slipcover with the title and actors names printed. Bonus features include 2 commentaries (Writer) (Director and Crew), Interviews, Happy 30th Birthday salute, Music Video and more! I've only owned this on basic DVD, the movie looks the best I've ever seen with it's 4K upgrade! Grab this if you can!!

I was definitely disappointed in this video transfer to 4k. It was so grainy and not a great picture on a 90" sony television. The sound was alright, the packaging was great but not worth the price

Somehow, I missed this fine dance flick back in 1987, but I've made up for it now with several viewings. The screenplay and storyline of Dirty Dancing and the grooving music and awesome dance numbers are addictive. You wouldn't know that the film was on a tight budget because everything about this film is first rate. I never get tired of watching Dirty Dancing. The several hours of bonus materials is like whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles and a cherry on top of a marvelous production for those of us who just can't let it go.

So this was on sale; so I purchased the chick flick. I was hoping I wasn’t wasting my money. There were only 2 reasons I picked this blu ray up. 1) My female cousins watch it every year and they raz me for never seeing ‘Dirty’ 2) It was on sale. 30 years after its release in theaters, I watched it for the first time on blu ray. Man! I loved it! Yes, it’s a chick flick-but a guy can actually watch it, too.....away from everyone else tho. It’s not too manly to watch it with a group of people. It’s one of those movies u hide from everyone who looks through ur blu ray collection. Would I recommend it? I would on this site...but You won’t find me around my guy friends saying “Hey! Let’s watch Dirty Dancing” or say “You need to watch ‘Dirty’! Not gonna happen. But here, on this Best Buy site-I recommend it. It’s one u should add to ur collection..but u might want to hide it somewhere. Don’t leave it on the coffee table

I never saw the movie since at the time it came out wasn't all that interested but saw the 30th anniversary advertised on TV and liked the music so bought it. It's definitely worth it. Again loved the music, Grey/Swayze had great chemistry, story line was good and frankly hated to see it end. Well worth the time and money.

The movie speaks for itself. Its a period film that highlights what strange and different directions our society is evolving into, especially thematically. Then there is... Patrick and Jennifer... Music and Dancing... Oh, and the music... the sound specifically, in this version, is at its greatest quality. Worth every penny.

I own the previous Blu-ray release and I was happy with it. But the 4k Steelbook I couldn’t pass up. The 4k is nice; it’s not too much of a difference but u can see slight improvements. I’m happy with the upgrade; I recommend it but if you ya miss out on the 4k, u should be fine w/the blu

Dirty Dancing has been remastered in 4K UHD with a 24-bit Dolby TrueHD 7.1 and Dolby Atmos mix that looks and sounds better than ever. Comes with standard 2K blu-ray disc and digital code in a SteelBook case with see-thru slipcover. Only one new 12-minute special feature though so you may want to consider that if you already have the bluray. A must for Dirty Dancing fans.

The steelbook presentation is wonderful. The 4K presentation is a solid upgrade to all of the previous blu-rays. This look is the way the film was meant to be seen. What really puts this disc above all other versions is the audio. If you have a surround system, the soundtrack is a delight. It is incredible. This is not only the way this film should be seen, but it's also the way it should be heard.

I'm a big fan of this movie mostly because of the solid soundtrack. It's also a fantastic film with a great cast. 4k picture quality looks good for an older movie. Clothing and skin textures come off well. This 4k version comes with a Dolby Atmos audio mix and it does this movie a great service. The classic songs sound almost brand new. This is a very nice upgrade over the standard blu ray and this movie has never sounded better.
