Steven Moffat has lots of detractors for his run as head writer on DW, but I'm not among them and I love Capaldi as The Doctor, despite that occasional silliness with the guitar. I'm still missing Clara Oswald, but I'll have to get used to that. The Return of Doctor Mysterio is a pretty solid Doctor Who Christmas special, though not as vital to the overall DW saga as the previous year's special The Husbands of River Song (which is a must-see for fans of her character that want to see her tale come full circle). There are some obvious nods to Superman here with the character who unexpectedly acquires powers and it's good to see Charity Wakefield get some work after her. short-lived guilty pleasure tv action series The Player was cancelled. Nardole is alright as a new companion since his debut here, but I'm still not sure about Bill yet, who just started on the season 10 episode that follows this one.

Well, it's time again for a Doctor Who Christmas special and this episode delivers a Doctor Who fix for long-suffering Who fans waiting for a new season. I like Peter Capaldi's portrayal of the good Doctor, and apparently the next season will be his last?? So enjoy this special while waiting for the next season. Note: I deduct 1 star for rating only because of the piecemeal approach of releasing single episodes or partial seasons that the BBC has been doing for Doctor Who. I wind up buying the episode multiple times as I am never sure whether or not the Christmas Special will be included in the Season Set release? (That, and I can't wait with the long gaps between seasons.)

Another great performance by Peter Capaldi! He makes a wonderful Doctor and we find out some important information related to the movie The Husbands of River Song. This was a very cute and well ending Christmas tale. The bluray version is super clear as always!

Another excellent modern Dr. Who. The christmas special are all worth owning for you can not view the without paying for it. Not as exceptional as some of the specials, especially the 50th anniversary ones. But still worth owning if you are a Dr. Who fan.

My son introduced me to DR. Who and we have every episode. I look forward to every Christmas episode and this was one of the greats. I love super hero movies as well and this episode combined the best of both Dr. Who and super hero's. Buy it and enjoy!!!

My Family is a huge Doctor Who fans. I`m not a fan. I did enjoy this special it is worth watching and i would watch it again and it has mademme a bit more interested to the series. I use to watch the older shows going up. This is as good as those.

Love the one-shot "Christmas" specials. Have been a Dr. Who fan since late night channel 11. Knowing that this is the last season for Peter I needed to add this to my collection. Price wasn't bad, movie OK but a fan is a fan and loves it no matter what.

More upbeat Doctor Who Christmas story than usual; enjoyed the superhero twist; the guest characters were engaging & New York background was well done. Kids will enjoy this story.

doctor who meets a superhero. the Christmas special was one of the best capaldi episodes to date. mixes more humor into a entertaining story and gives some clues to fhe doctors future.

It's Doctor Who... Enough said... Drop the mike... Ok, this was another fun Christmas special with another appearance from the zipper heads and we get back Nardole!

The 12th Doctor is back after a year long wait with the 2016 Christmas Special. Its a fun adventure, that looks and sounds good on Blu-ray. Highly recommended for fans of Doctor Who.

I was reluctant to buy this single episode in hopes of seeing it appear on the season 10 blu-ray, but seeing as it's not I decided to purchase it, definitely worth the buy!

The doctor who Christmas specials never disappoint though this one is not as good as previous years it's still a lot of fun and a welcome return of the doctor!

always loved doctor who. since i don't have cable anymore, i have to wait for the videos. they are worth the wait. can't wait til series 10 (and beyond)

I love any show with a strong commitment to Christmas programming. The Dr. Who Christmas specials are an event my family looks forward to each year.

I am an original Doctor Who fan from the days of PBS WNET Newark NJ since 1971 and the new Doctor as portrayed by Peter Capaldi is excellent !

This was the 2016 Christmas episode of the Doctor. It takes place in America. Has a good the Doctor meets Superman feel to it. Entertaining and witty as always.

Great movie thoroughly enjoy dr who especially christmas episodes. Would definitely recommend to a friend or family.
