The Eufy E340 Video Doorbell is slated as one of the most advanced and user-friendly video doorbells on the market. As a discerning technology specialist, I had high expectations for this product, and it did not disappoint. The ability to run battery powered or wired makes it incredibly versatile, accommodating a wide range of installation scenarios. In my experience, setting up the doorbell using the Eufy App was straightforward, even without any prior knowledge of smart home technology. One of the standout features of this device is its person and package recognition capabilities. As someone who often works from home, I found this feature to be invaluable. It significantly reduces false alarms by recognizing familiar faces and alerting me only when truly important events occur, such as packages arriving or unexpected visitors at my doorstep. The app also allows for customizable settings, so you can adjust the sensitivity of these notifications to suit your needs. The video quality is crisp and clear, making it easy to identify individuals or package contents even from a distance. Additionally, night vision mode provides excellent visibility in low-light conditions, ensuring that you never miss any activity around your doorstep. The two-way audio feature allows for seamless communication with whoever is at the door, further enhancing the overall user experience. I also liked the bright lights that come on when it is recording at the bottom of the unit, it makes visibility around the door easier as I do not have a down-facing light near my door. Installation was surprisingly simple, as I was able to reuse the wires from my old school doorbell and the ring 1 I wanted to replace. This was an easy solution, and had I wanted to run it via battery that would have been simple as well. The Eufy E340 integrated seamlessly with these existing components (Such as the bell inside the house) and operated flawlessly after installation. I also chose to use the bracket to allow for a more forward facing view as my doorbell is perpendicular to my front walkway. Overall, the Eufy E340 Video Doorbell is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a high-quality, feature-packed smart home device. Its person and package recognition capabilities, coupled with clear video quality and easy installation process make it a top contender in the competitive video doorbell market. I highly recommend this product to both tech enthusiasts and those new to the world of smart home technology alike.

Great combination of features with 2K resolution, and dual cameras. Especially important to me is the 8 GB of local storage that means no monthly subscriptions required. I don't have to keep paying for this every month during it's lifetime. Also, with the wired connection I don't have to replace batteries at additional cost and inconvenience. Color night vision is a nice feature as well.

Easy to set up the door bell camera. And since I have the Eufy hombase 3 all videos upload to it. While the homebase isn’t necessary to record all your videos due to the built in 8gb memory. Its nice to double the memory with the homebase and add certain features. The video looks great. I get notifications directly to my cell. Best of all you dont need to suscribe to a cloud to see and keep your videos.

The doorbell works excellent. I’ve had it for over 6 months and so far no problems. Well, there was one problem at first. Due to operator error… when installing. I wired it in backwards which caused it to use the battery and started to drian. As soon as I switched it. It was good to go. Highly recommend. Especially if you are not wanting to pay for subscription.

I wanted to improve security on my new house and I didn’t want to get the traditional “Ring” doorbell because everybody has that one. Eufy (i think it’s pronounced ‘you-fee’) has been so easy to use and from my experience with it for about 3 months now, there has been NO BUGS, NO GLITCHES, and NO PROBLEMS. It is a little pricey but yall know the saying “you get what you pay for” and lemme say, I paid good money for a GREAT doorbell. Eufy > Ring

A good doorbell cam made better

Over 3 years ago I reviewed a Eufy doorbell cam that is pretty much the same as this one except it’s a single camera. It has worked flawlessly since I installed it. I have no reason not to expect the same with this one. Installation and setup was easy. Instructions are pretty straightforward. You will need a WiFi router and internet to use this device. The faster, the better. The same for setup with the app. You will need to set up an account to use the app and camera. In my case, that was done several years ago and all I had to do was “add device”. The doorbell cam I reviewed a few years ago came with the base and this doorbell cam works with it too. If you want it to. You have the option. One of the things I like with both is that they come with a wedge shaped plate-spacer that gives you the option to angle the camera a little to face the person at your door as opposed to it looking straight ahead and the subject to the side of the frame in the video. The doorbell cam can operate on a swappable rechargeable battery or by the 24 volts AC that powers hard wired doorbells. If you are powering the doorbell cam from where a wired doorbell was, you have the option for the doorbell cam to ring the wired doorbell or just ring through the app or optional basebox. You can link to Alexa as well. As for the app, you have many options for video quality, audio recording, listen / talk, auto switch to infrared at night, snooze motion sensing, familiar faces, notifications and more. You draw out where you want the doorbell cam to look for motion if you want. You can have it look only for people or any motion. There are sensitivity settings too, to keep down false trigger. Notification options for simply on your phone, to ringing a hard wired doorbell and optional basebox they call home box. One thing I like is that everything is stored locally on the device which has 8GB (expandable to 128GB via microSD card) of encrypted memory. No subscription needed, however, you do have an option for cloud storage too. If you add the home box 3, you can expand video memory to 16TB. The dual camera doorbell cam is a pretty interesting option. Especially if you’re worried about someone trying to evade a standard forward looking doorbell cam. A porch pirate could crawl under the line of sight of the doorbell cam and not be detected. Not with this doorbell cam. At my house, you have to climb steps to a landing and then turn to the right to continue onto the front porch. This doorbell cam detects people coming up the steps where the previous one did not. If you have steps leading up to your door, this doorbell cam is what you need. You have options for the camera’s night vision. Color night vision that uses white LED lighting on the top and bottom of the doorbell, automatic infrared night vision that uses IR LEDs and 2 white LEDs at the bottom of the doorbell and off. Off is no light emitted from the camera at all at any time. You can snooze motion detection from 30 minutes to 12 hours. If you have the home base, you can select to snooze motion detection or home base or both. If you have multiple Eufy cameras, I have 3, you can set app options for them up individually. That means snoozing 1 to say 1 hour, another to 2 hours and the third, not at all. Motion detection areas, notifications, video quality and settings and audio setting. Options may vary by camera. For example, my Eufy floodlight camera pro, that pans and scans, doesn’t support home base. Image quality is very good for both cameras. Of course, it depends on video quality streaming settings. As far as I know, it records at the best quality. The image is sharp and clear and the colors are punchy too. Shadows are pulled up in backlit scenes to allow you to see faces. You also have an HDR (High Dynamic Range) option if you have very high contrast scenes depending on the time of day. Say the sun is shining behind the person at your door. They would be a silhouette without either a light shining on them or image processing to brighten the shadows. The app has viewing options for split screen or picture in picture. You can pinch and pull to zoom and pan the video in both live view and playback. Keeping the camera lenses clean will keep your videos looking good too. Conclusion: I highly recommend this doorbell cam. I’ve reviewed other brands too, and I think Eufy makes some of the better ones available. I had to use their support on the floodlight cam a year ago. It was under warranty, they were great to deal with and they took care of it promptly by sending me a new one. No problems with it so far.

Subscription Free Doorbell with Great Features

If you're like me and tired of all the subscription based products out there, and want a device that won't lock your video recordings behind a paywall, but still give you all the features you need, this Eufy doorbell is the answer. I've now had several Eufy doorbells and I also have their floodlight cam. I cannot stress enough how much I love the fact that there is no subscription needed for this or any of my Eufy products. Eufy does offer an optional protection plan subscription which has some other benefits like monitoring, but it's not needed for just normal everyday use that you'd expect to get with a smart doorbell. So let's start with some of those everyday use features. As a doorbell, it does everything you'd expect it to. What's really nice about this version though, is that it'll work with your standard door chime or their homebase which you can buy separately. Or, if you're like me and have an older Eufy doorbell that came with a homebase, it'll work with that as well, which is how I have mine hooked up. As far as the video and audio quality goes, you can't get much better. Everything comes through perfectly clear so when someone rings you'll easily see who it is, and of course you can talk to them through the doorbell itself. There's no reason to wait for the doorbell to ring though, since this Eufy will detect motion and can alert you before the doorbell ever gets pressed. That's one of my favorite features of this doorbell, because in addition to that, it'll start recording video of the motion as soon as it detects it. This part gave me a good laugh actually a couple times this week. Twice one of the neighbor kids decided to play 'ding dong ditch'. It was amusing watching them come up to the doorbell in plain sight, and then either turn their backs to the doorbell or cover their face right before pressing the button, not realizing the doorbell was already recording them. The dual cameras really help capture more of the full picture too. The main purpose of the dual cameras though is to point one down low towards where a delivered package would normally be. This is yet another feature that makes this my favorite doorbell. Not only do you get a perfect view of any packages you might get, but the package detection software is a huge bonus. While not perfect, it's right way more often than it's wrong, and even then, when it is wrong, it's usually for detecting a package when there isn't one. Rarely does it miss actual packages. Best part though is it sends you a notification when a package is dropped off, as well as one when that package is picked up. This feature alone gives some peace of mind when worrying about porch pirates. Before getting the Eufy doorbell with this feature, I would constantly pull up live video to see if the package is still there, now at least I know it's still there as long as the 'picked up' notification hasn't come through. Not that it prevents theft, but at least it helps keep an eye on things for you. You can't talk about all these great features without talking about the Eufy app though, and I honestly feel like it's one of the better device apps out there. First of all, the one Eufy security app works with all of their devices. This means that with one app I can view either of my two doorbell cams I have in use (I put my older one on a back door) and my floodlight cam. It's also the same app I've had now for quite some time as even my oldest Eufy doorbell used the same app. Through the app you can easily manage all of the settings and things like setting motion zones, with the different devices having their own unique settings to manage. It's also where you'll be able to see all of your recorded video clips, which are very well organized and easy to navigate to older dates. This has even helped me with a home insurance claim. After my insurance company claimed my house sustained hail damage on a different date when I was insured with a different company, I was able to go back to that exact date and happened to have footage that my Eufy devices picked up during the storm, showing there was no hail at my home that day. Finally I should probably mention the setup and install. The entire process is really easy and the app walks you right through it. Having had another Eufy doorbell, it was an easy swap for me as the screw holes were identical. Only thing I need to mention is to not fully mount up the doorbell until the app basically says the install has been completed. Reason being there's a QR code on the back of the doorbell that you need to scan for the app to connect to it. Not that it's that big of a deal, but my old doorbell wires feel like they only have so much flex left before they break so I was trying to not put more stress on them than necessary. Having said that, this specific doorbell does also have a battery, so the wires aren't even required, except to connect to the chime unless you have their homebase. I really couldn't be much happier with this Eufy doorbell and their line of security devices. I don't have many negative things to say about them, if any at all, and am always recommending them to everyone I know. Plus the fact that you don't have to pay for a subscription puts this doorbell way ahead of the competition.

Easy Install, Clear Video, No Monthly Fee

The Eufy E340 video doorbell is a high quality product, easy to install and feature rich. Included with the doorbell is a flat and angled wall mount with associated hardware for mounting and electrical connection. The E340 Can be used on battery power only or connected to existing wiring, using the battery only as a back up. The doorbell is very attractive with a modern design. I have had other video doorbells, but what sets this apart is that it has dual cameras. A 2k video camera facing forward and 1080P camera facing down for package detection. It also has led lights facing upward towards a persons face and downward to illuminate packages. These lights can be manually turned on and off, but will always turn on when someone approaches your door when there is little ambient light. I am using the doorbell in battery mode. I have had issues with short battery life with other brands. After 5 days of very heavy use, (90 notifications and 81 recorded videos) trying out every feature and setting multiple times, I have 95% battery remaining, which is excellent. Once you have downloaded the Eufy app, installation is quick and easy. The app will guide you along. One of the most important features to me is that your videos are stored locally. You are not forced to pay a monthly fee for cloud storage, even though that is available if you choose. This is one of the very few brands that gives you that option. I have had another brand video doorbell, and after 2 years I could have purchased this doorbell with the money I was forced to append on cloud storage. This product is so feature rich and very customizable. You can have the video show in split screen with the person in the top half and the package at the bottom. Or you can show picture in picture with a full screen of the person and a small screen of the package. You can also invert that picture and the small screen can be moved to any corner. The doorbell is also capable of Familiar Face Recognition so that you know when a specific person is at the door. I have set the doorbell to work with Google assistant. I can see the live screen on my Google Hub Max or on any of my tvs by just asking Google to show the doorbell on a specific device. Once you bring up the device in the app you can see the number of visitors and deliveries that you had for the day. You can then click on events to see the videos. You can also set the doorbell to watch you packages and alert you if someone approaches the package. Video quality and length can also be customized, as well as activity zone, sensitivity and audio volume. In daily operation I found the doorbell to be very accurate and quick with notifications. Video quality is clear. The Eufy app is well laid out and intuitive. If you have a question, there is a chat with a bot, which I found very useful. If the bot does not answer your question to your satisfaction you will then be connected to a live representative. I am very happy with the Eufy E340 video doorbell and would recommend this to everyone.

Smart Doorbell with Impressive Color Night Vision

My experience with the Eufy E340 doorbell has been mostly positive. One standout feature is the Color Night Vision, which provides clear visibility of my doorstep, even in the dark. This is particularly useful during the holiday season when I have a lot of deliveries and decorations to keep an eye on, especially to prevent vandalism. Eufy's local storage option, as opposed to relying solely on the cloud, is a big selling point for me. The expandable local storage on the HomeBase 3 enhances this feature, allowing me to add a hard drive and increase storage capacity for several days of footage. I chose the hardwired setup to avoid dealing with rechargeable batteries during harsh winters. Installation was a breeze since my existing transformer was compatible with this new Eufy model. The added angled package camera is a thoughtful touch, enabling me to keep an eye on deliveries when I am not at home. These little details enhance the user experience. However, the Eufy E340 lacks Continuous Video Recording, a feature I enjoyed with my previous Eufy doorbell. While the human and animal detection algorithm captures most events, having continuous recording as a backup would be reassuring. Additionally, the mismatch in hole patterns for mounting the device was an inconvenience, requiring me to drill additional holes in my house. This was an oversight on Eufy's part. In conclusion, the Eufy E340 doorbell is a valuable addition to my home security system. It offers Color Night Vision, expandable local storage, easy installation, and thoughtful features like the angled package camera. While there's room for improvement, it provides advanced security and peace of mind, making it a reliable addition to my home.

    GOOD HARDWARE / POOR SOFTWARE

    |
    Tech Insider Network Member
    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

SYNOPSIS – While the Eufy 340 is a nice upgrade from Anker’s previous generation of doorbell, it is held back by the numerous false alarms in the Eufy software. EUFY SOFTWARE Anker, the parent company of Eufy, has done a fantastic job taking the burden out of setting up its line of Eufy devices. Whether it is your first device, or like me, just one of your many other Eufy products, the simplicity of setting up a device is top notch. Once you log in to, or create your Eufy account, actual adoption of the device is simple. Scan the device’s QR code, add it to your wi-fi (which is automatically added from your phone), the Eufy app generates its own QR code, scan that with the doorbell & presto. Done! Simple, Intuitive. HARDWARE INSTALLATION The E340 offers the installation option of battery power or hardwire power. If your existing doorbell and wiring work off anything from 16 – 24VAC, you can reuse your existing electrical wiring to provide continuous power to the doorbell and use the internal, rechargeable battery for emergency power outages. This is how I chose to install the E340. Anker has a slick interface to help ensure your new doorbell works with an existing mechanical or electronic doorbell. The app also walks you through setting up the chime with the Eufy, including any common troubleshooting issues you man encounter. Again, simple and intuitive. USE This is a nice upgrade from my previous generation Eufy smart doorbell. The most obvious change is that Anker has given this doorbell a 2nd camera that points downward, in addition the standard forward facing camera. The front facing camera captures people, the downward facing camera keeps an eye on packages and deliveries. It a great concept and like my previous Eufy doorbell, images are crisp and clear with resolutions up to 2k. The field of view is quite wide on both cameras and they have no problems picking up activity and packages from nearly any angle. One thing that is not as obvious is the increased processing power in the E340. Compared to the previous generation, this doorbell is much more responsive. Images and videos are accessed and decrypted much faster than with my previous generation doorbell. By my estimations, I’m guessing on average a good 50% reduction in latency and waiting. The increased processing power also translates into almost instant motion recognition. My old doorbell recognized motion, but the E340 responds much faster. This is especially noticeable at night when motion immediately triggers 2 white LED’s. A great addition and an excellent deterrent. NEGATIVES My only real complaint with the new Eufy doorbell is that the software doesn’t have all the bugs worked out of it. A prime example is the automatic package detection algorithm. While the software is great at alerting you of a delivery, if you don’t get that package off your porch right away, you get repeated delivery alerts. My spouse likes to put packages on the front porch for UPS, USPS, or FedEx for pick up. She placed 2 packages out one night for pick-up the next morning. Checking my phone the next morning, the Eufy app had sent me 24 package delivery notifications. The same 2 packages. Changes to the app sensitivity have failed to resolve the issue. Eufy offers a product called a HomeBase 3 that allows for some form of AI detection and that may help alleviate some of the false alarms, but the E340 is also supposed to have this included as well. FINAL THOUGHTS This is not my first Eufy product. I have used their products for numerous years and have been very satisfied. I like the fact that, unlike Anker’s competitors, you aren’t forced into paying a monthly fee to use your devices and view archived footage and images. Events, by default, are stored locally. Either on the device itself, or if you have a HomeBase 3, stored on the HomeBase for retrieval. Eufy offers a paid subscription service where your recordings are stored in the cloud, in case of device theft or damage, but does not make it mandatory to get full functionality of its devices. Thank you!! None of my other Eufy products report errors like the E340, so I know it is just a software and/or firmware problem with the E340. Anker has proven quick to squash bugs in its other Eufy products, I have no doubt they will do the same here. I still recommend the E340, but just be aware of the current limitations and issues.

    Eufy's Dual Lens Magic

What we should anticipate from a smart doorbell has been completely redefined by the Eufy Security Doorbell E340. I had been looking for a dependable video doorbell and was eager to test this one out. It did impress me, though. The E340 offers amazing visual quality with 2K HDR resolution. The dual lens technology makes sure that every detail is caught with breathtaking clarity whether it is day or night. I was astounded by how clean, clear, and sharp the footage was despite the low lighting. The E340's hybrid zoom feature is one of its best qualities. The doorbell truly shines in this situation. I was able to recognize persons or objects at a distance because to its capacity to zoom in up to 4x without seeing any apparent clarity loss. This level of specificity is revolutionary, especially if security is an issue. I was able to tell if the person at my doorstep was the mailman or a neighbor without having to squint at my phone anymore. With the hybrid zoom, it was really clear. Surprisingly easy to set up was the Eufy Security Doorbell E340. It was simple to do thanks to the supplied user manual, and I was up and running in no time. The Eufy app is highly user-friendly and enables you to tweak settings and get fast notifications when motion is detected. The doorbell connects smoothly to your home's Wi-Fi network. In terms of motion sensing, the E340 was remarkably precise. With built-in AI technology, it could distinguish between people, pets, and packages, decreasing false alarms brought on by moving objects like cars or trees. Another appealing aspect was the two-way audio. Through the Eufy app, I could not only see who was at my door but also talk to them. This feature came in quite handy, whether I was giving instructions to a delivery person or just letting a friend know I was on my way. This Doorbell's local integrated 8GB storage capacity is something else that makes it unique. If you have a eufy homebase, you may save an unlimited number of events for free while also having the option to keep video on the cloud for a little price. Eufy also ensures that your data is secure and confidential by using the most up-to-date encryption. The E340 is a stylish addition to any front entrance because of its sleek, contemporary, and incredibly robust design and high-quality construction. It didn't feel intrusive because to its thin shape and subdued branding. It's rather impressive considering Eufy claims a single charge can last up to six months. You can choose to wire this with your current doorbell arrangement if you want even longer battery life; I chose the wired option. Overall, the Eufy Security Doorbell E340 has elevated the bar for smart doorbells with its 2K resolution, two lens hybrid zoom, and a variety of other excellent features. It's a dependable, user-friendly home security system that gives peace of mind. The Eufy E340 is a great option whether you're wanting to improve your home security or just want a practical way to keep a watch on your doorstep. It's a wise investment that offers an additional degree of security for your house, your loved ones, and particularly your goods.

This is my second Eufy Doorbell Camera, but first one at my new house. I’m a fan of Eufy products, I also have the floodlight , outdoor cameras, and homebase setup…this Doorbell Camera definitely complimented the Eufy Ecosystem. I’m really impressed with how they designed this for package detection with a second camera. Not only packages, but if our dogs get loose, they will come back at the front door and this will let us know when they arrive. The install was very easy and straightforward, even for a non-handyman like myself. My old doorbell that got replaced was a typical old-school one, so all I really needed to do was add one more hole to fit the backplate while using one of the already drilled holes. The only thing that concerned me was that my doorbell was on the side of my door, at a perpendicular angle. I was worried that the view would have been cut off but they do include an angled add-on for the mount to help with this, and even though I can’t see my entire walkway, I still get a good view of who (and what) is at my door, see my attached picture. I fully charged the battery and connected it to my phone and network before the install, and did a firmware update. Connecting the device to my phone was as simple as scanning a QR code on the device. Then I connected the 2 doorbell wires to my Eufy camera and snapped it into the mount. You have the option to use built-in home system doorbell sound (ding dong) or you can use Eufy’s homebase system if you have one…multiple options are nice. The picture quality is nice and clear for both cameras, even at night. Notifications started coming through immediately. If you use their Homebase product it has AI detection and can store extra footage. It’ll recognize faces and you can label them by their name, but the homebase is not included with this product. I attached a photo of a person vs stranger AI recognition. Delivery Guard is another new software feature they are offering, I haven’t got to experience too much with it, but apparently if its enabled and someone is approaching a package at your door, a light and sound go off and even include an optional audible message to go off. Pretty cool options. My only issue I’ve experienced is that the doorbell does not seem to be charging by my home power and appears to be running off the battery even though the cables are connected and I am receiving power (test through multimeter). The home doorbell works and yet I don’t see a charging symbol and the battery percentage is slowly dropping. I’m sure this may be somehow due to my setup and is a user error, but I’m working with support now to fix this issue. Its nice how these devices get updated automatically as well, I received a message early this morning that my Doorbell camera was updated and it shows the fixes, good to know Eufy is constantly working to improve their hardware. Overall, I’m a big Eufy fan. Their cameras are simple to setup and require no monthly cost. I do wish they had an improved method to mute notifications easily in bulk. If our kids go out and play outside, each cameras they walk into goes off. I have to go into each camera and temporarily mute it. But I do feel confident in Eufy’s security and how well their AI has been working and do feel safer in my home.

I'll start out by saying I'm so impressed with the coverage of this Eufy E340 doorbell security camera. I've used and owned multiple doorbell security cameras, and this is by far the best option to not only see who's at the door but what was delivered as well. Thanks to Eufy's dual camera setup, this allows you to see not only your guest or delivery driver, but the package that was left as well. As the second ground aimed camera allows you to clearly see your packages, for the perfect peace of mind. The dual camera setup records up to 2K, which har great clarity to the footage to the day. Also infared at night with clarity for night time viewing. There's also LEDs for added light at the top and bottom cameras as well. I connected this to my 2.4 GHZ wifi, via the Eufy Security App, which took me around 20 minutes for the install start to finish. You can adjust the area both cameras monitor for motion as well as how sensitive the cameras are as well, I left mine at the default setting of medium. My favorite part of this Eufy doorbell camera is it has local storage internally, so there's no need to pay extra for cloud storage like most doorbell cameras on the market today. This model has 8GB built in for storage which should be more than enough for footage storage up to a week or more. Install is very simple and straightforward using hand tools for me since I previously had a Arlo video doorbell installed. At most you'll need a drill for making a new hole to mount the doorbell on its bracket, only 2 holes required, and this uses your original wires from a standard doorbell and interior electric wall mounted chime. There's no extra parts if you have a standard doorbell and electric indoor chime already installed.

I’ve had several different “smart” video door bells. All of them have had their problems. So far, this one is the best in terms of quality, responsiveness, and doesn’t require a paid subscription. No requiring a subscription really sets Eufy apart from the competitor. I know some of the other brands don’t “require” subscriptions but use is extremely limited if you aren’t paying. This is not the case with Eufy. Which I’m sure everyone can appreciate. Build quality is great. Its larger than I thought it would be. Its also the largest video doorbell out of all the ones I’ve had to date. Its not over the top large though, just something that I noticed. It doesn’t negatively impact the aesthetics of my home though. Installation was simple and the app provides step by step instructions. It took me less than 30 minutes to install and be up and running and that I was including the firmware update. I like the app; I feel it is designed well and easy to use. It has exceptional ratings as well. This is not the case for other smart video apps. I also like that it is responsive. Its fast when someone rings my doorbell, to open the app and see who is there. Other doorbells there is a long delay. So much so, I may never get to see who is there before they walk away. This is a huge advantage because it is a common struggle with multiple other brands. The video is also amazing. I have my doorbell hardwired so I don’t really have to worry about turning the quality features all the way up because I have constant power. The video is really amazing as is the audio quality. The reason for the 4 star instead of the 5 star, is I have been getting a good amount of false alerts. Mainly regarding packages. It will randomly alert me stating my package as been picked up and I don’t even have a package out for pickup. The opposite has happened as well where I will get alerted saying I’ve had a package delivered with no package delivered. On one occasion when I did receive a package, it got stuck in an alert loop stating I had a package delivered and then picked up over and over again and wouldn’t stop. This was very annoying as I couldn’t figure out how to get it to stop. Finally, I opened the app and cleared all the alerts and it stopped. I assume this feature will get better over time but for now, I feel it’s very much a beta feature with some bugs to work out. Overall, this is a fantastic video doorbell and the fact you don’t need a subscription service for this is amazing. I really would like to add a couple of the Eufy cameras and base station in this same ecosystem to get the overall experience and retire some of my other cameras. I have yet to incorporate this in to my smart home system which I will do soon but I’m extremely happy with the doorbell and feel it is probably the best choice on the market at this time.
