Great Freezer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We looked at several freezers & almost bought another brand, but decide not to after reading how horribly loud many thought they were. This freezer took 24 hours to get cooled down to zero when we got it delivered & now is about -10. We have had this about a month now and it is extremely quiet. We have it in our laundry room, adjacent to the kitchen, and keep the door to the room open all the time. You can't hear it running at all! It stores a lot of food & has shelves in the door that are able to hold a lot of items. The basket at the bottom slides out easily. We are very happy with this freezer. The only thing is, it's not Energy Star certified. All the Energy Star freezers were very loud, so to me, spending $8 more a year for electricity (vs the energy star models) is well work a quiet freezer.

I love the spacious room in this freezer, the wire basket at the bottom and the temperature control on the door....and oh yes, the automatic alarm that lets you know if the temperature spikes.

Don't know what everyone is complaining about with the "noise" of this unit. Yes, it has a fan that runs, part of the frost free nature of the unit, but it certainly isn't any louder than any other fridge/freezer out there. We couldn't be happier.

When the compressor starts you can definitely hear it if you are in the kitchen, but it is not too loud that would bother you. Overall nice value for this refrigerator.
