My ice machine went out on my fridge so instead of a new fridge I just picked an ice maker. The Opal is fast! I had ice an hour after set up. It has an internal changeable water filter that really improves ice flavor. It’s almost continuous ice output until the bin is full. I can program when it’s to turn off at night and start up in the morning so I don’t have to wait for ice. Your choice of setup for every day of the week. You can control the operation by Bluetooth with your smartphone. It has a water reservoir and a separate 1 gal side tank that gravity feeds as it makes ice and shuts down if it goes dry. There’s two of us using ice and I have to fill it every 4-5 days. The only improvement I can think of is making the ice bin colder so the ice lasts a little longer. But as the ice melts it drips back into the water reservoir and is reused for ice. No waste!

At first i had my doubts..... however theres no replacement for Soft Sonic Ice. My favorite healthy snack lol. This is a great investment for a cabinet top ice maker.

I researched before I bought this product & have been so happy with it. Fast producing ice & so easy to use. The ice is just perfect size & consistancy. It may be more expense than some of the others, but to me, worth every penny! If you like a good cold iced drink like I do, you will love & appreciate it like I do. Remember…….summers coming! Also I made my purchase from Best Buy. They are the greatest & have impecable customer service❤️ Go check it out as they have it on display there. If you are looking to replace your ice maker in your fridge because it doesn't make enough or you are looking to have the good chick fil a or sonic ice at home this is your best friend. We purchased this to replace our crappy fridge ice maker and it works wonders we have had for about three months and no issues at all. It cleans itself and is quite than any other appliance in our home. We have only put distilled water into it though so I am unsure how it would work using tap water.

As a family of 5, we go through some ice and our fridge just couldn’t keep up. After a bit of research, my wife landed on this ice machine and a month in, its doing great. The only thingbi would change about it is for there to be a way to refill the water tank from the top, without having to physically remove it.

Great ice maker. Kids love the chewable ice. App is easy to use and can quickly create/adjust schedules to make ice when needed.

The nugget ice you want. It’s a great ice maker. A pain to clean but in my opinion worth it. Stay consistent or this thing will break. Would recommend getting the protection.

Works well. Haven’t used the web available toner yet. Right now it’s in our wet bar in the TV room and is a little noisy to watch. Quiet TV shows next to it. We recommend putting in a noisy location like a kitchen or behind the door.

First, I genuinely love this ice maker, even with the issues I've had. I would recommend getting this ice maker, but I'd definitely have it replaced if you start seeing these issues. So, after about a week of use this ice maker began to just (seemingly) randomly stop making ice. After researching possible issues with this model, it turns out a known issue is the "switch" inside that detects whether the ice bucket is inserted can be faulty. For a few days we were able to get it to continue making ice by kind of lifting the bucket up once it was inserted but even that stopped working. What I don't understand is why the switch even exists. If I wanted to clean the bucket, I'd just turn the machine off first. Or, why there's no option in the app to override the switch or something. It just seems like such a useless part to essentially brick the whole ice maker.

Use distilled water. Do not use tap water. Use distilled water. It's like $2/week and it will save you so many headaches. I had an ice maker before this that failed in part because it was just junk, but also because we've got very hard water. I've had this machine for a few years and it still works and sounds like new, because it's only ever had distilled water in it. There's nothing better, this is the one, it works great and it is so nice to always have ice handy without wasting freezer space. It's quiet and it really just works. Easy to clean too. just USE DISTILLED WATER!!!

Works perfectly. No issues except when using a water filter inside the tank. Setup and cleaning is a breeze. Highly recommended.

We love this ice machine! It makes ice consistently and is very similar to sonic ice! This was a gift for the whole family.

Highly recommend spending the money and getting this machine. We had a cheaper Amazon version and I’m so glad we upgraded. We go through a lot of ice as a family and this machine makes plenty! It’s quiet, the nuggets are perfect, and we ALWAYS have ice.
