This unit works excellent, easy to set up, I can set a temp through my phone and see how its working.

First things first you do need a C wire. My old thermostat did not have one. You pop off the cover on your furnace and the C wire is clearly labeled on the board. Go to a hardware store buy 5 wire thermostat wire and ran it in 15 mins and cost $20. It's not rocket science. You can do it.
Google home app is fine. All my devices are on it so adding this to that app is better than using the separate nest app. IMO.
Very clean looking. I actually prefer the non mechanical setup on the hardware. The other models that twist etc will just break eventually. Also, you bought a smart thermostat why would you touch it???
Overall great product, hopefully it is as durable and lasts for years like non smart thermostats. Time will tell.

Love having the office warm before I arrive and being able to turn down the heat from anywhere if I forgot before I left. Easy installation and very simple set up that the app just walks you through.

I have two. One worked great no problems at all. I control the temperature at my grandmas house all from my phone. She constantly wants the temperature changed and this makes it so nobody has to physicaly go there every time. The second one I bought for my own house arrived with damage. The connection where the y wire goes was broken and wouldn't stay locked down and the system couldn't read it. Returning this week and will see how the third goes
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We’re sorry to hear that you received a damaged unit. We’re always here to help if you need further assistance with the 3rd device.

Easy to install, easy to program, and what an upgrade! No home should be without a Nest thermostat! And in the middle of the night when you want to adjust the temperature, there is nothing like grabbing your phone and the app accommodates your wishes to increase the heat or AC. The “snow” is really white-white, so if you have white walls you’ll be in perfect shape.

This is an adorable little thermostat that looks 1000x better than the old beige box. Setup is either easy, or very difficult. If you like to DIY and not pay for a “pro” install, make sure you do a lot of research before buying. If installation is not straight forward (my furnace has a 2-wire connection so installing a C wire is required) the instructions stop and google pushes you to hire a 3rd party installer. Finally my install is compete (with help from YouTube) and the thermostat works great. I wish they had better customer service.

I bought this using an energy rebate through our local provider (be sure to check yours as well) because I wanted to be able to use the thermostat away from home. It was easy to install since I had prior experience from another model.
I wish the side touch had a bit more surface for adjusting the temperature but that's a minor annoyance. The separate trim if you have holes to cover is also slightly overpriced.
The color stands out though and wouldn't hesitate to buy another one!

The best is a nice product but this model doesn’t actually spin like previous models I’ve owned. It’s more touch and swipe based. For my use case I have older people in the home and it’s more difficult for them. I didn’t return it but it’s caused issues.

Very happy with the performance of the device and the interaction with my smart home ecosystem. Price is high, but with the rebates from my town and state, it isn't much more than a typical thermostat. The main downside for us was two issues:
1 - we don't have a common wire in the locations our thermostats are located and can't use the adapter sold separately, so we had to pay an electrician to run new wire. The only reason for a common wire is to power the more hungry Nest. Not sure why they couldn't just include a rechargable battery or even have one as an add-on.
2- We have radiant hydronic floor heating in one room and this Nest is not compatible with the Tekmar control system which regulates that room. While I realize these are different brands and compatibility is not required, it would be nice if they could work a software patch that would allow the Nest to interact. The patch could be sold for a reasonable price with the proceeds getting split between the manufacturers.
One other annoyance is we wish we could set each thermostat to respond to individuals not being home. Currently if everyone isn't home, it will go into ECO mode and stop heating/cooling according to the temperature range you set. However, my teenage daughter has her own thermostat and it would be great if that one thermostat would shutoff the system when she left for work or school.
