The Geek Squad rules at the Southlands Best Buy. I have an old 2006 Dell tower which developed a power problem. It sat useless for over 3 years. I am a song writer. I had a lot of documents on that Dell which I had meant to recover for along time. The problems were with multiple hardware and software, and some issues effected others. The whole repair process was packed with excellent communication from the techs to me. I saw that the whole Geek Squad was great in taking proper time with each customer. There were 2 techs, one in particular, who made my computer recovery a special challenge to fix, and fix it they did. I recovered many hours of work thanks to the Squad. I would recommend them to anyone, anytime for their PC repair skills, knowledge, and professional handling of each individual customer.

The power supply on my computer fried, and I thought I was going to be in big trouble (fantasy football, school, work, etc., means I need my computer)! Even though my scheduled appointment was at 1pm, I was in town running errands (I live 20 minutes from my Best Buy), so I stopped by right at open (9am). The agent assessed the issue, made several recommendations based on my computer and my budget, and said that he expected the work to be done the next day. However, I received a call after lunch that my computer was ready! From an anticipated one day of work to only five hours! AWESOME!! I've had no issues with my computer or the power supply! THANK YOU GEEK SQUAD!

They put my computer together from parts I had. Was a little disappointed that they didn’t have extra screws and things on hand for the couple hundred bucks, but they did a good job nonetheless. They also identified a couple of potential issues to keep an eye on, which is appreciated.

I bought a new PC tower and quickly realized that I wanted to upgrade the power supply (because I'm a gamer and the basic power supplies are inadequate for a lot of graphic cards). I bought a power supply from Best Buy and had Geek Squad install it for me. They did a fantastic job. They even caught the fact that my existing Best Buy Geek Squad plan/affiliation (or whatever it's called) did cover this hardware installation to some degree (I think it reduced it to a small flat fee), which was something I completely overlooked and almost paid extra for it. I've used Geek Squad several times now for hardware installation on my desktop PCs and I've always had a great experience.

Geek squad was very helpful and awesome and was very good

My "mechanical" hard drive was not acting properly (I was able to back up all of my data luckily) and it finally failed to operate. Took my desktop to Best Buy and the Geek Squad look at it and determined it was "dead" - i.e. the disk had stopped spinning entirely. They gave me the option of a replacement mechanical HD or a Samsung - 860 QVO 2TB Internal SATA Solid State Drive. I went with the Solid State! Quiet, no moving parts, quiet, no heat - cooling fan does not run as near as often as it had previously. Geek Squad installed it, and I was back out the door with a repaired and improved desktop within the hour. Totally satisfied customer!

Extremely fast, zero issues with my installation!!

Honest, great quality, fast service. My laptop fan had become very noisy so I brought it in to have it looked at expecting that it would cost more than the laptop was worth (its old). The specific fan was not something in stock but tech told me how to find one, wrote down the information, and helped me take a photo of what I would need. I purchased the fan from another vendor then brought the fan and laptop back in. Was repaired quickly, inexpensively, and has worked great. Super friendly and helpful customer service. Highly recommend!

The support I receive from the agents at Geek Squad is top notch! Wow! They installed a new hard drive on my old Mac and it has a whole new life. I thought I had lost my data but they saved everything. Kudos to Shishir. I also purchased a new Mac they are helping me every step of the way. They are so friendly and knowledgeable. I was very impressed with the Geek Squad service personnel., from the front end, checking my computer and offering suggestions, to the sales associate who helped me pick out a new internal SSD and 8g of extra memory to be installed. The installation was done in a timely manner and completed as scheduled. Was kept informed of the progress and when it was completed and ready for pickup. A really great experience all around.

I dropped off my laptop, the ram, and the SSD I wanted geek squad to install, and I was able to pick it up the next day. No issue, quick service, and it works just as expected. Just be aware if you want them to install Windows and everything, that's an extra charge, but if you're like me and you can do that yourself, you just have to pay the hardware installation fee.

Best Buy help me order the right battery for my HP laptop. They did tell me would only be $25 to install but I guess they thought I was a member. It was $50 but better that they did it then me opening up my computer. There was no waiting.

The Geek Squad far exceeded my expectations. I had to have an laptop internal battery replaced and I purchased a battery from the Best Buy PartStore. The Geek Squad replaced the battery but unfortunately the battery itself ending up being defective. I then purchased another battery from the PartStore and Geek Squad installed that at no additional cost to me. Both times, the two different Geek Squad employees who installed the batteries did so in a timely manner thus allowing me to use my laptop for work on the same day or the next day. Additionally, the second Geek Squad thoroughly tested that the battery was working and also cleared out some error messages that were popping up (due to battery failures).

It was really quick. Firstly, they asked me to leave my laptop there for a day. But I was in a hurry and I purchased my laptop from the Best Buy. They did that for me within 20 minutes. I got some feedback about the SSD card I chose from the technician. I enjoyed it.

The Geek Squad at the North Anchorage Best Buy store were amazing! They fulfilled all that I wanted professionally, timely, and at a great price! I'll continue using their services and the products from Best Buy as well as recommending to family and friends. Thank you!

Make sure to ask lots of questions to ensure that you get the finished product you are expecting. I almost gave this a 4 star review because the desk manager I first talked to made claims which turned out not to be true. As I was walking out the door I realized that he was wrong and returned to fix my order. Turns out that the manager was new. An actual tech came out and hooked me up, even expedited the service for me. The Geek Squad guys are always pretty solid. In fact I often visit their desk directly to ask tech questions about potential buys. The sales people are fine but the Geeks can usually offer details on another level.

I originally came in for a battery replacement which I was able to come back the next day and pick up. A few days later when I went to use my computer it was giving me errors. I took it back to the Geek Squad where the team member spent an hour trying to figure out the problem. In the end the memory needed to be replaced but I appreciate the time spent to help with my computer even though the appointment was only a 20 minute appointment.

Very good experience being a member, it allows you to have your computer updated without additional costs
