Love this speaker, it sound amazing, blows BOSE away. The bass is pounding and it gets loud, the treble high and clear. I love the sleek and modern look. I highly recommend this speaker.

Here is the deal. I have purchased the bose mini sound link nice speaker packs a nice punch at $200. I took it back because I wanted a longer battery life and purchased the sound link nice speaker $300 dollars. I was in the store walked by the magnolia section and heard the the best sounding speaker ever for that size. It was the B&W A5 Awesome speaker. Problems with it though only works wifi or with a cable to the source No Bluetooth I have since purchased a Bluetooth adapter for $40. It also is not really made to be portable because it has no battery must be plugged in at all times. Which leads me to the Harman /Kardon Onyx. If I close my eyes sometimes I can be fooled in to thinking that I am listening to the B&W A5. Pros great sound. Large volume Bluetooth has a battery that says it can go six hours between charges. The real kicker is BestBuy is selling it right now for $199. Only cons I can see is it is not wifi and no remote but I can live with that. Turn down for what!!!!

Speaker is louder and sounds better than most in its class. Has great base and good highs and lows at all but the highest volume setting. Im very impressed and pleased with its sound. Its not worth $400 but you can get it on sale for $130 - $150. Cant go wrong with this one at the discounted price and its great for anywhere in or around the house. The battery life is shorter than the five hours stated by the manufacturer. Its more like 3-4 hours on low volume and less than 2 with the volume pumped up. There is no LED display so you dont know how much battery life is left, it just shuts off. I almost always have it plugged in so its not an issue for me. If you want a portabe speaker for around the house and out on the patio you cant beat this one. Especially if you get it for around the $150 mark.

This thing sounds great for the size and price (if you get it on sale). I demoed it at the store and was very happy with the bass and overal sound. It was plugged in and it took my a while to get around to wondering if it had a battery built in (no I didn't read the box carefully HD the spec tag on the shelf did not mention it. I actually figured it would have a battery pack thinking it needed a good power source to sound so good (especially the bass). I unplugged the power cord anyway and sure enough, it stayed playing! That sold me on it. I wasn't concerned with checking reviews like I usually do as we were out of town for the weekend (DMB concert) and needed tunes on the back porch of our hotel room. Yes it was an impulse buy and haven't used it much since but it sure worked for us that weekend. It played for over two hours unplugged but it came back in and plugged in before it died so no idea how long the battery actually last. It connects easily to devices and the controls are simple and easy on it. Of course we mostly just control it of out phone where the music is playing from. It charges at a good rate but I think it needs to be on to do so. I have not checked this out but we had it plugged in and turned off for a few weeks and when I unplugged it and took it elsewhere to use, it was dead. Unless it was a glitch and just would turn on for some reason other than dead battery. I plugged it in and then turned it on. The power button started flashing which indicates it's charging but that always does that for a bit when first plugged in and turned on so no idea if it was really dead or just some glitch. I highly doubt they would design it that way but I'll have to tat that some other time. We did use it during Christmas on the back porch surrounded by family and everyone enjoyed taking turns at putting on their own music. This version doesn't have the AUX input and can only play through Bluetooth so that is something to consider but who doesn't have Bluetooth these days. I believe there is a more expensive unit that does have AUX input through mini phono jack. The only draw back is not including or offering a case for it. The front dome shaped speaker cover is pretty tough so far so no worries about damaging the front speakers but just concerned about the rear woofer diaphragm, I believe it's a diaphragm to help reproduce the bass from the internal facing woofer so it's not directly attached to the speaker. It still just seems like it could be damaged throwing into the backseat with other things around it. I would like to have a form fitting soft sided case but I'll just need to come up with that myself. I would have gave it 5 stars but even though the sound is really good it's not the highest feddelity spund device I have heard. Also the "retail" price is way to much and of course BestBuy has had it at a discount right off the bat but it regally needs to found on sale for nor more than $100 to be a good deal. You also have to keep in mind that Bluetooth alone caused slight quality loss and that most all music coming from phones and small players are super comprised music files that degrade quality even more. To me this is good quick fix to get some good sounds that beats most of those tiny Bluetooth speakers that are only more popular because of their size.

Initially bought a Sony brick (SRSX3) because the HK at the crazy sale price was not available. When my store was finally able to get the HK for me at the sale price, I was able to do a side-by-side comparison in a quiet home instead of the noisy showroom. The sound quality was like night and day with the HK sounding fuller and clearer than the Sony. Does it match the quality of my Martin Logan Odyssey electrostatics? No. But for a portable sound i put this HK above anything else BB had on the shelf. And at a $250 price reduction,(yes I know it's because this model is being replaced), great sound at a great price does the trick. One drawback and the reason I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5, there is no mini audio jack like many other units have. Not a huge problem. But sometimes I prefer to use my archaic Sony Walkman mp3 as an audio source.

The speaker is very impressive and connects to blue tooth very easily. The sound is amazing coming from something so small and portable. The only draw back I found is that the battery only lasts an hour at best. Disappointing due to box saying way more. Even exchanged speaker thinking I got a faulty one, but had same exact result. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is due to the battery not lasting, other than that very impressed.

I bought this at the advertised "half price" gimmick in the sales ad. It is worth the $200 I paid for it but definitely not the $400 asking price. It gives great sound but has only a four hour battery life. It also would be great if it had an auxiliary output, which the new model has hence the sale on this one a model they are fazing out.

Pros: Speakers gets reasonably loud playing from Blue Tooth sources. Somewhat portable and highly recommended for picnics and camp fires. I'm happy with this unit at half price, it's not worth it at full price. Cons: No wifi connectivity, Blue Tooth is not the greatest sounding when it comes to streaming. Blue Tooth struggles streaming high bit rate Music files, struggles going through walls, and becomes choppy at 23 feet or so. Summary: Great speaker for the sale price, but if you already have a portable speaker like JBL Charger 2 (I own) or Beats Pill XL you might be disappointed in this unity considering the MSRP $400 price tag. I still use my JBL Charger 2 portable speaker the most, longer battery life, and similar audio quality and loudness without the heavy bass. I have only used my Onyx outside my home for demonstrations, battery life not long enough for social outdoor gathering unless the event has a plug power source.

Portable, easy to connect, overall good sound. Should have an input for aux equipment especially for the price. Design is functional and pleasant to look at. Find it on sale and it will not disappoint. Enjoy the music.

I love the sound i get from this speaker, it is full and pleasant. I have used the Bose and JBL speakers and I like how I feel about this one better. Size is somewhat of an issue as it is big and if you want to carry it around you have to deal with the legs which don't retract or fold, if all you want is to keep it in your house (like me) then it is very good, and is also aesthetically pleasing and matches modern furniture very well. Battery life is acceptable, i got nearly 10 hours of play at 40% volume, but i should note that at that volume it is barely enough to keep background music in a 10x10 room. The speaker is not as powerful as another one i use, it will not shake your windows but has a very pleasant sound that can fill a 30x30 room at an acceptable volume, but If you were to use it outdoors you'll need to be close to it. The other con i found besides the size is the lack of an input port for non bluetooth devices, which does not affect me, but may affect some users. Overall i'm very pleased with the purchased because i was aware of what i was getting and how i wanted to use it before i got it, and for that it is perfect.

I'm impressed with this product for the price. Awesome bass. Loud. Potable. Doesn't hold a long battery life if you're playing music super loud charge will last half the time. If it's at a min range volume you get hours of listening. Still happy with it because of the bass and it's hecka loud.

I loved my speaker... I was able to take it with me everywhere I went, the sound was amazing, quality was great.... the only thing I regret is leaving it on the charger when a storm hit and had an electrical surge hit the house.... I fried the battery....

Great product. After buying the Bose sounlink III and that Jawbone big jambox this speaker outperformed the three. Best overall sound especially at higher volumes. Even at a lower volume the HK was able to pick up on more sounds that the two above weren't able to or not as well. I tested all three with hip hop, jazz, rock, acoustic, vocal, EdM music and the HK was the best hands down CON: The battery life on the HK is horrible. It will Las ta max of about 3.5 hours at about 75% of the volume. Compared to the other brands the HK lags behind big time. It's definitely not as portable as it's competitors. It's big and big and pretty delicate.

Overall, I'm pleased with this purchase. This unit is a very good one for light to medium personal home use -- works great as a patio/backyard speaker. The sound is outstanding and consistent throughout the volume range. It delivers strong low frequency, noticeable mid range and crisp highs, with no distortion noted. My only complaints: on average, battery life is about five hours maximum; and, maximum effective distance/range from source is approximately fifty to sixty-five feet. I would buy it again -- especially when on sale!

I love this speaker, it has a built in battery so it's portable but looks awesome on a shelf. The sound is very good, great lows and really crisp highs. The Bluetooth has good range only reason I didn't give it five stars is bc of the lack of an aux port, the only way to play music is through Bluetooth which is fine in most cases for me bc I mainly use my phone but it'd be nice if I could use an old ipod if I wanted to. I just find it really weird they didn't just throw a aux port in.

I found that it didn't do what I wanted to and returned it. It wasn't powerful enough for what I was looking. Another annoyance was the lack of any other inputs besides bluetooth. That being said, it sounded good for a small wireless speaker. I'd recommend it over the similar Bose. The bluetooth connected easily and performed well. The battery was fair, I got over 5 hours on a charge...although the sound seemed better when plugged in.

I bought this based on a Best Buy salesman's recommendation without hearing it in the store. I was skeptical but was totally blown away with the sound when I brought it home. It sounded better than all the other bluetooth speakers at all price ranges from $25.00 to $400.00. I payed 150.00 on sale at Bustbuy. The only downfalls are that you can't plug directly into the speaker and I like knobs for volume control.

I have been impressed with this speaker so far (I've had it about two months). It sounds great, has some bass, and can be pretty loud. I'm not sure it lasts five hours on a charge though. Note: Be careful with this speaker as it is not invincible! I accidentally knocked it off of a table and it fell and broke one of the legs off on it (the plastic on the inside that attached the leg to the housing broke). If super glue doesn't do the trick, it will be hard to use it since it won't stand up now.
