We bought this vacuum yesterday because it was on sale for $99.99, marked down from $169.99, but returned it to Best Buy today. We were pleased to find that it works great and especially like that it's steerable, unlike most vacuums. However, we're disappointed that the brushroll is not height adjustable (it's "automatic" instead) and that's a shame. (Just in case, I called Hoover but was told there's no way to alter it.) We have a large, low-pile, natural-fiber sisal area rug in our living room and found that the brushroll had started fraying it. At first we thought it was our cat's hair flowing into the dirt cup but it became quickly apparent that the volume was too great for that to be. Because we couldn't adjust its height, the brushroll dragged on the carpet a little, enough to fray the fiber, so we stopped using it immediately. Again, this is a great vacuum and it's a shame that Hoover chose not to include the adjustable height feature, thus we exchanged it for a Hoover WINDTUNNEL 2 with that feature.

This four star review is by no means a bad thing. The vacuum has really good suction power, and the brush really pulls up pet hair well. It also maneuvers well with a turn of the wrist. I am sensitive to allergies and have used this a half a dozen times, and it hasn't affected me at all. I am used to pushing a self driven vacuum, though, so this not-so-heavy vacuum did still seem a bit difficult to push. Also, when emptying the container, I'd recommend going straight to your outside trash, as the dust goes everywhere. All of the pieces are easy to detach and reattach and, though they're plastic, seem to be well-made and durable. All in all, though, this is a nice vacuum at a very reasonable price.

Got this as a Deal of the Day and am very happy with this vacuum. Its slim and has good suction, also love the steerability. Only thing from a 5 star would be that you cannot adjust height of bristles.

I replaced my Shark Rotator with this. I really loved my shark, but the hose snapped in half in the middle, and started coming apart in another part. Unfortunately I bought it online, so I decided to purchase a new vacuum instead of sending it in under warranty. So far I really like this Hoover. I think it does a better job sucking up stuff than my Shark, especially on the hard floors. It's easy to use and light. The only thing I don't like is that I have to insert the hose into the vacuum in order to use the handle attachment, but that's it for negative attributes.

I do not know much about vacuums but can not say anything bad about this one so far. It's pretty light, good suction and has nice extensions which seem to be perfect for my apartment. I have a different vacuum at another home and it was lousy. Bulky heavy just OK. This was cheaper and far better.

I have purchased this Hoover about a month ago and used it more than once a week. It is very light and easy to maneuver, power is very good for both carpet and tiles. The most important and efficient feature in my opinion is the switch between floor and hose mode, this prevents the Hoover from spitting out through the bottom/brush piece what you collect with hose. Only con for me is the size of the canister, a bit small, but perfectly fine if you vacuum-clean at least once a week.

vacuum had wonderful suction and was very maneuverable and lightweight. My concern was it seemed very fragile. I was afraid it wasn't going to hold up over the long run. I would recommend only with a warning.

We wanted a lightweight vacuum cleaner that didn't take up tons of room. It does a great job picking up all the hair from our cat and large long haired dog. Great for the price, and easy to remove canister.

Great suction. The only complaint I have is the high humming sound it sometimes makes. Besides that this vacuum is worth every penny. My girlfriends aunt has a dyson ball and this swivels just as smooth.

I have more good things than bad to say about this vacuum! I bought it site unseen (only via online reviews) - so I took a chance. I like the size of the unit - not too bulky and very light. Great accessories - I specifically wanted the removable wand with the pet brush to clean stairs - works great - great suction. The only issue I have is with the spinning brushes - sometimes when going over thick carpet they'll stop because it's tough to get that wheel spinning. The ball that the handle sits on (similar to the concept that Dyson uses) is interesting as well - takes a bit to get used to, but is convenient.

I bought this as a replacement to a 4-year old vacuum. The vacuum has great suction, perhaps sometimes too much, and picks up everything in its path. The mobility of it is great, allowing me to clean both carpet and hardwood floors quickly and efficiently. The convenience of emptying the debris holder is great. The only drawback is that the cord is sometimes unmanageable when doing a smaller area; the cord is rather long and has no other option, sometimes, than laying in the path of the vacuum.

Purchased a new vacuum even though our old one still worked. This vacuum is much quieter and has great suction. The only thing that irks me about it is that the vacuum cleaner is not designed with features to house all the attachments that you can use with the vacuum cleaner. A bag is provided to store them, but that just means the attachments are never conveniently with you where ever you are cleaning when you want that special tool. I find this very strange.

This vacuum works good. Has helpful attachments also. The only things I don't like about it is its self propelled but still Alittle heavy if your not a strong person and the fact that if you want to use the handle you have to disconnect the hose and plug it in on another part of the machine. Would be more convenient to have a switch that turns the hand attachment on. But for the price suction is really good and I like the easyness of emptying the canister

I have owned and used the vacuum for about one month. So far, this Hoover Air upright is a sturdy and powerful vacuum for the price. It works well on both hardwoods and rugs/carpet. The canister is quick and easy to empty. I appreciate NOT having to buy and change vacuum bags as I have in the past. I would have rated it a 5 star IF it had a retractable cord and the attachment option was a little quicker and easier to switch over to.

This lightweight Hoover is very maneuverable. Has good suction to get everything off the floor.

The Hoover air is very good vacuum. I love the long cord, accessories and extraordinary suction but when utilizing the hand held attachment the suction is so powerful it does'nt allow the hose to extend to its limits with having to apply a strong tug and then then have to hold it with your free hand making this a 2 hand operation also when this is done the rest of the unit just falls over, it's not stable at all.

Thus far it appears to be an excellent, lightweight machine. The ability to turn the brush off and on, for wood floors, is great. Also love the lack of a bag, and the ability to wash the filter, instead of replace. Only negatives would be that their is no auto cord rewind, and the machine is somewhat tough to move around, when you're using the external attachments.

My Dyson animal went out and didn't want to spend the money for a new one. Purchased this one based on sales persons recommendations. Easy to maneuver but don't like that the attachments have to be stored in a separate bag.

Vacuum is very lightweight and is very appreciated when moving up stairs. Easy to navigate,easy to change attachments though I think the need to move the hose into a different intake valve is a little convoluted. Not a big hassle though unless you need to switch between floor and hose functions frequently.

I have 2 newfoundlands that shed a lot. It picks up the hair and dander better than my last vacuum. Gets up a lot of dust and easy to use. On the negative side, it squeals sometimes (not bad though), tends to fall over when using the hose and the pet attachment doesn't have the power I need to clean the stairs.
