The Hoover Steam Vac is just what I wanted and need. It did a very good job on my loft carpeting and the stairs. You have to switch to the stairs attachment, but it was simple to attach and easy to use and the stairs look as good as the loft. It doesn’t clean as good as a professional cleaner, but I am very pleased with the results. It’s been almost 3 weeks since I cleaned the carpets and they are still looking freshly cleaned. I am also pleased that the carpets dried very quickly, especially since I have two long-haired cats. It does a super job picking up cat hair. It doesn’t take long to assemble and it isn’t too heavy, which is really important for me as I am fairly petite. Although it isn’t recommended for tile floors, I tried it on mine. Unfortunately, the tile didn’t look any better. In summary, given it’s reasonable cost, I think it’s an excellent value.

I have this because my little pup thinks the downstairs carpet is also a bathroom. Had spots everywhere. Eventually broke her of that habit and now the carpet looks like it never happened. Used it every weekend for about 6 weeks now. Easy to use (no handle for carrying up and down stairs though which is the only negative). And considering the price to rent one this works great for smaller areas. I would get a larger tank if you have a large area or have to use it multiple times. Using it once in a while (even for larger areas) would be ok.

I bought this specifically to clean my living room carpet. This is the second Hover Steam Cleaner I have owned. And just like the first one I expect to get years of use. And after first use of this new one, I’m not disappointed. I purchased this house over two years ago. The first use of steam cleaner and the carpet looks like the day the realtor showed the house.

This carpet cleaner exceeded my expectations. It was easy to assemble, use and clean! The results were fabulous and the carpets dried so quickly! I have 2 dogs and 3 children and the carpets were stained and starting to feel a bit crunchy. I have rented a carpet cleaner before and was happy with the results. And had planned to rent a machine again but was waiting for the rainy season to end and then the dogs got sick and kept throwing up and so then I was waiting for that to stop. Then- I had an idea! Just buy the machine and you can clean up anything that comes up... best decision ever. Love the carpet cleaner, the results and the fact that I can use it anytime I need.

Very easy to use, and I was so surprised at the results. My carpet is old, and looked beyond help. High traffic areas were practically black. I was amazed to find that it looks brand new after going over the area a couple of times. I'm very happy with this cleaner!

When first opening it does not look as if it is worth the money, but looks can be deceiving!! I bought it because my hand scrubbing the carpet stains left by my dog was no longer working and the smell of urine was getting noticeably stronger. It is not overly heavy which I like and it was very easy to maneuver. The only flaw is that the dirty water container is not as large so it needs to be emptied alot but I didn't mind. The clean water container holds a good amount of water so I was happy about that. It took about 2hrs for the entire bedroom to dry and my carpet was nice and soft afterwards. When I walked back in the room I could smell the difference.

We were looking for a middle of the line product in terms of price and quality. After weighing our options and a persuasive sale price we pulled the trigger. Works better than we expected. Works better than our last highend model with half the price. Great buy at the price... we are happy.

So glad I chose this one over the more expensive models ! Very happy that it was so easy to put together ! Cleans with ease ! I have owned many carpet cleaners by far best one yet !

I have had a few of these, they work great, clean very well and cleanup (the machine) very easy. This one as compared to the others has a quirky dirty water bucket. You have to be careful to put the lid on after it's dumped or the gasket gets torn. Other than that, these machines usually last 4 to 6 years for average cleaning. PS Use the Hoover brand cleaning solvent, that works the best.

I bought this unit to replace a broken Bissell unit. I have only used it twice now, but can tell a huge difference in cleaner power. We have a couple heavy traffic areas that never really got clean with the Bissell. Now you can't even tell where the traffic areas are. The hand tool attachment is a bit more involved to connect, but definitely not a deal breaker. If you have pets or kids this unit makes short work of the messes they make.

This Hoover Steamvac is the real deal. It is very affordable and does a tremoendous job removing pet stains. Although it does not advertise itself as being specifically for pet stains it does the job of the more expensive models. Just use the pet max stain remover by Hoover with it. It is sturdy and well built in all aspects.

I bought this when our water heater sprung a leak and we had to replace it. Water went 20 feet out in the basement family room and I didn't want to have to tear it out because of mold and replace it so I ran to BB and got this the same day. It sucked up all the water and the shampoo cleaner made the carpet smell fresh. It does take time and patience to suck up a lot of water so don't expect to be done in 20 minutes or whatever. It took over an hour to suck all the water out of the carpet. Still, I am very pleased with the result and a month later we have no mold or mildew.

I used the carpet cleaner in my hallway and bedroom and was very satisfied with how well it cleaned my carpet I mean really cleaned it and I was amazed how dirty the water was and by looking at the water told the true story of what my old carpet cleaner was actually leaving behind even after shampooing it several times.

This works very well for my small house with old berber carpet. When my ex moved out and took her peeing cat with her, I was left with carpet I thought was ruined. I rented a steam vac, hired a professional steam cleaner but after a few weeks some of the deeper stains would always come back. This machine does the job as well as a paid professional with commercial equipment so its great to have on hand to go over every couple months as needed. Very easy to use and so far has not disappointed in keeping my carpets as clean as can be expected given their age and condition.

I have used this machine on a lot of carpet throughout our home. It did a great job. I sprayed the Pet Plus on some ink spots and it removed 90 % of the spots. When it dries I will spray them and hopefully they will completely be removed. I am still waiting on hoover for a stairway hose replacement.

Love this product - not heavy, not too big to store even in a small apt with limited storage space, and does light to heavy jobs with ease and totally positive end result. It was a bit tricky to assemble, but it really performs well on the scrubbing feature and wash water retrieval from application area. No extended (no walk over after use) dry time needed. I've avoided treated areas for 30 mins to an hour, and carpet reaacts just great! (ie, it bounces back to fluffy almost immediately, but as with all carpet washing, always best to leave fibers a little bit of time to recover completely before smushing down underfoot)

Easy to use and does a great job cleaning tough stains.

I am satisfied with this product. It was easy to assemble and cleaned the carpet perfectly. Even it dried it nicely leaving almost negligible moisture. I am happy with this carpet cleaner.

I bought this steam vac to replace another Hoover I had. It is pretty much identical to my old one in design and function. I got about 10 years usage out of the old one before it began to leak; I'm hoping the new one does as well. I've only used it once so far, and it behaved as I expected.
