    Bought this vacuum about 6 months because we thought our Dyson was too strong for our new carpeting - boy was that a mistake. This vacuum was a real waste of money and we are very disappointed. We will buy another Dyson now that we know how a well-made vacuum compares to the Hoover WindTunnel 2. Yes, you will pay more for a Dyson, but you get what you pay for. The WindTunnel 2 Rewind has a very nice retractable power cord feature which is about the only good thing I can say about it. This vacuum is cheaply made, 'pushes' dust around on hard floors, attachments always fall off, and it produces a burning smell after only running it for a little bit. It is a bag-less vacuum, but the suctioned dirt is not contained at all and just not well made in general. For a more realistic review assessment of this vacuum I would recommend checking out Hoover.com - I know I wish I had! ;>)

    I thought you can't go wrong by buying Hoover. I was wrong! I'm very disapointed with cheap quality and performance of this vacuum. I used to have Eureka for half price and worked SO MUCH better than this product. The small head sitting on handle is falling off all the time. The handle seems like is going to break in half (cheap plastic), vacuum makes so much noise and does weak cleaning. You have to vacuum over same spot multiple times to get it in. The vacuum doesn't come with tool to vacuum corners and vacuum itself doesn't vacuum close enough to the wall, there is about 2 inches that will not get vacuumed. Im not happy with this purchase, going back to Eureka products. Usually once people put their name out there and used to be good, then they cut off on quality and here is a perfect example.

    Good suction, but LOUD and messy

    This model can vacuum well, but we are returning it. This vacuum is so loud, my wife and children refuse to use it. In a small bathroom with hardwoods, it is unbelievably loud and truly to loud to use. Also, with no brush shutoff on hardwoods and tile flooring, it spits out small debris. Lastly, emptying the canister is filthy and dust gets everywhere. Sorry for the negative review, but wanted to share.

    The price was right and the reviews were pretty good. Easy to put together and picked up well. However, it is a pain to empty. The first time I thought I had gotten it too full. Then I just did a small area and still had difficulty removing the pet hair from the canister. It has a lip where it empties which holds the trash. I had to use my hand to empty it. My Dyson was easier to empty but you did have to be careful not to get it too full.

    I have had several Hoover vacuum cleaners over the years and had been fairly happy, however; I cannot say the same about this particular model. The pick up is fair but what I dislike the most is where the on/off button is located, also the rewind feature is not as smooth as others I have had in the past; sometimes it works fine and others it's a struggle to get it to rewind. So in good conscience this is NOT a vacuum I would recommend.

    A pretty good vacuum until it died

    I used this vacuum a couple of times per month in a small apartment. It could've sucked up the dirt better but it's the fact that it stopped running just over a year later that really gets to me. I thought it needed a thorough cleaning to fix it but it still kept powering off while still plugged in over and over. By the end it was kicking off all of the time and only blowing the dirt away.

    Poor dirt canister design

    The vacuum does a good job picking up dirt however it is a pain to empty the canister. Dog hair tends to stay stuck in the canister upon emptying which requires sticking one's hand in to remove contents. The canister is emptied regularly and before it is full and still it is troublesome. I feel I should shower after vacuuming. Not a good design in my opinion.

    Cord wouldn't rewind

    The cord wouldn't rewind. Looked like a design flaw. The foot pedal was supposed to pull a trigger underneath the cord spool but the pedal would slip behind the trigger. It ran good, but I took it back because the cord wouldn't retract. Might as well buy an old fashioned cord wrap style vacuum.

    The vacuum is very good at picking up dirt and cleaning carpets. I am very disappointed in the attachment hose. I don't have time to continually move the vacuum to clean around corners. I bought new filters for my old Bissell and have been using it. It was a waste of my money. I am not the type to complain, but you are seeking honesty. I guess I can always give it to somebody.

    I bought a similar Hoover Wind Tunnel three years ago. It was a better quality, sturdier machine.I'm sorry I sold it when I moved. Although the vacuum was lightweight and easy to use, it did not have much suction and did not do a good job of cleaning and picking up dirt. Staff at the store was very helpful.

    we have purchased many of the same brands / models over the years and we have seen an alarming downward trend. Example - the wheels have become very cheap. A switch that used to be on the extended handle is now on near the base (to save how many hundredths of a penny?)

    This was a great vacuum for about 10 months. Then it would overheat after 10 mins of use and shut off. It became uncomfortably noisy. Lost all suction. I have contacted Hoover in regards to the warranty but have not yet heard back. Good luck if you purchase this.

      Hi DeniseA! If the vacuum started shutting off then lost all suction I have am idea of what exactly happened. Your WindTunnel 2 has a clog and/or dirty filters. When there is a dirty filter or clog, it blocks the air path which causes the motor to work twice as hard to do it's job. It will cause the unit to make a loud noise and not pick up. Here are a few tips I find very helpful. Remove both ends of the hose off the vacuum. Run a broomstick handle through hose to remove any clogs. Remove the primary filter located in the dirt cup lid, rinse under warm running water. Let filter air dry for 24 hrs. Make sure the brushes are spinning as well. Hope this helps!

    Exactly 2 years completed today and it stopped working suddenly without any reason. For two years, it worked fine. I am not sure about Hoover warranty or guarantee but just two years work does not seem to be right for this brand.

    I purchased this vacuum cleaner because it was low cost and was only used as a secondary unit. While it is a good value, I returned this item and purchased a more expensive unit. This unit did not work well for me and I was not pleased with its power.

    Not very happy at all with this vacuum. Doesn't really pick up trash/dust/crumbs that great especially in carpet. The cord is great to wind up because it does it with a push of a button, but overall the quality of the product is not that great.

Turn off the unit and disconnect the nozzle to remove the debris. While you have the filter, removed rinse it with water until the water runs clear, allow dry time (24-36 hours).     I like the design of the vacuum and how the tools attach to the device itself. Also like the cord winder. But it does not really suck up the dirt as well as I would like. Glad is was priced low.

    Worked fine, but after less than 4 months it started overheating in a short period of time and would shut off. Takes too long to vacuum when you have to let it cool down before continuing.

    Purchased item in 2016. It's one of 2 vacuums so it wasn't used often. 18 months later, it will no longer turn on and is no longer covered under warranty.
