Customers admire the Media Remote for Xbox One's ease of use and its affordable price point. Many appreciate its compact size and sleek design, finding it comfortable to hold and easy to navigate. However, some users experienced issues with the remote's range and battery life, while others noted occasional responsiveness problems. A direct line of sight is often required for optimal functionality.

Can't speak on the official remote for Xbox One, however if it is to control the Xbox, then this controller does that. The feel of it is pretty slick. The issue with any of the IR remotes is line of sight. Therefore that's the only drawback I have. In other words, I wish Microsoft had Bluetooth remotes and that this one was. Good to have if you are not playing games and only wish to navigate the OS as if the Xbox were a standalone streaming device. Worth it in my opinion.

Great way to save controller battery life. It's very nice to not have to keep turning on (and off) the xbox controller while watching a movie or netflix. Its the reason I bought this product, and it works pretty well. You do have to point it at the xbox for it to pick up most of the time, but its not a problem unless your xbox is hidden from a coffee table or something. I give it four stars because of that and sometimes it doesn't work once i open netflix (you can fix it by rebooting the xbox). I'm not sure if its a netflix issue, xbox issue, or an issue with this controller. It also only happens 10% of the time but it does get annoying. I hope they fix it with an update.

Although this is a very simple design, the use of it's functions are dead on. You don't need any other buttons and mechanics for a remote to a gaming console. I specifically liked the all black color and the sleek, compact design. Does everything you need it too, no glitches, have had for about 3 months now. You can't beat the value of this remote.

Recently, my girlfriend and I have been on a Blu-Ray watching kick. For our bedroom, we only have the Xbox One for playing Blu-Rays. I had always found it a pain to use the regular controller because the Xbox home button always competed with the nearest lighthouse to see who's brighter (hint: the Xbox usually wins). So, I always had to turn the controller off, which inevitably resulted in someone having to get up in 15 minutes and me having to fumble with turning it on again and missing more of the movie. This controller has solved all of that mess. It's a steal at $15. It really does make watching movies on Xbox a lot more simple and more enjoyable. The best part was that I just put the batteries in and voila, it worked. I didn't have to connect it or anything. I don't know if that is typical but it was very nice. Overall, it's a remote that works well.

It's a good replacement for using the game controller but it could be better. It can turn on and off the xbox and you can use it to select icons and scroll around the menu so it works in that respect. It has a volume control but I'm not sure why since the seems to be no way to pair it with my insignia tv. There are very limited instructions that actually come in the packaging so I was unable to figure out any other functions. Overall, it does what I need it to do, but it has just added to my overwhelming number of remotes.

After one of the updates, the microsoft remote for xbox one stopped working for no apparent reason. This was to replace that one. It works great! No problems at all and you don't have to change the batteries constantly like the microsoft remote.

This controller is not the best, does not have the same build quality as the official Xbox One remote but it does have more functionality than it and if you can find it for less than $10.00 it's an absolute steal. The buttons are a little mushy but honestly you get used to it pretty quickly.

Least expensive Xbox One Media remote on the market, and well worth the small price tag. Ever get annoyed having to use an Xbox Controller to just flip through your Xbox Dashboard, or just to jump in and download a game, check achievments, etc....well getting a Xbox One Media remote is needed...its simplicity at its finest. Ive never been crazy about extra remotes , but this is a no-brainer. If your using a Xbox One Kinect, you can set the xbox and the remote to do mulitple things, like the Power Button will turn on the Xbox, TV and your Audio System. The channel button will change the channel inside the TV app/Verizon FIOS app or Netflix. The Volume Controls will adjust the volume on the TV/Audio System. Finally a 1 remote solution if your Xbox is the center of entertainment in your home (like mine)

I was thinking of getting the more expensive one, but I have rather large hands and this remote fits nicely in my hand. I used to use the controller. but I kept killing the battery. I definitely made this right choice in buying this

This remote is great! It's been so nice not having to use the Xbox controller just to watch Netflix or Hulu! I would recommend this remote to everyone. It's nice that it was also cheaper than the actual Xbox one media control.

I've been wanting of of these for a while, considering I use my Xbox One for movies often. Using the game controller can be annoying to my wife and kids, considering she doesn't use the system often even to navigate it quickly. While it's small and easy to use, it really is kind of pointless. The controls are just as annoying to use as it is with game controller. Fast forwarding/rewinding isn't made easier while using this either. It essentially doesn't add any new functions to the controls, which would be the nation reason for this. Price wise, it was a steal. I paid $10 compared to the $25 they charge for the Microsoft brand. Different price, same exact product. I ended up returning this. Just went back to using controller. Actually purchased a blu ray player because the One doesn't play 3D unfortunately.

Got this because it was cheaper than the Microsoft version. Works great and I can even adjust my tv volume. Remote needs to be aimed at the xbox so if theres anything in the way, you may have difficulty.

Great quality for the price. Could have gotten the official Xbox version one but saved 10$ and this one works great. Have to have it pointed at the Xbox but that's the only issue I can come up with.

This Control feels nice in the hand and has all of the buttons you need to navigate though the Xbox console or watch a dvd or play music CD it's no Xbox one control but it lacks a backlight / premium feel but is a great cool basic control at a affordable price when you need it and want it.

The Insignia XBOX one remote works well with the system. Often, without it, I have to use the controller to play and fast forward blu ray and DVD. Now, it is just like working with a BluRay player and this unit is $10 cheaper than the Microsoft brand. The only issue is that I cannot get the volume control working and must use the TV remote to adjust sound.

Nothing flashy about this remote at all but it does everything i wanted it for. I bought this for my wife as she doesnt play any games but uses my system for Netflix and TV, things like that. She hates using voice controll and thinks the controller is too much, ha. Long story short I picked this up for her and she loves it, simple to control and now i dont have to worry about one of my controllers being busted!

I replaced our blue ray player with the Xbox One and I didn't want my wife to have to use an Xbox controller for movies as she wasn't too excited about the purchase in the first place...this controller has been very easy to use and she admitted to me that this worked much better than the player we used to have.
