Excellent mike for selfie videos

This inexpensive mic has excellent sound quality, works well with cameras and most phones, is dead simple to use, it's unobtrusive and has a very long cord. It's a good choice for selfie videos where it's just you and the camera on a tripod and you're not going to be moving around much. Tip: Be careful where you wear this kind of mic, it can sound a little muffled if there are too many layers of clothes (lapels, scarves, etc.) between it and your lips. The closer to your mouth or throat the better. The long black cord is very helpful, but don't forget you're wearing it and trip over the cord or walk away and pull your camera over. Also it takes a battery (not included) and remember to turn it off or it'll go dead pretty quickly. You can spend more on a lavalier/lapel mic but this one does a great job.

I bought this as I had a video interview to do and I needed good sound input, but as I don't do these all the time, I didn't want to spend a ton of money. I was initially considering getting a shotgun mic as it'd be pretty decent for the capture and may be versatile for other possible uses, but I saw this, and it was a great price. Plus, Insignia is usually at least decent. I wasn't let down. Easy to use with our D850, there's a nice long cable and the mic fit to my subjects jacket really well. Sound quality was quite good with no weird noises and I didn't need to do any corrections to the audio, so I was excited!

Cable is really long! I got this for my youtube videos. I tried without microphone and with microphone. There is noticeable difference! Im using with my iphone, you can get lightning to 3.5mm aux adapter then you can use with iphone which doesn't have headphone jack. I tested it's working.

Overall great bargain for the price. Easy to use and small enough to do an interview with out mic stating out. Only small negative does make a little low noise compared to more expensive lav Mics,

I wanted to get a lapel mic to use with my Galaxy 9 plus. When I was recording videos or vlogs I was getting a lot of room noise/echo and my voice sounded push back in the mix. So I knew I needed a mic.
This mic has a very long cord which is great if you're connecting it to a camera on a tripod. Has a power option for cameras that need a powered mic or you can use it unpowered with smart devices. So when using it with my Galaxy 9 plus I will never have to use batteries. When I plugged it into my Galaxy phone, it recognized the mic was connected and started pulling audio from it straight away. I seen a lot of reviews about cheap lapel mics and this one was the best. They were a little bit more then your average cheap lapel mic but the overall sound was way better and the adapters and bag was a nice touch. If you have the money and you want something decent with a few bells and whistles this would be it.

This lapel mic was very easy to use right out the box. The quality is great for the value. I forgot my other lapel mic at home when I was shooting an interview out of town so I stopped at my nearest Best Buy, saw this and bought it. I was very impressing with how the crisp and audio was when I was editing. Glad to have a back up lapel mic!

This mic is very good for making videos. It picks up your voice really well and cuts out unwanted noises such as; dogs who pant loudly and insist on being near you at all times, traffic, nosy neighbors, etc.
The cord is super long (20 feet, I think). Handy but, I wish it were a 6 foot cord with an optional extension. I have to coil up the remainder and stuff it into my pocket since my recording device mounts on my belt.
Very strong clip.

My Blue Yeti (that I had for other reasons) simply picked up too much background noise. This mic does a great job of not picking up too much hum (and my room has a considerably loud ambient noise). A quick suppression in Audition kills all background noise/hum and I have great sounding audio for my videos! Most don't like the long cord, but I love that I can run it around my desk and have it out of the way, and out of camera while recording!

This mic works really well for what I needed. I purchased a PA speaker system at Best Buy but it came with a mic that was meant to be held close to your mouth. Omnidirectional picks up at a much bigger range and this mic fit the bill well. It also had a nice long cord, longer than the mic that came with the PA system. It was truly plug and play also, Very happy with it.

Looking to purchase Senheiser wireless mics, this was a welcomed alternative. Plugging directly into my camera with more than enough cord length, and capable of producing rich audio to boot. For the price, I was pleased with the overall performance and quality of this lav. It gets the job done.

I am not audio expert and needed higher quality voice recording as my camcorder microphone did not work well. Although cord is somewhat inconvenient, it's long enough to not have any distance issues (camcorder need not be too close to person using microphone). As for quality, huge improvement compared to camcorder and absolutely no complaint at this point.

We needed to record a message for our employees via video. The phone microphones were not great when recording outside, so we go this Insignia Omnidirectional Lapel mid because it was the only one that they had available at that moment. It was small enough where we felt it would do the job of providing a good and crisp sound recording. Wow, where we disappointed. I recorded all 5 of our staff members and we were all equally disappointed with the results. But here are my thoughts.
Pro:
- Small mic: this was great as the lapel was small enough and not noticeable. Clips well but you have to put that lapel all the way to your neck line in order to get a good sound.
- Cord length: to cord length is around 10 feet. Long enough for us to get a full body shot of the person we are recording.
Cons:
- lapel wind cover: kept on falling off. It’s easy to lose because it doesn’t stick on for too long,
- battery operated: so this comes with a on/off switch in order to record which requires a battery. My older lapel was just plugging in your phone and utilizing the battery of your device. This was annoying because the housing unit for the battery was rather large and cumbersome.
- sound: this was the most disappointing because even with the mic you picked up so much background noise. It was a slight improvement to the iPhone microphone.
Overall, it got the job done but we were not happy with the quality.

This microphone can pick up voices very well and has a very noticeable difference between internal mic and this. The cord is insanely long for those who need it. Audio may need a bit of cleaning to be perfect, but definitely captures good sound.

Does the job. Even though it’s not wireless the cord is long enough to reach your subject if they’re not too far away. Didn’t use all the adapters it came with but they’re great to have. Audio was great for the price.

With the pandemic going on I realized I didn't have a mic on hand and needed to buy one in emergency and this is the one I found. Turns out it is a great deal for a great piece of tech! Easy plug in and its working immediately! I would recommend this mic for anyone that has video projects in mind.

This is a superb microphone for the money. It has battery power and a long cord. The adapter works but it creates noise with the GoPro. Quality of sound is equivalent to the more expensive rivals and costs a lot less.
