I think this unit is decent in sound and battery life. It's not the best sounding unit in it's class, but it is a very good price for what you get, and BB BF sales were just too good to pass up.

Issues with staying connected to Dot, charging port protection will not stay closed so NOT waterproof as advertised, it does have awesome sound and I bought 2 for dot, like the portable aspect.

I received my 1st flip as a gift and love, love, loved it … then it acted up about 16 months later, but thankfully my friend bought the warranty … and so it began … I believe I am on my 5th flip, I had the 1st version twice. I still love the sound, and I am not hard on this device at all, but each one only seems to last just 1 1/2 to 2 years before something goes wrong… so although the Best Buy warranty is not as good of a deal as it used to be … it is a MUST with this device.

Great sound quality - loud enough for my dance classes for now. Good starter bluetooth speaker. I wouldn't bring it to a dance party but maybe use for a small intimate backyard party. Expected just a little more for my money...just a little, like for instance no matter what setting my phone is on (vibrate, etc) calls and text messages will go through. Then again, it could be my phone..

I purchased this cute speaker and used it for about a year and then it started to make a cracking sound and would turn off. Conveniently small size and easy to use but unfortunately did not last long! I never got it wet or mistreated . Manufacture warranty is for a year but that is when it went out.

The speaker sounds great super portable and waterproof the only downside to this was that I cannot sync it with my older JBL three and still to this day I can't do it even with the app other than that it sounds great and I would recommend to anyone

JBL is known for good speakers but needs to upgrade on their battery life and charging. Best buy is awesome for their returns which i'll be returning my recent speaker as its not taking charge and running low within 10 minutes. sounds is good and reason i keep getting JBL.

Good sound, great concept of linking them together, but too many hiccups with the Bluetooth chain and app. Speakers fight over which one is the dominant speaker and difficult to switch among other Bluetooth devices. Must restart apps because of inability for device to reconnect seamlessly. Doesn’t recognize both speakers when using two units. Significant lag when pairing with TV. Maybe a great product in terms of the simple using of a Bluetooth speakers, but other than that the admins are a hassle and not worth the money. Overall good sound.

I live this speaker, I really do. I've had it since November 2019, so it's not even a full 2 months (of writing this review). I use it everywhere. The sound is ideal for my purposes, which is pretty loud and very clear even at the highest levels. However, out of the blue the speaker just started shutting off while in use. First time I thought it was because the battery was low, or dying, so I charged it. But it kept happening. I even once kept it plugged in and it happened while it was plugged in, so it can't be because it needed a charge. It's just cr...ap. Quite frustrated. Don't just want a new one because I suspect the same thing will eventually happen.

I really expected JBL to have a really good quality and clarity of sound, but it’s not whatsoever. Bose definitely surpasses this speaker on clarity and crisp sound. JBL has just a slight bit more bass and can pair with more than one speaker which you’ll need to do if your looking for some good music. If you turn it up to almost full volume, about 2 clicks up on your cell phone it’s blows the speakers. Also, have to be extremely careful of the ends of the speaker as that’s where the subs are and you can really mess it up I’m sure. Overall, I’ve had speakers sound the same it even better that are half the price off amazon.

This is a good speaker the sound is awesome and it’s small enough to fit in your hand the one drawback is if you play at 60% or higher the battery life is basically cut in half it would run for about 4 hours at the cranked up level so if you don’t mind haveing to charge it every time you use it’s a good sounding speaker although at the price of 100 bucks your better of getting the charge 4 for a few dollars more where I was easily getting 18 hours play time at 60% and higher volumes and it delivers a punch base sound that fills any room

The sound is really good but when I move my phone a short distance away the music cuts in and out. Not at all good as I wanted to listen to music outside and leave my I Phone inside not all that big a distance apart.

great sound from a small speaker. i only gave it 3 stars because you are unable to connect it with the JBL Charge 3

The sound has a lot of depth - good speaker for a young person or if you don't want anything really serious - good for around the house and out and about.

The problem with the JBL Flip 4 is the JBL Connect App. It does very little. I have Ultimate Ears Boom speakers and, through the app, you can turn the speakers on & off, adjust the volume, and set your EQ preferences. You can do these items even if the speakers are paired with a device other than your phone, i.e., your TV or computer. You can’t do any of this with the JBL app. With JBL speakers, it’s a pain to have to always go to the speaker to turn it on or off. If I’m relaxing watching TV, I don’t want to get up to change the volume like I have to with JBL speakers. Also there is no way to make EQ adjustments even from the speaker. There is a very noticeable ‘lag’ to these speakers. It makes a delayed echo. With the Ultimate Ears speakers, I don’t notice a lag and there definitely isn’t an echo. I bought the Flip 4 for the audio quality; and for the speakerphone and 3.5 mm port (jack). Hindsight, the app functions and EQ adjustments are much more important & useful. Also, the overall audio quality of JBL, Ultimate Ears, and Bose are very close to each other, so that really isn’t a deciding factor. At the end of the day, given the inferior JBL app, wish I hadn’t purchased a JBL speaker.

Decent sounding speaker for its size. Highs and mids are crystal clear just wish it had more bass and had the ability to float. But for its small size not bad

Bought to use at work, as we could listen to our own music in our area. After just a couple weeks, the charger stopped working. After a little over a month, the longest charge it’d hold would be at most 6 hours. Odd thing is, it works great at home and seems to stay on up near the 12 hour “limit.” For the light colour, it doesn’t “dirty up” all that much. Which was something I was worried about after I started using it. While it started disappointing me in the beginning, I’m still glad I purchased it. It’s a complicated love/hate.

Ordered 2 of these as gifts. I own Flip 3 since 2016 and am a huge fan of sound quality of these speakers. Unfortunately, the feedback I got from 1 of the people I gifted this speaker was it only lasts 30 minutes on a full charge which was rather odd and surprising. No complaints about the clarity and quality of the sound though. So all in all , great product which could be the best with some battery enhancements.
