Great laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Runs even faster than I thought, fans are not very loud. Screen and refresh rate are great. Can run heavy Minecraft shaders and intensive texture packs at a consistent 110+ frames. It can run CS2 at a solid 90 at 1440p. Better than my desktop and wasn’t even expecting that. Battery life is short but wasn’t expecting it to be long, nor do I play without plugging it in and I’m not factoring it into my rating.

My brother-in-law, who was here on vacation, took it to Brazil for him. But when my brother turned it on, the screen simply didn’t work. What was supposed to be a Christmas gift has become my worst nightmare because no one I know can bring it back. There’s no support in Brazil, and sending it back here would be insanely expensive. I even called support, and they told me there’s nothing they can do to help. How can a brand-new laptop not work? Now I’m completely stuck with a $1,300 laptop that’s broken in Brazil and no solution

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.4.5- after about a month of having it, it’s WONDERFUL!! i absolutely love it, it runs games, programs and school work so well i absolutely adore it. i had an 2018 macbook air and it was hardly running google docs. this is such a nice upgrade definitely worth it. i’m docking half a point for the battery life when it’s off the charger. it’s not very long and can be annoying but i hardly leave my desk with it so it’s not a big deal.

Beautiful screen, powerful, plays every game I like at high settings. Easy to install upgrades and no matter what I do this laptop won’t get warm, let alone hot like some other laptops I’ve used (ASUS g14 & 16) and a few others. After gaming for hours laptop is cool and quiet. Best gaming laptop I’ve owned and I’ve owned quite a few. Battery life not spectacular but it’s as expected.

Runs very smoothly but smudges really bad

Rgb keyboard is a fun feature, especially the sound-reactive setting. I love that there are no ports at the back of the laptop, to prevent certain overheating issues. Biggest downside for me is that finger smudging is pretty bad, especially as someone who uses hand lotion pretty often, it leaves bad oil smudges on pretty much every surface. Otherwise pretty good gaming laptop for the price point.

Regarding your issue with battery – as you may know there are lots of variables that contribute to battery and in gaming laptops that can increase even more due to their high-powered processors and graphics cards. If you want to squeeze out more battery life and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, you can utilize the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the dedicated GPU to greatly decrease power draw. This can be done in the Lenovo Vantage app > top right box > GPU working mode, then choosing your preferred method. Users can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words, along with custom settings configurable in Lenovo Vantage. You could also press the Fn + R key combo to toggle to a lower refresh rate for even more power conservation.

First, regarding fan noise, this Legion Pro 5 is designed to deliver unbridled performance so as the laptop's workload increases, so will the heat produced inside the laptop and while this Legion Pro 5 features other cooling technology, the fans ramp up to match the intensity to help protect the system and prevent any performance throttling due to overheating. Should you be using the laptop for everyday tasks, you can use the shortcut Fn + Q to switch thermal profiles to a quiet mode to ramp down the system and its fans for a moment of quiet.

The only thing that’s an issue since it’s mainly a human problem is the smudges left on the laptop. It’s due to the normal oils accumulated on your hands that leaves smudge marks on there. Constant cleaning with the microfiber being damp will help clean it up.

Poor Battery Life

The issues with it is its battery not plugged in, with all power saving options it only gets 1 hour and 40 minute battery. And ofter times even lower. But other than that, it is a great gaming laptop, although the matte cover collects grease and moisture, these are the only problems I've had, other than that it is a great gaming laptop would recommend.
