    Besides having to make sure that you close the doors with force because they tend to stay open. The ice maker is small. I’ve been having to buy bagged ice because the production of ice is small and slow even when using the ice plus option. I have a family of 5 and if we use ice for lunch …. For dinner only 1-2 of us will get ice from the maker before it’s empty. I would recommend they make the ice maker bigger to make the fridge worth the investment.

    I bought this new refrigerator in December 2018 after my 5 years of LG refrigerator stop working. Now, in April 2020, it does not work properly anymore. I needed to buy very quickly a new freezer in order to avoid my meats went bad. The ice maker is not making ice, the freezer does not freeze anymore and the refrigerator does not bring the set temperature. I have to repair it or buy a new one. Especially now during Covid-19 restrictions is a bad time and something like that to be broken. I am very upset!.

    I don't know if the problem was with the refrigerator or the stupid Total Best Buy Program (do not buy into that program - they are absolutely worthless. ) After two calls to Best Buy, to try to have them come back out and fix the problem with my brand new refrigerator, they never even had anyone call me back. I still cannot believe they did that to me. The ice maker and water were not working, so I had to pay someone else to get ir working ridiculous. I generally like this refrigerator but DO NOT buy it from Best Buy!! They were worthless. They still have not called me back even though I told them that the ice and water were not working!

    Water Dispenser won't work -frustrating repair svc

    I ordered this refrigerator in Feb of '25. It was delivered and the water dispenser would not work. The delivery guy called in for a repair. Before they'll send out a repairman, they first have to send new installers to make sure it's been installed correctly. Visit #2 with installers - they tell me it was installed fine and but my water pressure is low and that I need a plumber. Called a plumber, paid $150 for house visit, and my water pressure is fine. By this time we've already realized the ice dispenser is working, still not water. They schedule with Geek Squad for repair. Visit #3 - they can't figure out what's wrong and recommend a new refrigerator. A week later (after I've pulled out all the food and dragged it to the now garage refrigerator), I receive a second new refrigerator - Visit #4. Yet another interruption to my work day and another day with strangers in my home--albeit kind strangers. They install the new fridge and, guess what? The water dispenser doesn't work. Then, would you believe I have to go through the same process? Visit #5 - a big fat waste of time as they send a new group of installers to confirm that it was installed correction (it was), then Visit #6 - a new Geek Squad repair guy. We're talking 5-7 days between each of these visits. #6 Geek Squad guy can't figure it out, so he calls LG and lo and behold there's a KNOWN issue with the control panel for this water dispenser. This ONE call could have saved me a month in headaches! #6 guy orders the part and a week later Visit #7, repair guy has it fixed in 5 minutes. I spent $150 for a plumber, $30 for a Brita to use in the meantime, and over the course of a month had 7 Best Buy visits for a KNOWN issue. Honestly, I was thinking the whole time, it's just one of those things and no ones fault, but that was the final straw. I called Best Buy and request a discount on my appliance for all the time and money I was out during this whole mess. I won't get into the details, but they offered me an amount that did not seemed fair. I gave them my minimum and they said it was too high for their department, but if I went to the store directly they would take that amount off the price that I owed (purchased on BB credit and was waiting to have it resolved before I paid it off). Having that gut feeling that it was too good to be true, I asked the agent, "Am I going to have to tell this whole drawn-out story again and try to convince them, or are you telling me that it will be there in the notes and all they have to do is pull it up and then issue the discount?" She told me yes, it would be in the notes, the exact amount. I drove 30 minutes to my nearest store, no notes in my account. No mention of the discount I was promised. Complete waste of time. I just called them again today, they have the notes and I've requested they listen to the phone call. I now have to wait 5-7 days for them to decide if they're going to approve my discount or not. What a nightmare. At least the water dispenser is now working. I'm always skeptical when an original part has to be replaced though so keeping my fingers cross that it doesn't flake out on me. We drink a lot of water in our house and wanted to stop buying bottled, so this was the main reason we chose to buy a new fridge in the first place.

    Lots of Repairs

    We have owned this refrigerator for almost two years now. First year was great, then about 16 month in the refrigerator's cool fan went out costing us about $600 is food loss. Best buy only covers a maximum of $300 worth of spoiled food. It's been almost two months since we completed the food spoilage claim form and received nothing from Best Buy so far. Next, the freezer doors were having an issue sealing which caused frost and ice cycles to form within the freezer making opening the doors very difficult. Luckily, we purchased the protection plan but the technicians are not careful when repairing the appliance. I think the first technicians caused the problem with the freezer drawers. Three major repairs within the first two years of ownership, I would encourage anyone reading this to stay way from LG refrigerators especially this model. LG just doesn't make things like they used to. I guess I should have purchased the Samsung. Go figure!

    This is my 1st fridge with built-in water filtration system. Needless to say, I was SO EXCITED to finally receive it and enjoy my new purchase! After flushing the needed amount of water (and then some!) through the water filter, my water STILL smelled and tasted like I'm drinking water from a chemistry lab. And after 2-3 minutes, my whole mouth would start burning too! Good thing I never swallowed the water, yikes! I tried a new water filter but the result was still the same. So. Because of this defect, Best Buy is replacing my fridge. Other than the faulty water line or filter, the refrigerator is absolutely awesome! I love how spacious it is, how wonderful it still looks inside and out after 2 weeks of using it. I love that I have 2 door freezer. All the compartments are easily accessible and roomy, and the deli drawer and its' adjustable temperature is wonderful! I am very happy with the fridge itself. The chemical lab water experience is what brought my rating down to 2. Hopefully the replacement fridge is going to be up to my expectations!

    This is a review after one year of use. The refrigerator worked perfectly for about the first 8.5 months. We had a small issue where the icemaker stopped making any ice. They were quick to send a new icemaker and have someone come out to replace as soon as the package arrived. Once installed we were advised to wait 24 hours before use. After 24 hours the icemaker was not making any ice. From here it was all down hill... The freezers went next and the screen above the water / ice dispenser showed an error. After hours on the phone and multiple conversations with LG over a month or so the refrigerator finally quit and we had to demand someone come out to service. Through this process we learned that the compressors on LG refrigerators were less than reliable and they are reluctant to replace a refrigerator. We had a local technician come out to replace the compressor through LG but only after a lot of effort and fighting with LG. If you do decide to purchase an LG refrigerator be sure to get a protection plan through Best Buy because you will probably need it. Best Buy was helpful through this process but LG was reluctant to do very much, really...

    2 problems in 6 months

    So bought this expensive refrigerator and have 2 problems. First one was bottom freezer door producing ice around the seal of the door. We have an extended warranty with best buy so we called they came out. Best buy thought it was a compressor defect and told us to call LG since less than one year and still under LG warranty. We called LG they came out and it was a screw that was not tight enough problem fixed. But taking the time to meet with best buy ..then LG took time for me to wait at home both times..that sucked. For the past several months my ice has a sell to it, not the water...just the ice from the icemaker. We changed the water filter and air filter and used LG ( expensive) made parts. That didnt help. Callled LG twice and the first time I was told get rid of all the ice and put baking soda box in the fridge to absorb the smells. Did it and it didnt work. I have NO onions or garlic in the fridge..yet the ice continues to smell. Called LG today about the problem and I am being told that problem is NOT covered by the warranty ( how convenient) So again I have the best buy warranty and will be calling them. I never had this happen to my previous fridge and in that on I stored everything and never had bad ice taste or smell. It was a Frigidaire. I have LG washers and dryers and they work great, but because the way LG is responding with this...I will not be buying any LG product in the future. I also own TWO 55" LG TVs and you should look at WiFi connection problems with there TVs. Google it and you will see. Best buy came and fixed BOTH of them as well. Avoid LG products

    This was a replacement fridge of the same model, the first one was only 1 year old when it went out, but thankfully we got a replacement plan. They were unable to find someone in my area to fix it therefore they gave me a replacement. But as far as looks, this is a beautiful fridge and runs very quietly. The only reason i wouldn’t recommend it is that it went out only 1 year after purchase.

    Pros: capacity Cons: Constant noise. There is always a rattle going on or something kicking in. Previously had a Whirlpool side by side, and the only noise would be the occasional ice drop. Would not buy again for this reason

    Bought may 2023 Error code IF E. 6 months after purchased. Water dispenser and ice dispenser quit working. I had Bought the 3 year warranty, so i had geek squad came out and they fixed it. Fast forward to feb 2025, same error code again. Still under warranty having them come out again to fix. Warranty to expire in 2026 so pretty nervous, purchase with caution.

    This fridge cools and freezes well but it does not make enough ice or have good water flow. This is a family sized fridge and should make enough ice for the whole family. Aftet two people get ice, there is no more and you have to wait hours for the next batch. The water dispenser is also disappointing. It is like a trickle of water. It takes a full minute to fill one glass.

    Love LG, but there is a big problem with this frig

    I have always been a big fan of LG. My last three refrigerators have been LG. So when my last failed after 8 years, I went for another LG. I like everything about this frig EXCEPT the balance of the doors. The door with the ice maker/water dispenser is heavy. I expect that. However, no matter how the appliance is leveled (we have had Best Buy service out to "fix" this), the door slams shut. If you have the opposing vegetable drawer open, it catches on that and it is a process to ge it loose. I expect that eventually the drawer will break. When the service people were here, they told us that that was a "design flaw" and that it was to be expected with the weight of the door. So why was the not a problem on my last LG French Door Refrigerator. Not happy and no one seems to care.

    Warranty Replacement

    Refrigerator is OK, but went through hell to get it. 78 days while LG dorked around to decide their obviously dead refrigerator was, yes, dead. Imagine looking at your non working LG refrigerator thru Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Year. This is the Warranty replacement. Wanted a GE, but the GE models of interest were sold out. First LG lasted less than 4 years. Hope this new one lasts longer.

    Refrigerator is ok overall. But the freezer drawers store less than my side-by-side did and the refrigerator doors don’t work well. The one with the icemaker slams shut and is going to end up breaking because of it I’m sure. And the right door doesn’t close all the way you have to push it shut. LG says this is normal. If this is normal it’s a stupid design

    Ice maker stopped working after a year and a month

    We bought this refrigerator last year on August 5 2020 and on September 1 2021 the refrigerator stopped making ice. At first it would make ice but then it wouldn’t drop the ice into the dispenser. Then it completely stopped working and making ice. The refrigerator also makes loud noises which apparently is normal but annoying.
