Customers enjoy the large screen size and find the monitor easy to use. Many appreciate the price and the improved multitasking capabilities due to the screen size. However, some customers point out that the resolution could be better and that the monitor lacks built-in speakers. A few also mention that the stand could be more adjustable.

It’s not the most crisp monitor I’ve ever used. Characters lose a little definition, but it’s excellent if you’re someone who needs a large work space like an editor or project manager. Very happy with the purchase. You HAVE to buy a monitor designed wall mount versus a tv wall mount if you plan on mounting this because of where the ports are.
Perfect if you plan on streaming two 4:3 shows at the same time!

Amazing Monitor. Big enough to split screen into thirds but still clear enough to work on each efficiently. Saves a lot of space with not needing 2-3 extra monitors.

I got this monitor for increasing productivity and not gaming so I don't really mind the relatively lower refresh rate (75). It comes with the HDMI cable so I was able to get started quickly with using this monitor for grad school. If you're trying to get a gaming monitor, I'm sure there are much better ones out there that are more economical. I knew this beforehand but I only wanted a large screen to multitask.
I love the massive screen size (34"), but the stand is not adjustable so keep that in mind if you need some height adjustment. The screen tilts up and down a little.
It does not come with a speaker or camera, so you might want to consider that too.
It comes with an owner's manual CD about regulatory / safety precautions
I'm sure you've seen enough of this monitor by now but I'll still add a few pictures.

Its perfect for my wfh needs. I'm a developer and using this has made things very easy. Its wide enough for me to see my code, my tests and my terminal all at once. its like ive got three monitors instead of one.

It’s an awesome and big monitor. It’s only fhd but looks amazing. If you’re looking for a big awesome monitor and don’t want to spend a ton look no further. I got it on sale but it’s worth the normal price.

Love the screen size. Love the external audio hook ups and outputs on the back. Great picture too. Only would love a bluetooth option and HD hard connection option. Working at home has me switching between 3 laptops, and this is the only screen that doesn’t drain my eyes.

I use this monitor for both work and gaming and it serves both purposes well. However, I do wish that it had speakers, especially for the price your paying. It could also use some USB ports and a way to raise and lower the height. LG also does a poor job with their instructions, especially when it comes to explaining how you download the software to make “on screen” changes to the monitor. There is no explanation in the paper instructions or the disk they provide. I had to watch someone’s YouTube video where he mentioned that you have to go into LG’s website to find then download the software to your PC/MAC.

My babe was looking at this to go with his new man cave and computer. He was bummed that he couldn’t get it yet to get on his computer. I ended up getting it for him as a Christmas present for all that he does being an amazing father and my love. It would’ve been a PS5 console if they weren’t sold out. He loves it though and is always on it now so I regret it a bit. I asked him if he’s had any issues with it for this review and he thinks it’s good so far.

Don't buy open box like new, it isn't!
Worried
I have ordered a couple things (that came from my local Iowa City Iowa store) from the open box, as this came from MA, I was worried, rightfully so.
It's scratched, it's filthy with greasy fingerprints, it's SCRATCHED. Open box excellent, it is not.
Totally unhappy with this.. Too bad, the monitor lit up and has a decent picture.

If you’re looking for a gaming monitor, there are better options. If you’re looking to be able to have several apps open at the same time (streamer, musician, podcaster, stock trader, student) this is an excellent monitor. It is pretty good for gaming too but the refresh rate maxes out at 75hz.
All that being said it was the perfect choice for my needs.

Many graphic cards made today have more than one output that you can connect to more than one monitor. Even the low-end Nvidia or AMD graphic card can drive two monitors without any problem (providing that it is run by a fast computer.)
Have you ever had to use two monitors side-by-side to look at one thing while you are editing something else? Don't you wish there are times that it is just on one monitor and you basically (at least) split in half? Ultraviolet monitors were expensive and the past, but the prices have come down to a more affordable range for many people.
This particular monitor made by LG (34WL500-B) is connected to your computer only with an HDMI connector. The manual states that you should not use any adapter that converts your signal (for example, from a DVI connector) to HDMI. For that reason, I did not try to do it.
My graphic card is Nvidia GTX 1080 and when I bought it, it was almost top-of-the-line. I used it to connect to a 240 Hz monitor. This monitor has as stated much higher resolution of 2560 by 1080 pixels and at maximum refresh rate of 75 Hz. It also supports HDR (Windows 10 supports that now if your graphic card and monitor allows it.)
The monitor weighs about 13 pounds without the stand, and the standard itself is about a couple of pounds. I think the stand is the weakest points because all you could do is tilt the monitor up and down. It does not go up or down nor can the screen be tilted sideways. I am a bit disappointed that I cannot make the screen go up other than having to put a thick book beneath the stand but I cannot make it lower.
The default settings are acceptable. The driver comes on a CD disc but I was unable to find it on the LG website at https://www.lg.com/us/support/manuals-documents?customerModelCode=34WL500-B&csSalesCode=34WL500-B.AUS&category=CT10000030&subcategory=CT30000200 so be sure not to lose your disc. There are two components that you need for Microsoft Windows. The first one is the driver, the second one is called on-screen control. I have presented a few screen captures of what this monitor can be used for.
I have a 4K Blu-ray drive and I played the movie passengers (with Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt) and it really does look good in 4K and HDR affects. (Using Power DVD ultra program.) However I believe strongly that most people may not buy this monitor to do that unless it is bought for a college student who lives in the dorm (as most movies look far better with a real 4K/HDR television with a proper settings) and since it doesn't have speakers built in, more hardware, i.e. speakers, will have to be bought.
Viewing at full screen mode, you can't see a full screen with Netflix with Google Chrome. You need to run Windows Netflix app to do that.
How about using it to play a game? I don't want to compare this to my other monitor which can run at 240 Hz (via the Display Port), however, at 75 Hz, it's good enough for most people. I installed and played System Shock II and it looked quite good. The response time was very acceptable.
Since I am not a gamer, I use on a daily basis a couple of programs – one is Adobe FrameMaker and Corel Ventura Publisher. And each one looks great side-by-side. The screen control program can split the screen into even smaller sectors and one of the examples I am uploading shows one third of the screen playing a video.
By the way there is no reflection at all because I believe the surface of the screen has the antiglare feature. The power button is on the bottom of the logo and other adjustments can be made there. It is best to read the manual first because this is such a unique but not too unusual piece of hardware.
Here is a video of what OnScreen control can do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2svy-fqLUs
If you said in front of the computer all day long – this may be something you never thought you needed. And during your down time, you certainly can play games with it. Just make sure your computer has a good graphic card and powerful enough CPU to drive it.
If this were more expensive, I probably would just get two monitors instead, but the price now is reasonable for most people.

This is a DREAM. I work as a loan processor and being able to calculate, view documents, and input information into our system is a breeze now. I absolutely love the size, the quality for me is absolutely excellent for what I need. Highly recommend instead of two separate monitors!

Great monitor that fits my needs. I wanted something that was large enough to split screen like having two additional monitors but with an option to create one large screen when I want to see something clearly without needing to zoom in.
