The good: This TV has exceptional color due to the OLED panel. Out of the box the settings are decent. With some calibration the picture is some of the best. Gaming is decent with 21ms lag, and you'll have a tough time finding a TV that looks this good with lower lag. The interpolated refresh rate is garbage like most televisions, but turning it off looks wonderful. The operating system is decent, but I tend to use my Nvidia Shield 95% of the time for smart features. TV shuts off when I've left it paused for too long, and has logo burn in reduction for either HUD elements in games, or other logos such as news tickers. The bad: This TV has inconsistent grays between 5%-25% gray. Specifically, in the top left corner of my TV the grays vary wildly to the point of being distracting and all I see. During most normal content this isn't an issue, but becomes a glaring problem in darker content like Supernatural, or Blue Planet's Deep Sea episode, or horror games like Alien Isolation or Resident Evil. This was annoying enough for me to exchange it for a new panel. I have not received the new panel and will update the review according to the quality of the next TV. Glare is a much bigger issue on this TV than most, and I ended up having to move a lamp in my living room in order to watch content without annoying glare. I don't get much sunlight during the day, but I imagine the performance would be poor if you have a window behind you. Burn in is always a constant worry, and it's an anxiety that doesn't go away. Having the protection plan alleviates some stress for the first five years, but once I'm on my own, the anxiety will certainly return. The upscaling chip on this TV is nowhere NEAR as good as the processing chips on the Sony TVs. Color gradation is blocky and nowhere near as precise. At a distance it's hardly noticable, but if you're in closer, perhaps for a gaming session, or walking neat the TV, this becomes increasingly apparent. The ugly: As of the writing of this review, it is the day before I am having the new panel arrive. As of tonight, a line of dead pixels that is 2 pixels wide, and 2160 pixels long has developed. Essentially, there is a column of dead pixels in the right quadrant of the TV. I have owned the TV for roughly three weeks to a month. Had I not already been returning this TV for a completely separate issue days prior, I would have had to have used my protection plan to get a new one. Granted, I may have gotten manufacturers support and a refund from LG, but in the course that LG refused, I would be out a $1000. $500 of the protection plan would be consumed for the new TV, and $500 to protect the new TV. This would have been painful and frustrating beyond belief. The conclusion: This TV is gorgeous, and if it fits your budget, there isn't really a whole lot better in it's class. It's pretty good for gaming which is a plus. There are color inaccuracies and quality issues with the panels that need to be addressed and change my ability to strongly recommend this, to recommend with extreme caution depending on the type of consumer and if they typically purchase protection/extended warranties on their devices. If I receive my new panel with better quality, expect my opinion and review to change, however, if the panel is worse, expect my opinions and review to reflect that as well. I should have an update soon. I hope this helps you make an informed purchasing decision.

Let me start out by saying this, I am so glad I spent the money and bought an OLED tv. It is single handedly the best picture I have seen yet. The picture on the LG 65 C8 OLED is crisp, clear and the colors are brilliant. If you have the extra money available to spend I highly suggest you do. I could go on and on about what you’d like and how many features there are, etc... but I’ll skip that and tell you some of the cons. 1st - Content. Plain and simple. Content just isn’t there, considering cable and satellite companies don’t really broadcast in 1080p yet how long before they can in 4K. 2nd - 8k units are already coming out, with 8k units already being sold I can only see 1 or 2 things happening, a.) 8k fails miserably because it is too soon or b.) 4K is basically skipped over and phased out because 8k is the new standard. I have had an issue with streaming on this unit. It wouldn’t stream anything (Netflix, Amazon) in HD or above quality. The quality was so poor it was unwatchable. After some searching I found out if I put the unit on my 2.4 ghz WiFi rather than my 5ghz connection it worked fine. Go figure that one out. Last I had a “stuck” pixel that occurred about 3 days after my 45 day return time frame. It was barely noticeable but I did see it and called it in. It was a tiny white dot and in dark movies or scenes it was noticeable. Luckily Best Buy geek squad covered it and they were able to replace the panel since I had the protection plan (thank god..). In conclusion I believe the issues I had were rare and were easily corrected. I love this unit and wish I could afford one for every room in the house. I highly recommend spending the extra cash and getting yourself one of these OLED TVs.

The picture is great, even using HD only. The 4 k is gorgeous. Controls are very intuitive. Set up easy.

This lg c8 65 inch tv blew me away.the picture is just amazing.i love how you can watch the tv from an off angle and the picture is perfect.for the price of 2700 it’s a good deal for a 65 inch.i was going to buy the 55 inch when I went to Best Buy but the 65 inch was the winner.i was afraid the 65 would be too big.i am sitting 10.5 feet away on the couch and 8.5 feet from the chair.with the 65 the recommended distance is 8-13 feet.so it’s perfect for me.love this tv check it out

I am very impressed with the picture quality of this TV . I easily set it up and was watching TV in 30 minutes . This replaced a 5 yr old Samsung LED 50”. The picture quality was noticeable better in this 65” OLED. The smart part does not have Amazon app but does have Netflix. Can’t comment on sound as have it hooked up to a home theater system with Definitive Technology speakers.

honesrly a really great TV. It does what it needs to do. The smart TV platform is better than most and doesn't really need a fire stick for it. Great sound as well and amazing picture quality. Could not have been happier

The picture is fabulous! The user interface is innovative but could be slicker, but WHO CARES when the picture is so true on uhd content that it feels like you are looking through an empty windowframe at a group of actors performing.

This is an awesome TV-it’s more like an extension of all your IOS devices-it’s more than just s TV. The picture is amazing!!

The depth and clarity of color is beautiful!! Many scenes are so real, it feels like you could reach right in and touch objects! It is such a pleasure to watch, I find myself binge watching my favorite series. The remote setup is very intuitive, as well. Thank you for this amazing TV!

This LG has met every expectation and then some. The processing is fast. All of the functions are easy to use. I have Charter services and the HD is amazing. I also paired the TV with the LG - 5.1.2-Channel Hi-Res Audio Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer and Dolby Atmos Technology. I will say the sound system is nice but I don’t think it’s worth the money. Wish I would’ve went with Bose.

I would buy this tv over Sony oled just because of the price I have Sony 940d and this tv is brighter

Bought this tv and the picture quality is amazing, so crisp and clear. Nice features! Detects the hdmi that’s on and switches to it automatically. Like when I turn my Xbox on it switched to that hdmi! Highly recommend it’s the best! Hidden gem!

I have been an exclusive Samsung TV customer until now. This LG C8 is Amazing! The Samsung one connect posed difficulties for this installation configuration; and the LG was the solution.
