Bought on recommendation from another customer in the store. It's pretty easy to configure and reaches from near the front of the house out into the street, covering the front porch, which is what we got it for. However, my tablet looses connection after 15 minutes or so and I'm not sure whether the problem lies in the extender or the tablet.

Hi, PapaMoon,
All of your wireless devices should have a stable connection with the range extender. To isolate this, observe if the same thing happens even if the tablet is connected to the router. Email us at [email protected] with your phone number and the link to this post so we can have our Escalation Engineers assist you.

Great range extender. I use it as a wired access point, but super easy to configure and set up. I have several of them throughout the house and speeds are consistently good.

Extending the wifi as expected

I wanted to expand my coverage from my max stream router that is in the basement out into the backyard. The extender is on the main level and the router and wifi extender are about 60ft apart and the extender is sending the wifi at least another 100ft to the back of my property. I do want to mention that the extender has had a solid yellow light in the location I picked which is supposed to mean it is supposed to be moved closer to the router but its working fine, multiple people can stream video, my security cameras work and that's all I need. I never did a full speed test just an internet speed tests and there is almost no difference. I also love that I can just walk from the router zone to the extender zone without doing anything to the device I'm using.

I noticed my wifi was lagging at times, and after talking to someone at Best Buy he suggested I get this extender. I put it in my basement and connected several devices to it vs having them connect to the router, which ended up being super simple with their step by step instructions. Turns out this was exactly what I needed! The problem was not that I needed to extend my wifi signal but rather that I had too many devices connecting to my router. I absolutely recommend if you have a smart home or more than 10-15 devices that need to be connected to your wifi. I haven’t had any issues since!

Added this range extender to my existing Linksys system to fill some "dead spots" in our multi-level home. It really expanded coverage over two of the levels

Not sure what to say, the products what the OEM and box claim it will do. The product is very easy to set-up; this type of thing is not in my wheel house, but I got it done quickly and long before throwing anything. The extended range is pretty decent too; I need the product to extend the wifi to the second floor and attached garage of my home. It does just that with signal strength to spare.

it is very easy to set up if your router has a WPS button one I had wouldnt connect so I had to do the manual setup and it was hard to figure out where to go and what web address to put in the intructions are not clear at all if you do manual setup, but I finally figured it out and got it set up and works great and made it where wifi is through the whole house and outside pretty much

Hi Jwesley88,
Setting up the RE7000 is normally easy because of its CD-less setup. It’s good to know that you’ve found a way to make it work without additional help. Should you need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected] anytime.

Originally had a Netgear extender, which didn't work in my carriage house (I live in a separate structure next to the main house). Linksys did work.

Very good extender. It was a luxury, not a necessity. Our son does gaming and wanted faster speeds in his room. This seemed to fit the bill.
It’s not always easy to connect to the wifi system. I takes multiple times to get it to connect. But when connected it works great.

I'm a big fan of Linksys products in general. I find the company's products play well together and are easier to set up than some competitor's products. I've got a Linksys router in my basement. My iPhone6 has no trouble picking up wi-fi on the 2nd floor of my house, but my wife's iPhone 6s often struggled. I bought one of these range extenders, and she has no more complaints. The setup is pretty easy if you have a newer router. And if you have certain Linksys routers, you can set it up for "seamless roaming." Just be aware you will need to go into the range extender's settings and click the box that says you want the extender to use the same wi-fi network name as your router uses.

Using for Ring Doorbell

My Ring doorbell was too far from my main router. I also wanted to get it on the 5GHz band, which it was too far for. Placed this in a wall outlet between my router in the closet (back of the house) and the front door. Before this the video was always cutting out and pixelated. That's no longer happening with this extender. I do get an occasional freeze in the video, but not sure if that's the extender or the doorbell itself. Overall much better.
Also wanted the option to put this in AP mode and plug it into the Ethernet port. It allows that option, although I'm not using it at the time. Also not extending the 2.4GHz band, just 5GHz, which it also lets you customize.

I'm fairly happy with this unit and it's performance, though it stills seems to vary a little day to day. That may be the internet carrier, who knows. In general it has helped our signal reach farther inside and outside the house.
I may also try new placement to see if I can squeeze a bit more distance out of it.
