    Marantz Cinema 60 Review

Good flexibility, power and sound. Marantz phone App is unintuitive and s flaky (doesn't connect half the time and I have to reboot the phone to have it recognize the receiver). I have two subwoofers but I'm confused how the second one should be connected. The speaker setup doesn't account for a 2nd SW but the says it is a 7.2 receiver. Atmos works well. Audessey setup did a good job but I might be making some subtle changes,

Hello, and thank you for your purchase. The Cinema 60 AVR provides you with two LFE subwoofer connections. Both will be measured as one, and fine adjustments to the volume must be made via the subwoofer. The Cinema 50 and above provides you with independent subwoofer control. marantz

I love the sound quality this unit produces. It made my speakers sound so nice. For movies and for music, both sound amazing. I bought it together with a Denon x3800h that cost the same and there’s no comparison in sound quality, even though the other has more features the sound quality doesn’t come near the Marantz. There are two things I wish were better, 1 the controller isn’t backlit and 2 The LED screen is very small. You need to use the TV to setup unless you are very close to it because the letters are so small. Very powerful, very beautiful and not so bulky design. I will enjoy my music and movies way more than before with this receiver.

I purchased this receiver a couple of weeks ago. I have a pretty simple 5.1 system with two Bowers & Wilkins towers for my left and right front and my two rear and center channel are Definitive Technology with the center being powered. I have a generic 15" sub that is 20yrs old but simply punches the bass. Marantz Cinema 60 replaced my aging Yamaha RX A3020 which struggled with Apple 4k and my cable company's 4k throughput. I'm no audiofile, but movies and my spotify music are well balanced in my room, the sound is clear and immersive and has a more dynamic feel than my old receiver. I'd recommend and buy again. Good luck with your search.

The do not buy review for the Cinema 60 isn’t fair. The latest series unlike the SR-5015 does have some of the HDMI issues and the receiver has been updated. Also I upgraded to the Marantz from the Denon x3700 because the music with the C60 is so much better. Yes it has less inputs but I only needed a 5.2.2 Atmos setup anyway. The Denon x3700 is a killer for movies however if you listen to a lot of music the Marantz gives you that too. I am running this with B&W towers and a center with an SVS Subwoofer.

Replcaed an old entry level Denon AVR. What a difference the updated technology makes to the listening space. Running thru vintage speakers, Polk Monitor 7Cs, and this thing is vibrant and images really well. The additional 30 watts per channel really shines as well. Great product!

I love this! I replaced a 5-year-old Pioneer Elite that had started to have issues. The upgrade in sound, ease of use, and overall quality is major. The entire setup procedure, including the Audyssey adjustment, went really smoothly. The setup literally walks you through the process one step at a time. The remote is much better than I’ve ever had on an AVR, with convenient options to adjust sound, boost the dialog, etc., without having to dig through menus. Highly recommend this AVR.

Marantz Cinema 60 Review - Good, Bad, Ugly

Have a new 5.1.2 setup with b&w speakers and SVS sub with samsung 85" tv, initially had Denon 1700H and wanted to try Marantz cinema 60 so switched. only two sources primarily one apple tv and other ps5, also use airplay for music listening. Mostly using mobile apps to control Apple TV remote app, Heos app, Marantz AVR remote app. Purchased & setup thru bestbuy. GOOD: Premium product you can feel it in price, great sound with movies, music, PlayStation. however, if you are a common consumer i believe we will not be able to tell big wow differences unless observed carefully, some what in music listening i could feel the difference. BAD: 15-20 seconds delay in starting the receiver with any source and when you are switching the sources, didnt see that with Denon 1700H. the price difference between Denon 1700H Vs Marantz Cinema 60 is huge $700 vs $1700, with that my expectation would be Marantz to be quicker, faster and much more smarter. UGLY: Switching between sources is not working as expected, seems buggy source 1: apple tv using mobile app to control to turn on / off; turn on - apple tv which turns on, samsung tv on, marantz receiver on works fine no issues; turn off - apple tv turns off, samsung tv off, marantz receiver turn off works fine no issues source 2: PS5 using controller to turn on / off; turn on - ps5 which turns on, samsung tv on, marantz receiver NOT on, no sound, need to go to Heos app in mobile to select the input source to get the sound; turn off - ps5, ps5 turns off and samsung tv still on, switches to samsung live tv, marantz receiver still on. observed same issue with Denon and thought Marantz being premium will be more faster & smarter NOT really. one of the major reason for switching. contacted bestbuy no solution yet, contacted marantz no solution. For this premium product i would expect it to be much faster, much smarter than the cheaper option and hand shake between sources should be seemless

We purchased this Marantz-Cinema 60 with Lg C3 77 with a Apple TV 3rd Generation, Sony 4k Blu-ray player, and 4k Directv Box. We are running all 8k fiber optic HDMI’s. One 50ft plus HDMI cord to the receiver to the TV and the sources feed right into to receiver. We love it It works great!! Picture and sound are amazing!!! Stew and the rest of Geek Squad did amazing job with install and answered all of our questions!

Yes it looks great. Yes it sounds great. Yes it works well. This review is for the Gamers. Purchased this receiver due to my Yamaha Receiver not fully supporting 4K 120Hz games on my LG OLED. After some research I found all new Marantz and Denon receivers should work. The biggest difference between the Denon and Marantz will come down to your budget and build quality. Because both brands are made by the same company you will not see a substantial performance difference between the two: Marantz Cinema 60 vs Denon X2800H(7 channel) and the Marantz Cinema 50 vs Denon X3800H(9 channel). I chose the Marantz because I appreciate the better build quality and looks. My receiver is visible so Marantz has better tuning gear. I was able to test them in store and they both performed equally well. You will not go wrong with either. In my opinion, the Denon X3800H(9 channel) or the X2800H(7 channel) will work just as well for gaming at 4K 120Hz, movies, and are substantially cheaper. But, if you have the budget, I would splurge.

I’m really impressed with this AVR. The setup was simple and comprehensive. Audyssey flawlessly calibrated my speakers and the resulting sound from music and streaming sources is nothing short of amazing. The picture quality from my 4K projector is even more perfect now.
