First, I am a prepaid cellular customer, so I am accustomed to cheap phones. When I found a pre-paid cellular provider with a great price, good plan and piggybacked on a significant network I knew there had to be a great "unlocked" phone that would handle my unlimited talk, text and data plan. After trying more than a few Android phones by off-brand manufacturers, and being consistently disappointed at their performance, I took the advice of my Best Buy representative and bought the Moto G Plus with 32 gig internal storage. OH WOW. It's like night and day. Speed, performance, fabulous camera, accommodates the apps I need and has the size that makes it easy to carry and store. I especially like the security tools included which allow me to easily open the phone with "one touch", my fingerprint. It works like a dream and is pretty tough too. Not a cheap plastic phone but a high strength and lite weight metal case. The camera is excellent and I am taking the best pictures ever. The camcorder feature is great for Facebook Live and Facebook Messenger Two Way Visual. Worth the cost? Yes, absolutely.

When it's time for me to buy a new phone, I always look for a good deal. I don't need the latest flagship phone, I just want one that's reasonably priced and well reviewed. Typically it takes me a lot of research to find the right one amidst so many choices. Not this time. A number of high profile reviewers say this is THE budget-priced phone that gives you the features you would expect in a higher-end phone. I totally agree. I've had the phone three weeks and I love it more every day. If you want to save time and money looking for a good deal on a phone and buy one you won't regret, look no further. Pros: 32 GB ram Good battery life Great camera for the price 8 core processor Fingerprint lock Very useful display when phone is first picked up Looks and feels great Cons: I haven't found any yet. If the specs on this phone aren't good enough for you, you don't deserve to own a phone for this little money.

I was looking for a quality phone with at least 32 GB storage. I'd researched the Moto G plus 5th generation and liked all the features. It has turned out to be as it was highly rated. Sound and camera are great! The price is definitely fair for a quality phone.

Very happy with the moto G5+. Took some time to get use to Motorola again after switching to Samsung but have always enjoyed the droids. For the price it's a great purchase. No problems so far. Strongly suggest if looking for unlocked reasonable price phone

This is a great smartphone for the price. If you're looking for something like a new Samsung Galaxy S8 or iPhone 7, this might not meet your desires. It doesn't have that type of processor or those types of capabilities. That being said, it's still a great phone for the price that it is. If you're looking for a reliable and very capable smartphone but you're on more of a budget, then this is a great phone for you. It works very well and still takes nice pictures. I don't think it has quite as loud of speakers as some of the more premium smartphones out there, and the same goes for the call quality. It also doesn't have any waterproof/dustproofing as far as I know. But again, if you're looking for a smartphone that doesn't have all the extra specs that Galaxies and other premium phones do, this is a great phone for you.

I chose the moto gplus for it's large display, affordability and good reviews. It was easy to set up and input contacts. The camera produces pretty good pictures and the charge lasts longer than expected. I have not been disappointed.

A great alternative to a flagship Android phone

I'm a fan of investing in an unlocked phone and not signing 2-year contracts with major carriers so this works perfectly. Also, the price point is about midrange so it's more expensive than an economy phone, but you do get the watered down features of a flagship phone without dropping 7 to 8 bills. The Current Android 7.0 that it runs is now outdated but there is the talk of an upgrade to 8.0 Oreo later this 2018 year. The previous Moto G models used to be water resistant, however, this G5 model doesn't claim to be anymore. The most attractive feature, in my opinion, is the ability to add an external Micro SD card and format it as NATIVE INTERNAL MEMORY! So you might be buying the Moto G5 32gb model, but if you invest in a 64gb sd card, for example, you are able to use 96gb as space to install apps and use for internal memory. Of course, the full space is not available due to Android System use and formatting restrictions, but the point is that you'll not have to run out of memory as you would with most internal memory restricted phones. The processor is conservative and 2gb of memory is a little light, but haven't really run into problems yet. I noticed that some heavy memory applications crash from time to time (Gmail, facebook messenger) but only if I forget I have 10 applications running. The rear 12mp camera is adequate. Great pictures if it's a perfect environment because the ability to correct for conditions is very basic. The front camera is decent (5mp). And the Fingerprint sensor is extremely useful as a lot of apps are now integrating that as a secure sign-in which saves time. It includes a Turbopower Charger which is nice if you need a quick charge, but the battery usually lasts me all day until I'm able to charge it at night even with a lot of processes running (location, wi-fi, cell standby on). Overall, it's a great phone and had had the G model since the 3rd generation and am impressed with its features versus the price comparison.

Great phone for the price. Good feel and weight and great battery life as well. Decent camera too. The display is still lacking, but for what it’s used for, its fine. Good bang for the buck.

This is a great phone especially at its current price (and getting cheaper as the Moto 6 release approaches!). As with any Android phone, it was easy to set up and all my personal data and apps transferred over without a hitch. The phone is fairly responsive. The screen is bright and clear. The phone is a nice size and quite light. I'm definitely a fan of Moto phones ever since the first Moto X came out and this phone just confirms that for me. Most importantly, the Moto G5 Plus is as close to stock Android as you will find outside of Pixel phones. There is zero bloatware. The phone is unlocked so I can use it wherever I want (which happens to be a low cost MVNO). This phone is definitely a good buy.

Needed a new phone without spending an arm and a leg and this phone did just that. I've always liked Motorola phones and have been wanting one but didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on one, but wanted one with decent features and a camera and this one did just that. This phone has a 1089p Full HD screen so everything looks great on the phone and if your looking for a decent camera that shoots HD video then this is the phone for you. You can even shoot in 4K it you'd like. And the best thing about this phone is that it's unlocked so you can pop in any carriers SIM and your good to go. I'm using a T-Mobile SIM in mine and get excellent service and HD voice and VOLTE and Wi-Fi calling and visual voicemail.

I have always had flagship Android phones, but when my LG G4 died just out of warranty (bootloop bug) I couldn't justify $800 for an S8 or $650 for a G6. The Moto G5 Plus has excellent battery life (only uses ~20% after a day), and has a decent display, and pretty snappy performance. The camera is not the *best* but is more than good enough for me and most users. Does not have NFC which isn't an issue for me (but might be if you use NFC based payment systems). Overall very happy with this $230 phone - hard to justify spending much more for a better camera or 2k or 4k screen.

I have had this for about 3-4 weeks now. Very satisfied with battery life - I normally charge it once a day even though it is usually still 70-75% full at the end of the day (fairly light use though). Pictures are good for a phone camera, not $800 phone quality but it isn't an $800 phone. Better quality than I would have imagined for this price range. Does everything I ask and does it "fast". Fingerprint sensor is wonderful. Moved up from a $100, 4 gb phone so this is like having a rocket ship compared to a horse and buggy. Nougat takes a little getting used to as adding ringtones was a bit "hidden". GPS works fast and well. Volume is good. Internal radios seem to be strong and reliable thus far.

I was sad when my Moto X Pure failed, but I didn't want to buy another brand. The Moto was the best cell phone I've had--better than the Moto X that I had before. I bought an unlocked Moto G5+ for my wife recently. She loves it. So, after some research, I bought one for me at Best Buy. The only hitch is that Best Buy doesn't have a SIM card for the Moto. It took another week to get a SIM card from Sprint. In the interim, I used a Samsung. I remember why I didn't like it, and I was so pleased when the SIM card came. Now, I'm even more pleased having the new Moto 5+ up and running. It's fast. It takes good pictures. It last more than a day on a full charge. It's intuitive. I have a new favorite phone.

Bought this phone for my wife. It is a very nice phone and I could not believe the price. Easy to set up and easy to use. It has an awesome display and calls sound very good. The camera takes super pictures and great video's too. She likes the way it looks, I do too. This phone is a great buy. I use Net10 on the Verizon Network. All had to do was remove the sim card from her old phone and put it in the Moto G Plus and turn on the phone. It worked perfectly and you would never know the sim card was switched to new phone. This phone was unlocked so you do not have all that Verizon software you do not need. And I think the Apps that come with the phone are good.

A very old Samsung phone with a slider keyboard that I loved was on its last legs. I am not really too much of a techno-geek, so I wasn't lusting after the latest and greatest phones. Also I am a tad on the frugal (or cheap) side so paying $500 or more for a phone goes against my nature. This phone fit me perfectly. A major upgrade in specs without a major cash payment. I went to Verizon and they installed a replacement SIM and the phone worked. I transferred by data at home and I was all set. If you spend lots of time comparing phone specs or your phone is an extension of your personality this isn't your phone. If you want a decent phone with a reasonable price this could be your phone.

The G5 Plus is a really nice phone. It has a great camera, is fast, sound quality (phone) is good and I really like the bloatware free version of the OS. I am a bit disappointed in a few things like I failed to notice it does not have NFC. Also, I found out later is there are a lot of problems with phone to car connectivity. These mostly reside around the ability to push SMS to the car so you get the option of having the text read or replying. Both these short comings worked great on my $20 Windows phone. You would think a device that cost 10 times that amount would at least have the same functional features. Regardless of the loss of some features, I still like the phone.

This is really a nice phone. It is an android phone and Motorola undates the phone as new versions come out. Memory is easy to update with a larger micro SD card. Being an unlocked phone they just removed my old sim card and put it in this phone. It has a finger print reader to unlock the phone with a backup pattern or code. It has Motorola gestures that allow you to turn on the camera or turn on the flashlight. It has an amazing long life battery and comes with a turbo charger that charges it fast. It is an excellent phone and feature rich for anything $100's more.

Bought this phone for my wife. She really likes the phone. I really like the phone too. It was very easy to set up. We are on Net10 Verizon. All I had to do is remove the SIM card from her old phone and put in the new phone and it was working. All current updates were done as I set the pj one up. The call quality is great. The camera takes excellent pictures. And it is fast while surfing and using apps. There was a thing on set up that allowed you to move everything from your old phone to the Moto G5 Plus. The transfer was done seconds. Very well built phone and very nice looking.
