Great laptop for the price
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So this is my first gaming laptop I’ve ever owned and so far I would say it has been great. I’ve had it for a couple days and the performance I’m getting out of it is amazing. The fans don’t get too loud while watching YouTube or Netflix etc but will get noticeably loud when playing games even ones that aren’t as demanding such as CS:GO and Valorant. On games like Fortnite which are somewhat demanding I’m getting around 190 frames on all low settings with a high view distance and on all high settings getting around 70-80 frames. Thermal wise the laptop isn’t that hot whole using a web browser or watching videos but while playing games it can be very hot in the front of the keyboard directly under the screen. It has 2 USB ports which I use for my mouse and keyboard and I am buying a usb hub so that I can use my microphone as well, if you plan to use a 3rd party keyboard and mouse with this laptop I recommend getting a usb hub so that you can use other usb devices if you need to. Overall I gave it a 4 start rating because the laptop can get very hot but other than that it’s amazing!

Great Value, Great Performance!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is actually my first gaming laptop I have ever owned (I was previously on a gaming desktop but needed something with mobility.) So far, I am very impressed with this one! It is built sturdy, looks clean and nice with the red accents IMO, and overall runs games pretty well (GTA V for example.) The keyboard is surprisingly a joy to type on, however the trackpad is pretty bad (but I don't expect it to be good on a machine like this.) I am going to be doing college assignments with this and I feel good about this being a great gaming/school laptop. Also, the 120hz screen makes content seem buttery smooth and seems to be a pretty nice panel given the price of the laptop. I do have a couple of stuck pixels (3 different ones I think) on the edge and lower corner of my screen but it is very hard to tell and you'd have to be pixel-peeping at an angle in order to even notice. Overall, you are getting a 6-core 12-threaded i7 processor with a GTX 1660Ti for $999 in a pretty great little package. I think along with the build quality, the fast refresh screen, etc. that it is all well worth the price. I would recommend adding one more stick of 8GB DDR4 RAM though to total it out to 16GB @2666MHz (which is what I will be doing in the near future.) Adding on, the temperatures of this laptop seem to run fine (for a laptop of course.) If you are going to play any new AAA titles though I would suggest turning on Cooler Boost 5 in the MSI Dragon Center to prevent any thermal throttling. If you are looking for a laptop in this price range, then I can easily recommend this one if you are looking for something that can run recent games nicely and could double as a laptop for school. I know that there is another model exactly like this one with an RTX 2060/i5 9300H, however I chose not to get that one because I have heard they run extremely hot and in certain circumstances the GTX 1660Ti isn't even that far behind in frame numbers. Anyways, I hope you found this review helpful and stay safe and have a nice day!

Well worth the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this computer. It is far more durable than what I had, has a solid frame, awesome graphics and we'll designed plugs-network cable clip faces down. I could not have asked for something better. MSI is about quality and Best Buy got it for me much sooner than expected. Just won an online tournament as well last Saturday. WP!

Amazing gaming laptop!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop as my first gaming laptop, and I am not disappointed one bit. The 120 hz screen refresh rate is great for playing FPS games, and the GTX 1660 Ti allows it to run Call of Duty Modern Warfare, a very graphic-heavy game, at a medium/medium-high graphics setting, although it does get VERY hot, so it may be a good idea to invest in a good laptop cooling pad. Other games such as League of Legends will run absolutely perfect, with max graphic settings still running at 240+ FPS, but turning on V-sync makes is smoother at 120 FPS. The one thing I wish I came with is 16gb of RAM instead of 8, but it’s DIY upgradable up to 64gb

Fantastic purchase!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop for my wife where we both game together but also use our computers for work. I currently have the Alienware R4 and this thing blows it out the water. Fantastic computer; could not be happier.

Didn't work well, exchanged it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this laptop with high hopes, ended up exchanging it for the Lenovo Legion. This one would never boot correctly if you had a wireless adapter in the USB port for a wireless mouse. It would always try and boot from that even when I changed the boot order. Got the blue screen a few times as well, even after doing a factory reset.

Very good build Pros: Keyboard is nice and sleek Screen size is perfect Ports meet standards for me Trackpad is nice Cons: Battery life is awful Tends to run slow or freeze when running a few tabs or when extracting files causing me to have to use task manager to close applications Not very much RAM for the price A bit heavy but not bad
