This is a set it and forget it which is awesome. I plugged it in at the source coming into the house, checked my internet speeds throughout the house and voila, my sustained speeds changed from 70-90 Mbps prior to connection to 180-230 Mbps afterwards... This was just unbelievable to me since I didn't understand that the old 10/100 switch I had was causing the low data speeds. It's completely logical but when you wonder why your network isn't getting what you're paying for, you look into the router, which by the way was limited to 100 Mbps as well but didn't fix the issue. This was the final link in the puzzle. As a special note, I didn't know what a managed switch vs unmanaged meant. Managed means that you'll have the ability to restrict bandwidth (usually for kids or a roommate taking up too much) as well as other customizations by each of the 8 Ethernet ports. Unmanaged means there isn't any configurations on the switch itself.

I have Ethernet run to a few rooms in my home. Well, when I switched internet providers, I needed a bigger switch since the new providers modem is outside. This fixed my problem perfectly and was easy to install.

Best switch I've ever used. Easy to use, no configuration needed. Will definitely deliver those gigabit speeds, even on non-cat 6 cables at shorter distance. Great to use if you have multiple video consoles.

This is truly a plug n play switch. No addon config required. And with all 8 ports working simultaneously, I do not see any drop in speed

I was looking for a cost effective unmanaged gigabit switch and this Netgear 300 series does the job. Just plugged it in and hooked it up and that's it.

I ran out of ports for my ethernet cables. This supplied the number I needed, without any noticeable slowing of my speed.

New Internet provider = new home network Needed more ports because I bought more stuff. Have a single port in the room and that was just fine. Then more things got added to each room, then I got a new Internet provider so things were faster, and these do a great job making sure that all of the computers, TiVos, and smart TVs have all the conductivity they need.

Set up is simple. Simply plug it in, and start connection your network cables. I haven't tested transfer speeds, but my network hasn't skipped a beat. I ended up buying a second one, so I had enough to network the rest of my house.

Simple to install, as an unmanaged switch should be. I have not measured its performance, but it seems to be quite a bit faster than the older Netgear switch I replaced.

Bought these largely just to get something in front of my WiFi router so I could have a couple of wired machines. Easy setup, nothing to do really other than plug it in.
