This solved my problem of some weak WiFi signals in our house. I was inexpensive and was very to setup and to start using it. I saw other similar devices but really didn't want to pay and arm and leg. I know you get what you pay for but this device and price really solved our problem. I would recommend it to any one that wants a cheap solution to an annoying problem. Great item!

    Cheap wifi extender

This is what to get if looking for cheap wifi extender. I found it easy to set up but I also consider myself technologically savvy. The small/short instruction booklet would lend you to believe anyone to be able to do the set up as long as you read the instructions and know how to connect to a router/network. Up and going in minutes. Was trying to get better wifi in backyard of my house when I use my ipad/iphone. Initially I set up the extender to have same SSID as my router but it just confuses my mobile device when I am in an area that signal strength is relatively equal with the router and extender. Stick with the automatic setup where it names the extender to be your SSID name with -ext added to it. Then just set up your mobile device to be able to connect to your router-ext automatically and when you roam around the house it should automatically connect to the router or router-ext that carries the best signal strength. Occasionally for certain applications when connected to the wifi-ext it drops connections but this may be more related to router compatibility. For example none of my apple devices has connection issues to my router but my Xbox routinely drops connection to my router. Go figure.

Keeps the kids WiFi in check!

I purchased this item to put the kids on separate WiFi in my home. They were staying up late on school nights and playing on the internet is what was keeping them up at night. I purchased the NetGear WiFi Booster and got it hooked up. The instructions are simple, but my WiFi password was too long (10 characters max for this device), so it took a little time trying to resolve the issue. Once I got the password issue taken care of, this device was working perfectly. Now once bedtime rolls around, I can hit the power button on this device and lock down the internet on school nights. It is a wonderful device (my teenager may disagree).

I installed this extender in the outlet in my upstairs hallway to enable us to use the wifi throughout our house. If I go to far into one of the bedrooms, I lose connection. Otherwise, does the job we needed it to do within a reasonable price.

    Great Wifi Booster

The NetGear Wifi booster works as described. For the price, this was worth the money. The only problem is that you have to know how to set up your wireless passwords and/or WEP info. Once you do that, you are good to go. It has been in use for approximately one month and has filled a Wifi hole in my home. I use an Apple Time Capsule as my Wifi and it didn't give good signal on the opposite side of my home. I plugged in the Booster and put in the security codes and it has worked perfectly for iPod, iPad and iPhone.

This was easy to install, plug and play. My daughter could not get reception in her room to watch Netflix and now she can. This really boosted the signal and is easy to install. I read how you can turn it off when needed with a flip of the switch.... I like it.

This NETGEAR - Wi-Fi Booster works great and is not that bad of a price for what you get. The Best Buy Geek Squad really know what they are talking about. It has helped to boost the Wi-Fi signal through out my 3200 sq. ft. home, making it available for our laptops and other devices. I am very happy with this purchase and I will not hesitate to ask for help from the Best Buy Geek Squad in the future.

works very well at making my internet signal stronger in the upstairs of my house. Only problems was when our kids shut the modem off in the basement I had to reset the extender upstairs.

I got this for a friend, who's living in an sort-of apartment above her grandmother's garage. The grandmother's house has a metal roof, so the wireless signal from the house was extremely poor there - it was only usable in a small part of the apartment, which was not where she wanted her computer. I got this for her. I gave it to her on a day that I was busy, and my smart but not electronics-technical friend set it up herself, plugging it into an outlet in the garage. That was low enough that the roof didn't block the signal from the house, and with the extender relaying the signal, she now has great signal everywhere in her apartment. For the price, it's more than I expected - I figured setup probably would be a bear on something that cheap, but it definitely wasn't!

This is a great little device with respect to the else of deployment and configuration. When it works, it works well. It has some issues, however. 1. Connection stability level: derp. This thing is easy to configure, but getting it to stay connected is another battle. It will periodically drop connection to the main wireless and never reconnect. The only way to get it to reconnect is to power cycle the Netgear. This is not an issue of signal being weak where the Netgear is located. Signal strength at this location is pretty decent. 2. Don't use it for heavy data transfers, especially if anyone else is connected to the Netgear at the same time. As Netgear warns in the documentation, it won't handle that so well. It'll bottleneck big time.

I bought this as an extender for my outside bar. Works great. Basically took it out of the box, plugged it in, hit the web site to do the config and was done. Now my friends that come to my house and party outside at my bar have strong signal... no more B_U_F_F_E_R_I_N_G !!

This is a decent wi-fi extender for the money. Just be careful if you have another of the same model already plugged in and working (I have one upstairs and one in an outside bar). Unplug the existing extender first, otherwise the setup utility won't see the new unit. Easy to configure and very reliable. Seems to have good range and strong signal. We use the outside one to stream sports to our TV without any issues.

This definitely helped with the connection issues in my place of residence. The router is on one side of the apartment while my room is on thebother side and the connection is terrible. By placing this in my room, I have a string, constant connection, as if the actual router is right in front of me. It doesn't have a wide range, though. It only works best in the room it's placed in. Other than that, it serves its purpose.

I use it to boost the WIFI signal to my cheap and not very sensitive tablet. Set-up is straight forward and logical. The unit receives signal well but transmitted WIFI signal is only an improvement when your device is within 20 feet of the "range extender". Wish it had better transmitted power.

For $40, this thing is great. It boosts the wifi on my phone to full strength from my router upstairs. I live in a 3500sq ft home, so this thing is really worth the $40 to just plug it in, let it search for your router, set up the router on your iphone, ipad, etc. and DONE!! This was up and running in minutes!! great job Netgear!

I have tried other internet boosters and they did not work as well as this one. The signal is strong and the set up was easy. Now the second half of the house is getting internet service for the first time in years

Surprised me, how easy it was to install and how well it worked. Being very disappointed by my service provider, this little gaget, for a very fair price, saved me from going ballistic on my internet provider. Could have spent much more and got allot stronger signal but really didn't need it once this was hooked up. Takes care on signal for a two story, 4 bedroom house with really no issues.

I use this in a large house to boost signal to the back section of the house. Works very well for Internet, including steaming video. Does not work as well with Internet TV, eg Apple TV or Roku. It works with those devices, but has some throughput issues. Installation with another Netgear device was as easy as plugging it in, pushing a button on the device, and pushing another button on the wireless router. It's literally so easy that a child can do it. It's a good value for the price and I recommend it.
