Great camera for beginners. Price is affordable and picture quality is great. I would recommend getting the 50-200mm lens as well.

I LOVE my bright red Nikon D3200! I took it for a test run at the Minnesota Zoo, and it delivered better than I anticipated! With rapid shutter speed, I was able to capture animals in motion and take multiple shots seconds apart with ease! I am still learning to use all of the settings - the video and field guides are GREAT resources and easy to use! I'm still experimenting with various lens, including widescreen, 2x, 200mm, etc. The challenge is having to change lens - so I'm still carrying my Nikon D40 as well to cut down on "field changes." I also bought the Nikon D3100, so I'm set for widescreen, close-up, distance....and my awesome backpack carries all my gear!

This is my first DSLR camera. But is a very good camera for beginners and with no much experience. A great feature is the wi-fi spot can easily transfer pictures to your phone or PC. Also use it to remote take pictures and see the image in realtime in your phone. Yes ... supernice! Battery is very good, picture quality excellent.

Got this for my wife for her birthday and she loves it. It takes amazing pictures and had a ton of features. It takes a while to learn all the features, but that's half the fun. Only "bad" part is, I'll have to get a bigger computer to handle the 24MP pictures.

I think this camera is awesome. As a newbie at taking good quality pictures, I'm looking forward to making discoveries and taking beautiful pictures with this camera. I'll be traveling to Italy this summer for three weeks to study abroad which was my primary reason for getting the camera, and I'm so excited to make lasting memories with it. It has a beautiful color and wonderful potential for great pictures. The only thing I wish was that the kit came with a camera bag to store the camera in and a better quality lens (though nothing is wrong with this one!). Other than those small details, I am in love with this camera! I highly recommend it for anyone interested in doing photography professionally or recreationally!

The book that came with this doesn't really tell you how to use this to it's full potential. The actual camera is smooth and easy to function, but the manual leaves me needing to purchase another book. The camera itself is very nice tho. I've only gotten to experiment with it a little bit but I think it will do eveything I'd expect it too. I definitely recommend this camera, even for beginners

Got tired of point and shoot cameras that die after a year or two, so I decided to treat myself to a better camera. I have not regretted it. I have already shot almost 1200 shots and haven't had it a month yet. Still trying to figure out how to do good shots in a dark theater, but have gotten some awesome shots of sporting events, recitals, flowers, landscapes and family shots. Would recommend it to anyone that can afford it. Very glad I got the 200mm lens to go with it, now just wish i had the 300!

I have always been a Nikon fan because of the photos. Have had 3 or 4 Coolpix S8300's and one S9500. Photos were great, reliability was a problem, Took very good care of them, but for whatever reason the dreaded "lens error" problem would finally kill them. Couple of them were replaced under warranty, but after the 9500 died, it was time to do something different,
The D3200 takes photos that are much better than the point-and-shoot Nikons I had. In Auto-Mode, it is a simple as the other ones. There are a LOT of buttons on this thing, so reading the manual is a must.
Did buy a 55-200 lens, and when you zoom and crop, the photos are flawless,
Won't fit in your pocket, but thus far the photos are worth the bulk.

Camera is great! Takes great pictures, I know the other "upgrade" model had more controls but I think this one with the controls right at your fingertips is much easier to use, everything is right there, you don't have to scroll through a screen to find the zoom or anything. Takes great pictures, very very easy to use.

I got tired of blurry pictures of my toddler taken with my point & shoot camera and bought the D3200 to catch those moments. I usually use the sports mode--the speed and clarity are great. I love that I can take pictures so quickly. It keeps me from missing those fleeting expressions. I haven't used it on manual mode yet, but look forward to learning about it. I am a novice to dslr cameras but, so far, I've found the D3200 easy to use and I would highly recommend it. I wish I had bought it 2 years ago but I held back because of the price. If I could do it again I would have made the investment earlier.

Upgraded from a point and shoot. This camera has a ton of features and will take a while to learn them all. I would recommend getting the "how to" video. I have had friends tell me that some of my pictures look magazine quality now. I do not leave the house without this camera !! I take pictures of everything.
