I took my camera on vacation shortly after receiving it. Most of the pictures came out pretty good. I was in Vegas, Grand Canyon and The Hoover Dam. I'm not an expert on all of the settings so I left it on auto. Probably not the best option but like i said, I'm no expert. I look forward to signing up for a class or doing some more research to get familiar with all of the functions. I didn't have time to do this before I left. Overall I think this is a great camera and good buy.

I've enjoyed this camera so far and the majority of time the pictures come out crisp and clear. I'm a beginner so part of this is my lack of knowledge, but I noticed in bright settings pictures can become overexposed - colors like bright reds don't come out accurately. I'm sure there are manual settings to change this but even using the auto red enhancer setting it didn't turn out accurate. I still have issues taking focused pictures of moving objects or more dimly lit areas - the shutter speed seems to take a long time causing the picture opportunity to be lost once or easily blurred. Again, this may be user error. Out of all the cameras out there at this level I think it's a great price for the quality and features, beginner friendly, and worth the investment.

My wife and I purchased this camera as a wedding gift for ourselves to take on the honeymoon and I absolutely love it! It takes amazingly clear photos with minimal camera smarts. If you are looking to graduate from the point and shoot cameras to a DSLR, this is a hard one to beat.

As a slowly converted 35mm SLR junkie, I am amazed at how far the technology has come. This camera does a ton of tricks in-camera that used to take a dark room to accomplish. Lots to learn, but its fully auto and many almost-auto modes allow me to time to learn while still getting great pics. Glad I finally made the jump.

Very Good Camera, with good inbuilt features. I was accompanied by an experienced bird photographer and we took turns with the camera. Both made the following observations: From the angle of experienced Nikon users, this camera offers everything in terms of menus and dials to set the camera up the way one is used to from D90, D7000, D300s level cameras. This came as a surprise, as the D3200 does not have the front dial that we both were used to and familiar with. Nikon has done an surprisingly good job in making the menus very easy to access and after a short while, we where entirely concentrated on the shoot and only occasionally reminding ourself that this was "only" an entry-level DSLR. At the same time, we were impressed how nice the software is tailored to the needs of a potential beginner, gently guiding him towards to goal of making better photos along the way. The LCD screen on the back is a huge step forward from previous models, as it allowed to effortless pre-screen the shots taken. I was even carrying a laptop computer to better inspect the initial images, but after a short while we only resorted the the built-in screen.

This was bought as a graduation gift and it could not have been any better gift or purchase. The camera itself was so easy to learn. Not something that would cause frustration. Everything is user friendly for the beginner or even someone with experience. I would recommend this camera to anyone who asks me. And when possible buy the bundle. That was the greatest deal of all

The camera has so many features, I can't wait to learn more about it. Was quick and easy to use in a short period of time the auto feature works true to the other features if you want to use more of a manual concept. Love the look and feel and using the camera. Makes me excited to learn about photography again!

I love this camera! My husband and I went back and forth whether to purchase this one or to spend the extra $250 on the 5200. The major difference is the screen on the 5200 is movable (so you can flip it around for self portraits for example). Otherwise, after doing a lot of research I found that there is no major difference that will affect the quality of photos and so if you do not plan to use the movable screen I would recommend opting for the 3200 and saving yourself a pretty penny. I would; however, recommend purchasing the 55-200mm lens to go with the camera otherwise you will not be able to take very detailed photos from a distance. A lot of the time you can get a good discount by purchasing the camera and the additional lens at the same time. We chose not to do so and now I wish we had.
