Customers find value in the D500 DSLR Camera's superior image quality, fast frame rate, and excellent low-light performance, frequently praising its ability to capture sharp images even in challenging conditions. However, some users noted concerns regarding the lack of a built-in flash, battery life, and the cost and availability of XQD memory cards. The camera's weight was also mentioned as a potential drawback by a few users.

An Incredible Camera

This camera is a fantastic camera. After watching a massive amount of camera reviews, I knew the D500 was the preferred sports and wildlife camera. I was a little hesitant about spending this much money, but can honestly I haven't a moment of buyers remorse. The high ISO is beyond belief.
I purchase the camera as my sports camera. 4K video was a fantastic bonus. The only thing that I wish about the camera is that it had better focus when doing video. Auto focus does a lot of hunting when selecting a different focus point.
I haven't missed having a built-in flash. With the high ISO I'm able to get very usable shots indoor with minimal light.
I switched from another major camera brand. This is my first Nikon and it is truly an incredible camera. No regrets. Highly recommended.

the Nikon D500 is the best DSLR ever made. The Build quality is outstanding, the AF System is lighting fast and the absence of LPF makes this PRO Camera the best of APS-C sensor.

I own five Nikon bodies. Hands down, this is the best of the five. Ten frames a second, fast focus, same sensor as in the $6000 D5. I am a professional wildlife and nature photographer and this camera gives me everything I need.

I purchased this camera to compliment my D750 and it has completely replaced it. Great quality, insanely fast and the benefit of the FX to DX multiplier for zoom.

Versitle, fast and compatible with all my Nikon lenses. Fast speed and tracking for animal and Brad photography. Crop body on a 600 mm Nikon lens adds range. Coupled with an extender, I don't miss the long range shots.

I just bought a full frame Nikon D750 and have to say I would rather use my crop sensor Nikon D500! It's not that the D750 isn't a great camera, it is, yet I feel like the D500 is and feels more like a high end professional camera. I can't really say anything bad about it.
If your looking for a great crop sensor camera that feels and performs like a high end full sensor then I would seriously consider this purchase!

A must buy for those looking to photograph live sports. The fast shutter speed makes capturing the moment easy as pie. Worth the increase in price for its speed, which you cannot make up for in other ways.

This is the best camera for high ISO performance that I have laid my hands on. Even when shooting upwards of 8000 there is very minimal noise occurring.

I bought this as an upgrade to my Canon T2i. I went back and forth between the D750 and the D500. So far, so good. I shot a lot of indoor grade school basketball using the 18-300 lens. I have been impressed with the iso I have been able to use and still get decent pictures. My next purchase I am looking at is a 2.8 lens (not sure what length yet). I am looking forward to the outdoor sports now where the light won't be an issue. The 10 frames a second is crazy fast and works great on action sequences. Just pick the best picture and delete the rest.

I don't think I've seen so many camera reviews use the word "legendary". Honestly, it's pretty amazing what Nikon has been able to do with an APC sized sensor. The performance is really close to full frame cameras such as the D750. I guess the biggest downside is the price. It's a lot to pay for the smaller sensor. On the other side though, you are getting D5 performance for half the price.

The D500 is the best cropped camera Nikon has made. Really quick focussing, 10fps and lots of focus points. The new XQD drives are very fast.

A wonderful camera for the wildlife enthusiast. Definitely not for the beginner though. Hopefully it will get easier to use with more use.
