Amazing smart watch for outdoor wear

Many of the smart watches are limited to water use. This one reaches 330ft. Love the large dial face and tide chart,as im always on the water. Only 4 stars, due to limited color choice, and limited apps on the watch. Hoping android 2.0 solves this.

Only 4 stars due to the strap. It’s a little difficult to put on and it should at least one more inch longer

I bought my watch 2 months ago. And the rubber band material is so weak. My band is broken and I didn't use outdoors at all. Just indoors use. I was planning to use it for surfing season in Central America. But now it is not posible.

The first "true" Android Wear sport watch

This chunky, brick of a watch looks as if it would survive the zombie apocalypse because it probably would-- it is ruggedly handsome with an air of indestructibility. Also indestructible-- the battery life. I've had this thing on "always on" mode since I bought it and, depending on the complexity of the watch face you choose, it will easily last a work day with life to spare. Fun extras: the nifty, waterproofing clip over the mic. Be careful, though-- it comes locked down, and in this position the mic won't work-- and there are scant few instructions on how to open it (a helpful YouTube video from a user showed me how). I leave mine open all the time so the watch is voice responsive-- Nixon claims it needs to be closed for full waterproofing-- I don't know if that's true but I also probably wouldn't chance it. My ONLY quibble goes back to its HUGENESS. Good luck trying to cuff a dress shirt over it-- FRENCH cuffs are particularly annoying. Knocking off a star for that, although that's probably unfair as I was warned. The solution is to buy a "back up" dress watch like the Huawei or the Urbane... goodie, more toys for me. :-)

Nice watch, but has its issues

Initially, I loved the watch! It looks great. I get all my notifications flawlessly. It customizes nicely. However, in the month and a half or so since I bought it there have been some issues with it freezing or slowing down. A couple times I was unable to shut it off and turn it back on after it froze. Battery life is maybe a day with mild usage. When it works it works great, but still has some bugs to fix. I would be weary of third party apps for it. I noticed a lot more issues with those as well. Waterproof aspect is nice. Holds up well in harsh conditions. Overall, I expect better for the price.

This watch is beautiful. I owned it for about a day. I like how it resembles the G-Shock style. However, the picture depicts the option for weather as one of the Watch face dials. This must be false advertising or unavailable for iPhone users. Disappointed about that. The store employees told me the watch monitored vitals as I originally went there for a Fitbit but none looked right on my wrist. Further, if you don't ski or surf, there are better options with more advanced workout metrics. This watch is by far one of the best looking and most comfortable watches I tried on, but for the price it should do much more for workouts. All I could do with this watch is monitor my steps. Which by the way, would add steps I did not take. Thus, I traded it in for a Apple Watch 2 Series. More bang for my buck.

    Water proof Android wear watch?

Let me start off 1st by saying I am not a skier or a Surfer but I bought this watch. Why? I am very hard on my watches & I wanted something rugged, waterproof and don't have to baby. Hand downs this is the best Android wear watch I have owned. Looks great and swapped my band for a leather 1 uses 23mm band. Odd size but options are out there. Also just got Android wear 2.0 update last month. Downsides?? No heart rate sensor Battery last for me 1.5 days but I charge every night topical battery from Android wear No Android pay support since no NFC. Other than that love the watch and have had Written issues with scratches on screen and bezel. If you want a great-looking Android Wear watch that is rugged and you get a lot of compliments on it you should go for it you won't be disappointed

After lots of research and comparisons I choose this watch for the durability and connectivity. The watch does not have all the options that others models have. I carry a Moto Z Force and email & text work great. Caller ID and navigation work great. The watch does not do as well with fitness. The watch does not have the heart rate monitor but does track steps and has Google fit on it. Battery last a full day maybe 2 depending on how much you use it. I like it a lot I did by a charging stand and have been very happy with it's options and durability.

The Nixon Mission is a great watch, it's tough and and great looking, it's water proof so I don't have to remove it to shower or worry about getting it wet outdoors, the display is bright even outside. My biggest dislike is the battery life, 24 hours is about the most I can get (actually goes a bit longer but not much) I have to charge it once a day and since I am out of town at least 1 day a week it is necessary for me to pack the proprietary charge cable with me when I go, an extra cable is $25 and I will need to special order it as Best Buy does not carry them.

I bought this because I was looking for a smartwatch that had a large dial and was round (I was in week 2 of using an Apple Watch - that was a love-hate relationship, I loved the usability of the Apple Watch, but hated the small screen size and the rectangular watch face), and coming from the Garmin Fenix 3, this seemed like a good fit. Where things started to go wrong - it froze in the first 30 minutes of use. I was installing new watch faces, and the watch froze. I had to hard reboot it. The battery life wasn't that great (a day and 2/3s at best, while I was getting around 2 and a half days out of the smaller Apple Watch). This one doesn't have a speaker which is a bummer because I was just getting used to the convenience of using the Apple Watch for receiving calls when my phone was charging. And the hassle of closing and opening the mic port gets old really fast. In the end, it was an easy decision to return this watch, and I ended up buying a Samsung Gear S3 instead. If you're looking for a rugged watch for water and snow activities, I'd recommend the Gear S3 Frontier over the Nixon Mission. Its a shame, I really liked the look of this watch and if it weren't for all the cons, I would've stuck with it.

I really love this watch. I've been waiting for a watch like this for quite some time. It's durable and not too big. I worried about the size from the reviews I read. It could be better with the speak to text feature. It has trouble picking up my words. Make sure you're in a quiet area for the watch to pick up your voice. Other than that, it's a solid watch. I love the sync features on it.

This watch is great. It's runs android wear pretty smooth. Nice display and I love the size and weight. It does not feel cheap at all. It is very basic though. It doesn't have a heart rate monitor or the features that say a Samsung gear would, but I didn't want all that stuff. I just wanted a great looking watch that worked well and Nixon delivered on it.

I have owned this watch for 4 months now, and I am so happy with my decision to purchase this. The first thing you notice is is size. If you like big watches, this is definitely for you. The 48 mm size is mammoth. It really stands out. I receive so many compliments on it. I believe this is because of how large and attractive it is. The band is a military grade silicone, so any doubts on its durability should be put to bed. The battery life is better than other reviewers give it credit for. I don't use the gps, because I regularly have my phone on me as well, and without the always on display, I easily get 3 days of battery out of it, with normal use. My watch is still running Android wear 1.5, but I am excited about the 2.0 update(this watch is scheduled for the update). The watch face selection is great, and the info you can get with the mission app is nice, even if your not a surfer or snowboarder (I'm not). It's marketed for extreme outdoorsman, but is not exclusive to that lifestyle. The nixon mission is a solid android wear smartwatch, and I have zero regrets even with the $400 price line.

I have also owned the Huawei Watch, and this is noticeably larger and bulkier. I am definitely enjoying the auto screen brightness while keeping a full round screen. I am disappointed that this watch does not have a heart rate monitor. Compared to the Huawei Watch, I do miss having the speaker built directly into the watch.

Perfect size to still stand out. Rugged. Have put it through a lot of outdoor abuse and still get asked by watch lovers "what watch is that?!" Looks tactical and smart watch functions work great with my Samsung. Worth the money.

I'm a huge fan of NIXON watches so I was pretty excited to get this. Love the look, love the size, hate the battery life. Couldn't even get a full day. Ended up going with the Gear S3 Frontier and I couldn't be happier.
