This is my second purchase of Otterbox defender for Iphone 4/4S. I was replacing my old Otterbox defender after 3 years of use on my Iphone 4. The only reason i replaced it was because the rubber outer cover was starting to fall apart and the screen protector was getting too dirty and scratched just with normal wear and tear.The inner shell was still intact. I am very clumsy with my phone and have dropped it on tile, concrete wood floors and my phone is completely fine. I even accidentally left it in my jeans pocket and put it in the washing machine. I heard the thumping and panicked but when i opened the cover my IPHONE was in perfect working order with no water damage! I like that it has a screen protector built into the inner cover. The only minor inconveniences is it is very bulky and does not slide in and out of you pants pocket because of the rubber outer shell. You also need to take off the cover to put the Iphone on an Ipod Deck..The protection you get for the phone FAR out weighs these little problems.

I've had OtterBox cases for my iPhones since day one: in fact, I purchased the cases before I had the phones, so the phones have always been 100% protected and look like new (yes, even my "Original" iPhone). The Defender provides two layers of protection: a close-fitting hard case with a built-in screen protector and a Silicone bump-case that cocoons the hardcase and cushions any drops. I have dropped my phones from waist height numerous times without any damage to the phone - the cases end up a little battered, but that's what they're for. The Defender also gives a degree of protection from water: not dropping it into a pool, but it can handle puddles.

I have always used Otter Box cases as they give a great protection for your phone for a slightly high, but worth it price. I like the selection of colors and the toughness of the case. It doesn't make the phone overly heavy and my favorite part is the screen protection. Thick plastic screen protection verses those sticky film protections. Although, I am careful with my phone; the few times it has been dropped no damage at all. Thanks Otter Box

Anyone who knows Otter Box knows that they are bulky, but I love the protection that comes with the bulk. I needed to replace mine and wanted something different than black. Got this one and the color is more like a dark wine with a rose pink insert. The price was much better than I have seen in other stores. Hope they come out with more colors!

This is my second Otter Box. I replaced it after 18 months because the rubber had deteriorated. I think I should wash skin oils off to make it last longer. I have dropped the phone a few times and there has been no damage. It is convenitne to use.

The Otter case provides excellent protection while being relatively easy to use. All of the parts fit snugly and appear to be well engineered with Otter buttons easily engaging iPhone buttons. I have not dropped the iPhone from any great height but the Otter appears to be able to take a beating. And, it is not as bulky nor heavy as I expected. The engineering behind the belt clip is pretty good, too. In addition to clipping onto my belt, the "clip" acts as a stand that enables me to use the iPhone as a radio/alarm clock sitting on my night table while it is charging over night. Pretty cool. The only gripe that I have is that when I wear the iPhone on the belt clip, the hard clip digs into my abundant gut a bit. I can really feel it when I get into or out of my car. Keeping a shirt tucked in helps but so would losing a few inches around my middle. I'll try to keep my shirt tucked in.

We bought the otter box cover that has the entire phone shielded but the plastic lining that covers the screen slipped loose and was causing water to leak in. We decided to buy this, as it was a little cheaper. But it was much cheaper when we found out that best buy matched the price with amazon. This cover definitely protects from dropping, as we have dropped it several times on all types of surfaces. The only concern is that the screen is not protected from everyday scratches and of course your finger tip marks. But for the price, the cover is fantastic. Match the price, you'll definitely be more thrilled with the cover.

love the case with its great design and great protection. it is a little bulky but not to bad. the belt clip broke first time i used it though.

Okay, I bought this OtterBox for my father's iPhone four. Is the first time we've ever bought an OtterBox. I have always hesitated in buying one because of just how big it makes the phone even though it protects it really well. This defender series isn't as bad as older models. It doesn't make the phone that much bigger but it does add a little more thickness to it. The clip lets you carry it more easily though you do have to click on your belt. I like carrying my phone in my pocket, but to each their own.

I bought this for my son's 13th birthday so now I'm "the coolest mom ever!" The super snug fit and the built in screen protector ensures that the phone will be safe from the scuffs and scrapes that go along with daily use as well as the occasional slip and drop! The variety of color choices is the only thing that makes you think long and hard about the purchase!! You can't go wrong with this case no matter the age of the person you're purchasing for!!!

No dissapointments with an Otterbox defender case. Otterbox makes the most durable cases available for all sorts of electronic devices. Although a bit pricey, well worth the price to protect today's expensive gadgets.. I highly recommend. BTW.. Otterbox customer service is great. I had an issue with my teenage daughter's defender case. But with a lifetime warrantee, Otterbox promptly replaced it. A joy to deal with over the phone.

I'm very, very satisfied on my first Otter Box - Defender Series Case (black) which I bought when I got my iPhone 4. I didn't hesitate to buy my second one (gray/yellow) when I saw it advertised for 50% off the regular price. I wonder who can resist buying and very good product and for that price. I hope that the company will continue improving in making this product the BEST and come up with more color combination!

This is the second OtterBox protector I've owned. They have saved my phone from several accidents that would have surely broken the phone if it had not been in cased in the OtterBox. When it was time for a new phone, I removed my phone from the case and it looked new. Not one blemish, so I got the maximum trade in value. The cost of the OtterBox is well worth it's protective value.

I just purchased another Otter Box for my iPhone as I had broken the previous one. I strongly recommend anyone with an iPhone that is out and about get one of these. Think of it like this 'It is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it'!! Same as insurance, right? You can always look cool to your friends, even with an otter box on your belt!!

This is a great case for my student athlete. Without a heavy duty case, my daughter's phone becomes mysteriously cracked within 2 months. With this case, we've gone a whole year so far without an incident. I've also had an Otter Box on my iPhone 4 since the day I purchased it 3 yrs ago, and it still looks brand new. I'm very pleased with the durability and protection.

This may have been a close out or it was on a major sale. I wanted a black one but they were almost $50.00. I bought this because it was only $20.00. Once I got it it looked great on my phone. Glad I didn't go with the common black one. Thanks Best Buy

Easy to install on iPhone. Durable and stays clean. Easy to take on and off for cleaning. Protects phone well.

It's August, 2017 and I've just now updated phones lol. But my Otterbox defender series case for my iPhone 4s (yes I said 4s) has saved my phone many a time. I would have had to get a new phone a lot sooner if it weren't for Otterbox. And BTW, My new phone, the iPhone SE will be in an Otterbox on day 1 !!

I have dropped my phone out of a Semi truck twice and down the stairs once with this Otter Box case on my iphone and the phone still works great! The screen didn't shatter or anything. I have had an Otter Box case on this phone for almost 3 years and when I take the case off, it still looks brand new. I would never buy any other case for my phone.
