Good remake of the original film, casting was good as well. Justice made to the film.

Couldn't come close to orig but still found it enjoyable.

This is a very good remake of a 1980's action movie. They changed the enemy and some of the story line. I like the new story line and comraderie that is formed during the movie. I think the end finishes with a great Patriotic tone and leaves you wanting more but surprisingly satisfied! Excellent picture and sound quality!

I am a big fan of the original red dawn, written and directed by john milius. It's setting and the eclectic cast made it a movie to remember, even though is was panned as jingoistic by the liberal media critics. The remake is more polished, but loses something by being based in a city rather than the more rural area. In addition, the way the older brother is killed is a bringdown compared to the original ending, where you are not really sure what happens to the character. The other thing about the original is the tremendous cast of character actors playing ancillary roles, like William Smith, Powers Boothe, Harry Dean Stanton, Ben Johnson, Ron O'Neal, Roy Jenson and Vladek Sheybal, the all-time communist bad guy.

While not completely orignial story, it's nicely updated. The casting was good and the plot moved effectively. The ending left a bit to be desired and was so open ended a sequel is needed to really bring the story full circle. Without a sequel (or even 30 more minutes), the overall film is just okay.

For a remake, this movie was a great twist on the story. Took me right in and before I knew it the movie was over. No long drawn out boring parts, made me feel for the characters. Must add to your collection.

I liked the first Red Dawn, but the story wasn't really believable. I think the action was better in this version, and the plot was a little more realistic.

I enjoyed this remake movie. The story was updated for modern times and, while I was pretty sure I knew how it would end, there were enough surprises along the way to keep me engaged.

This was actually for my dad for Christmas but he really enjoyed it (and he doesn't do anything with digital copies, so that went to me, and I got to try it, too). It's a pretty good movie.

I saw the original Red Dawn way back when. I was excited to see a remake. Overall, it is a good movie. However, I would have liked a little more character development and more action.

This is a good escape movie. Lot's of action and stuff blowing up. Neither great film literature, nor complete dreck. I'm glad I bought it. That is all.

I never saw the original, but felt very satisfied with this movie. Fun cast, fun story, definitely a good movie to watch with friends on a Saturday night.

Several parts in the movie were unexpected. I do like the new twist of it being Korea and not just Russia. Could be a bit better, but it is somewhat a remake.

I'm usually skeptical of remade movies but this one didn't really disappoint. I don't really remember the original though, been a long time since I've seen it.

Lots of action, it is what it is. If you watch movies for entertainment, this is fine - I didn't go into it hoping for a deeper meaning, so it did not disappoint.

I think that "Red Dawn" was one of the greatest classic action films of all-time and it was also one of my favorite films of all-time and was an even better film than the original "Red Dawn". I also think that this film had a lot of entertaining and enjoyable action, mystery, suspense and drama including a really great and amazing cast, plot and storylines as well.

Red Dawn definitely keeps you interested throughout the whole movie handsdown. Excellent cast. Four Stars out of respect for the original.

I had my doubts of this remake. The plot is kinda hokie, but some of the action sequences are good. Nothing can take over the originals.

Not as good as I had hoped it to be. Guess they didn't blow up enough of Detroit in this for me. Original is better in my opinion
