We've had ours now about 6 months and could not be happier. The self-closing vent saves a lot of hassle in cleaning. The running is quieter than our older Whirlpool that we replaced when it died. The price is a HUGE value, the capacity is a GREAT value for the dollar compared to other national brands... the speed cooking options are great, easy for the kids to use, great for the husband too, he doesn't have to ask 100 questions to use this. It even looks sleek and much more expensive than it is. SUPER value for the money, worth every penny, and we picked it over pricier options, including the LG and others the store was really advertising more heavily. You can't go wrong with this one. LOVE IT!

I have the Model SMH717WHC - it looks exactly the same. Total electronic failure (cooling fan problem) within a month of purchase, which took Samsung 3 visits to fix (free of charge at least). Then just after the 1-year warranty expired the entire electronic system failed - it shuts itself down after 3-5 seconds and completely blacks out. The vent fan stopped working. The light underneath blew out within the first month - and it's over $20 to replace the dinky little lightbulb. So we have been without a fan, a light, and a functional microwave basically since we installed the thing 3 years ago. It'll be over $150 to even attempt to repair, so it's going in the trash. Don't waste your money.

We LOVE our samsung microowave! It has a ton of great features including the best over-range microwave exhast fan on the market, and very even heating. The timing element and controls are very easy to use, and the rack in the microwave makes for a lot of extra space for food. The only bad part about this microwave is the outside handle. It is made very flimsy compared to the rest of the unit and within a few months of having the microwave it broke. Even with the shoddy handle, I would still buy this product though...it's positive elements far exceed the negative.

It is very quiet when operating, and the reminding sound is great because my old microwave did not have this function. Everything is fine so far. The only thing I am unhappy is that the microwave door cannot be opened fully.Why? Because the door is opened from right to left, but my left cabinet beside the microwave is deeper than the microwave and the little space between them is not enough to wide open the door.

My light burned out the first 2 minutes of use. Now the fan motor for the inside of the microwave is out after the warranty. The customer service for Samsung is horrible. Save your money and buy a Maytag. All my Maytag appliances are six years old and still working like brand new.

This is the second problem I've had with my newly installed samsung kitchen suite... (the dishwasher also failed, and warrantly repair hasn't been able to get the parts in a month.) The unit cooks well, evenly, and is fairly stylish. Controls are fairly clear although not always intuitive. It does cook faster than my old one, so be careful with cooking times (sometimes going by the instructions on a package can lead to overcooking.) The downside is the fan - the fan does not appear to be working that well at all. I checked the installation, that appears to be fine. Based on my other experiences so far with Samsung appliances, I believe the unit is defective.

We bought this unit on sale and have been thrilled so far. So many great features and so easy to use. We were looking at other units that were much more expensive and did not have the features nor the sharp appearance as this unit does. Sensor cook is great as is the add minute button. We have been using it daily for over a month and are quite pleased. Would recommend. We bought this and the Samsung stove and they both look great in our kitchen and have exceeded expectations. Great value!

Bought it in March. Within a few weeks the vent failed. Contacted customer service, they provided company names for us to contact for repair. 1st company didn't repair micowaves, called another. A very young repairman showed up and said he didn't know anything about them. My wife had to give him manual so he could see how it worked. Son had to help him remove from wall. After awhile he decided the vent was not supposed to work, reinstalled, and left. Customer support was contacted and no response. I have replaced the Samsung with a different brand and that works great. I would not recommend a Samsung Microwave because of the poor quality of the product and bad customer support.

Great product, no problems to date. here is plenty of cooking space, rack very easy to remove for large dishes. This oven is very quiet during the normal cooking cycle and it has two other speeds with it's turbo fan switch if needed. It's a beautiful looking oven with plenty of options.

Worked for 1 week and stopped heating. Samsung sent out a tech and board went bad. Had to order parts from Samsung. Took another week. Tech came back and Samsung sent the wrong parts. So microwave still sitting on counter after 3 weeks and still not working. Don't bother with this product. Because of this I will never purchase another Samsung product!

THIS MICROWAVE WORKED OK UNTIL IT HAD A COMPLETE & TOTAL MELT-DOWN 2 WEEKS AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED!!!! OF COURSE THEY WOULD NOT COVER IT. IF YOU BUY ONE GET THE 10 YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY PLAN.
