Ignorance is not Bliss

The Samsung 27" monitor that I purchased came with directions for installation, but assumed that someone more knowledgeable than I am would be installing it. Since it was an open-box purchase with an excellent rating and a steeply discounted price, I purchased it. When it arrived, I couldn't tell which of the several cables was the one I needed to connect the laptop and monitor, and I couldn't figure out where the port for the cable was on the laptop. Fortunately, I have younger relatives who have many more years of experience with these issues, and one of them was able to hook it up for me.
