Mid monitor, returned immediately. Got something with 2K instead.

Wanted to try the 240hz life and this monitor really didnt do it for me. Colors were washed out and the backlight bleed was noticable. Ended up returning my unit.

The Monitor is crystal clear and the response time as well as the refresh rate is lighting fast. A great budget option for a gaming monitor

TL;DR: a snappy, well-equipped monitor with only a few downsides Appearance: this monitor is a very attractive one. I personally like that it looks modern and sleek without looking garish and over-done. There are a few flaws in the appearance. The bezels, especially at the bottom, are a bit on the large side. Additionally, the blue turbine-looking piece on the back doesn't light up. I like the feature and the color, but I wish there was a light in it. Lastly, the cable management is a silicone strap on the back. I wish there was a channel running down the back instead. Performance: this monitor shines in performance. I hooked up my series x and my PC to it. The auto switch functionality works well and is really convenient. The responsiveness is like nothing I've experienced as this is my first monitor that's really designed around gaming. Most I've had are for general use with some gamer-friendly features. It made my series X feel snappier since it responds much quicker than my TV does. The high refresh rate makes things look buttery smooth and with no detectable input lag. The variable refresh rate (VRR) does work, though maybe not perfectly. Seems to work better on PC games than it does with the series X. It smoothed out some frame rate issues in Elden Ring, but wasn't perfect. The biggest cons I find with the performance of this monitor are resolution, contrast, and HDR performance. While 1080p is decent, especially at 27", it would seem like there's something left on the table as many displays have moved to 1440p and 4k. The contrast leaves a bit to be desired. I believe that's because it's an IPS panel vs VA or OLED, but it could be higher. The relatively lower contrast goes hand in hand with my other complaint. The HDR did not impress on this monitor. It has HDR10, but when you have somewhat low contrast and low peak brightness, the HDR suffers. The image is very crisp and colors seem well-balanced, but I wish it just had more of that HDR pop where bright highlights actually look bright. Solid monitor, would recommend, but it's not perfect.

This monitor is absolutely beautiful. The colors are very vibrant and active. The packaging is really well done. The panel itself is bright. Maybe even too bright. The darks are well produced as well. The darks are dark and not washed out. The response time is really quick at 1ms and having the refresh rate at 240Hz really ensures that you're not missing out on much. I enjoy gaming on this, but being only an FHD, it works for mid-spec computers, but if you have a really powerful PC, I'd go elsewhere. The design is futuristic. It has that gamer aesthetic to it, but not too brash. You can definitely have this in the office and not get too many weird looks. It's simple and gets the job done. The G-Sync is good and it's exactly what you would expect. The price does seem a bit steep for only being an FHD, and there is some ghosting as well, but not much in my experience. Overall, I think the monitor is good and you'll get an overall decent to good experience using this monitor. If you can try it out first, that might benefit you better.

Samsung – 27” Odyssey G40B IPS Monitor This 27” IPS gaming monitor has a bright clear screen with no display defects on every test. The stand it comes with is superb and well above this price point. It can tilt 22° up and 3° down, pivot 15° right and left for a total of 30°. The stand can lift the monitor from 3” to 8” from the bottom of the monitor to the desktop, and to top it off it rotates 90° either clockwise or counterclockwise. This type of stand is normally reserved for much higher priced monitors. The menu system indicates volume level, however it has no speakers. It passes the audio thru to a headphone jack in the back connector panel. The power LED has 2 options, on when on, or on when in standby. This is a little different but seems fine. However, the LED is a very small blue dot under the center name plate on the monitor. Unless you’re looking under the monitor you won’t see it. It has 2 HDMI ports, 1 Display port, 1 headphone port, and 1 USB port. The USB port is for firmware updates. As of this writing there are no firmware updates, there aren’t even any windows drivers for it. Samsung USA does not have this monitor on their site. If you call Samsung, they will send you the link to download the drivers from the Canada site. I have no doubt that this will be fixed very soon. The viewing angle is also superb, I noticed no bleed or fade at any angle, right, left, above, or below. It has a resolution of 1920x1080 making it very easy to read small text. It supports G-Sync as well as AMD FreeSync up to 240Hz. Using it as just a monitor you can set it to 120Hz. When gaming it will go well above that with no streaking. There are gaming options in the menu system but I was unable to get any of those options to turn on. I either have something not configured correctly or those setting will become active with a firmware update. The monitor comes with 1 HDMI cable and 1 Display port cable. Both cables are high quality and a normal length. A note about the menu system, it seemed to me that unless you had an active input, about the only thing I could do was turn it on and off, with a few other options as well. Once an active input is applied the menu system opens up a little more. I’m sure this is where I failed at getting the gaming system to open up. I was testing it with an RTX-2070 Super, on an HDMI connection, I may have not gotten the configuration correct. I had no issues playing any game, but the menus were greyed out to me. Again, not being supported in the US yet probably played a roll in this. Samsung will get that straight soon I’m sure and may even have it done but the time this review is out.

So I have been using a 3440 x 1440 MSI 100hz monitor for a probably a couple years now. My PC setup has Ryzen 5600x and RX 6700xt. The fps was decent averaging around the 100hz refresh. I recently decided to take the hit on a lower resolution with much higher refresh. Thats where this monitor comes in. I was very hesitant on dropping the resolution because of using a 1440p for so long. HOWEVER, this monitor is actually pretty sharp for 27" 1080p, it surprised me! The color seems very accurate, the refresh is really smooth, it has HDR, and the stand is very adjustable. So far I havent really noticed ghosting during gaming and the refresh is very smooth. Freesync seems to work perfectly fine, I havent noticed any crazy screen glitching yet even though I am only about 170fps average (display port). I play Call of Duty, Palia, Dauntless, Star Wars Old Republic, and a bunch of others. I would say I feel like this monitor is a great option for a gaming monitor. If you are not trying to go for the best of the best.. Definitely worth giving it a try!

The Samsung 27" Odyssey monitor is a great monitor for just about any task (gaming, productivity, streaming etc.). Connectivity wise you have two HDMI 2.0 ports, one DP (display port - NOTE: this is not listed in the specs), one USB-A port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. While the USB port is meant for servicing, I like to use it as a power source to charge 5v low power things like wireless earbuds. The monitor was nicely packaged and came with a power supply, HDMI cable and DP cable. Setup was straight forward and easy. Out of the box I didn't feel the need to adjust any settings. This is an IPS panel and the viewing angle is fantastic, 178 degrees. Two of us playing a multi player game had no issues at all seeing things clearly. Likewise the 240hz refresh rate and 1ms response time make for very smooth action in both gaming and video action. The contrast is excellent. Blacks were velvet black and not the dark gray you sometimes see in cheap monitors. The monitor can be extremely bright, which is a plus for a bright room. Of course the brightness is adjustable and in a moderately lit room I have the brightness at about 50% and it's plenty bright enough. The panel does get a little warm, and I wish that it had built in speakers but those are minor considerations. I'm very happy so far with this monitor.

Purchased for my son and LOVES it! Have always shopped at Best Buy for my electronic needs, never disappointed.

For my review of this Samsung - 27" Odyssey G40B FHD IPS 240Hz 1ms G-Sync Gaming Monitor, I give it a 5 out of 5 stars. Out of the box the monitor is very easy to assemble. Simply attach the base to the stand neck, fasten tight with screw, and push the assembled stand into the main body per figures as shown. The monitor glides well on the stand, up and down, pivots left and right, and finally rotates from landscape to portrait all with ease. Under the Samsung logo at the bottom of the monitor yields the 5-way multi-directional control button to aid in your video set-up. On the back of the monitor you will find an audio port for headphones or earphones, 2-HDMI ports, display port, USB port for software upgrades via thumb drive, and a 19V DC power port. This monitor packs all the features needed for every day use, graphics design, and gaming. The 27” display is good to used in confined spaces or to pair with another monitor for dual monitor use. This IPS (In-Plane Switching) panel type monitor allows for great color consistency along with viewing from extreme angles. The monitor brightness at 400 cd/㎡ (or 400 NIT) is good for use in bright rooms without the need for shades. The response time of 1ms (Gray-To-Gray) combined with the max 240 Hz refresh rate allows for ultra-smooth gameplay without blur or lag. The icing on the cake making this a monitor to own is the FreeSync Premium and G-Sync Compatible features. You cannot go wrong with this monitor and highly recommend it. I got this monitor to use with my gaming computer. Setting up the monitor with the computer took more time than I expected, but it wasn’t too bad. The directions were not very clear. There was some confusion with the cords. I felt there should have been a remote, but since its just a monitor, I guess that’s why there wasn’t one. The initial on-screen instructions were in Spanish as the default language. It was a little challenging to change to English, because I do not speak Spanish. After a few attempt, I was able to switch over to English. Once everything was set up, I was very impressed with the screen resolution. The colors are very vibrant, high resolution. The pictures are very clear, it looks like you can reach out and touch the images. Very good screen resolution. I feel like I am playing my games in HD, The monitor is just the right size. It makes playing my games more fun. The stand is adjustable, so I am able to move it to different heights. The base is stable. It was relatively easy to set up the monitor itself. No complaints. I am very pleased with this monitor.

This Monitor Was Easy To Setup . Literally 3 Clicks and its put together . The Crosshair Feature is the best that i have used . I used to mainly use my 144hz lg monitor with the same crosshair feature but the 240hz stood out with games like cod and apex , and the crosshair makes it so easy to aim on to enemies it feels like cheating lol

Nicely designed IPS mid range gaming monitor for 1080 gamers. High refresh panel which is G Sync compatible (certified with Displayport cable by Nvidia). Note that G Sync compatable is a step below full G SYNC and may give you less options in certain games (there are several articles and videos on available showing the differences). Panel is 240 Hz and functioned well in the games I tested. Excellent stand able to turn portrait if so desire. HDR400 which is lower HDR specification which is absent on many gaming monitors especially in the FHD range. No speakers although with HDMI cable your PC will think the monitor is a sound output device (this can be confusing). Outside of gaming I find a 16:9 1920 x 1080 panel quite frustrating. Pixel size is large at 27 inch and if doing spreadsheets or even web browsing you will be scrolling quite a bit. If watching videos or connecting a console you should be fine but I greatly prefer at least 1200 pixels vertically outside of gaming. Viewing angles are quite good and the monitor and stand have a quality feel which I prefer over say an inexpensive Dell monitor.

The Samsung 27" Odyssey G40B FHD IPS 240Hz 1ms G-Sync Gaming Monitor in Black is a very nice monitor tuned for rendering games quickly and beautifully. The monitor comes very nicely packaged and is easy to set up needing only that its bottom support feet be screwed into the monitor. It fires up quickly once plugged in using Samsung's proprietary power cord and comes with both video and HDMI cords. I'd recommend you use the video cord for speed and qwuality rendering/color. The Samsung 27" Odyssey G40B FHD IPS 240Hz 1ms G-Sync Gaming Monitor is designed to be used with current day games but its fabulous color saturation and brightness makes it great for everyday computing as well. The monitor adjusts up/down, sise to side and tilts to the position you find perfect. I am replacing an HP 24" monitor that is getting somewhat old and tired and am amazed at the difference in quality this new monitor has and the brightness and quick start up it exhibits. I had no idea monitors could be improved so much in just a few years. For the money, I would definitely recommend this monitor to you!

Great monitor ive always bought predator monitors expensive monitors this is a GREAT cheap alternative honestly for the price theres nothing wrong with it one of the best monitors ive had

went from a 4k 120hz to a 1080p 240hz only reason being is that it was way too big and my eyes would get irritated because of how close i was. Perfect replacement and i’m happy with it.
