I really love my Gear S2 Classic watch. I have had NO trouble with it whatsoever in the 4+ months that I have had it, and wear it almost daily. In fact, it is very hard for me to leave home w/out it! LOVE the notifications, which keep me from always pulling my phone out of my purse. Most of them are things that I don't want to immediately respond to, so has saved time and energy. I have bought some off market watchbands to change it up (easy to change out), and with that, it goes with EVERYTHING! I initially worried that it would be too big on my wrist (I have pretty small wrists), but it is absolutely perfect. Many watch faces that you can choose from, or make your own with the Timemaker app (I think that's what it's called). If you are on the cusp of buying one, just go ahead and do it! You will quickly justify the money you have spent!

I'm a big Samsung guy. I love Samsung, I live Samsung, I breathe Samsung. So this review might be a little biased. That said, this watch is amazing. I previously had the Samsung Gear S watch that came before it and I absolutely loved it. The only problem I had was that the interface seemed a bit simplistic and dated. It also didn't look like a real watch. When I went out with that big, black, chunky Gear S on my arm people knew I was a techno-geek. That might've been cool when I was younger, but these days I'm looking for something a lot more sophisticated. The Gear S2 Classic, in that vein, is perfect for me. It possesses the ability to send and receive text messages, download apps, its battery life is good (2-3 days, more if you leave it on Power Saving mode), it has some beautiful and functional watch faces, and comes with a leather strap. Oh, and did I mention it looks like a regular watch? That's right - it looks like a regular watch. It'll fit with all your clothes. The strap can be changed out to any other standard size watch strap (22 mm I believe). It's dust and water resistant so I don't have to worry about washing my hands and frying it. I have the CNN watch face right now because it shows me any news stories with just the flick of my wrist. I love the rotating bezel as well - it makes navigating a breeze. The only downside to this model is that it has no speaker on it and doesn't make any sound. It only vibrates. My previous Gear S was capable of actually answering phone calls; this one can't. There is a Gear S2 Sport model that AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile all carry which DOES have the ability to answer phone calls and make noise. Just make sure you know the difference. Also keep in mind that this does not have a UV sensor that'll tell you to put on sunscreen, nor does it (at the time of writing) have the ability to track your sleep patterns. That was a little bit of a bummer, but I've read online that they're considering adding that feature to the Gear S2. They also need to focus on adding more apps because right now, the app store is mostly watch faces and only a choice few really good apps (such as Uber, Lifesum, CNN, News Republic, Bloomberg Business, and a few others). That said, it doesn't bother me enough to knock off a point. I HIGHLY recommend this watch to people because it's extremely well-made, durable, handsome, good battery life, changeable watch straps, nifty apps, notifications, and overall just a cool, stylish experience that makes me think Samsung is finally upping their game. This little guy can definitely give the Apple Watch a run for its money.

From my point of view this is an excellent product because I specifically did not want a second phone to wear on my wrist. I mostly wanted notifications and such and the ability to make limited responses. If you are looking for the other type of watch that has everything your phone does on your wrist this is not the right one for you. Technologically for me this is a five out of five but I did take one star off because While it give me everything I want the only reason I went with this instead of the much cheaper pebble is that this looks nicer but price-wise it's pretty steep for the functionality. Also you get to use the whole screen, and while the Moto 360 is a very nice watch that little slice out of the bottom of the screen just irritates the heck out of me. The battery life is okay if you don't leave it in always on mode and it does a very good job of guessing when you are looking at the watch face and lighting up during those times

    Very Nice Smart Watch

I have now been using this watch for about a month. I think it is a very nice smart watch. The battery life I have found to be very good, although I do not use it in the always on mode. A friend of mine has the same watch, does use the always on mode and says batter lasts a full day. Although I charge it every night for convenience, I have been able to get a full two days from the watch when I needed to. I am not thrilled with the settings on the buttons. While you can change what holding down one button does to a couple of options, otherwise the buttons go back one screen or return to home screen. I think one of them should allow you to select the app being pointed to. I also would have liked to be able to change the rotation direction for selecting my widgets. From the main clock face, you rotate clock-wise to go through widgets (not apps that is a different screen) that have things like temperature, calendar, step count, heart rate, and some others depending on what you add. You then rotate counter-clockwise to get notifications. I wish I could change that so notifications would be clock-wise and widgets counter-clockwise. But I love the rotating bezel. I love the available watch faces. The apps that are available, while not as extensive as Android or Apple markets have been more than sufficient for what I want from a watch. The watch looks very nice, and so far has stood up to regular everyday office use and my kids occasionally pulling on it. (I will note that I have purchased an after-marked metal watch band which I very much like because I am not a fan of leather watch bands. But the band that came with the phone was very nice if you like leather bands.) The watch is not heavy. It does not look or feel bulky. I am a man, and it fits onto my wrist very nicely. The touch screen sees appropriately sensitive. I would say 90-95% of the time my swipes and taps do what I intended them to do. The vibration response (I have on high) provides me notice of e-mails and other things, but is not so loud or buzzy (not sure if that is actually a word or not) that it would alert anyone else that I am getting a notice on my watch. I should also note that the device is paired with my Droid Turbo, not a Samsung phone. However, the app that Samsung has you download to get the watch and phone to work together has been great. I have had no issues getting e-mails, having my calendar sync, getting phone call notifications, etc. As of this moment, from the smart watches I have looked at, I think this is the best one out there. I do wish it was a little more customizable. I have looked at other android watches, and my wife has the apple watch. I like my Gear S2 better than her apple watch, and I liked it more than the other android watched currently on the market. No doubt there will be improvements and perhaps in a couple years something better will come along. But if you have been looking to get a smart watch, as I was, but have been waiting for one that is worth the money, I think this one is it. I have found it to be the addition I was looking for and the price was worth it.

Prior to purchasing this watch I had an Apple Watch. The Gear S2 is better in several ways. First, it looks great. I get compliments all the time. Battery life is much better and the haptic feedback is also very good. I like the way you can select and modify watch faces within the phone app and the additional watch faces add flexibility and fun. Alerts work great and the watch is easy to use. I also like the rotating bezel versus the crown on the Apple Watch. This one is a real winner!

I originally was turned off of the Samsung wearable devices due to the square screens and being very thick. The new Gear S2 is neither of those, and for me perfect. My last smartwatch (Mote 360) died on me so I got this. Works great with my Motorola phone. App selection is a little limited, but all of the watch features work great, and in several ways are better than the Moto. The rotating bezel design is awesome, and very easy to navigate. Heart rate sensor is much more accurate than the moto as well. Where I had to hold still and have the moto tight on my wrist the Gear S2 works all day on it's own to get my measurements, without me doing anything. Wish it synced with more apps such as Strava and Google Fit, but for now I am using the Samsung apps. They are ok, just not as feature rich as other apps.

This is a tough review as it's my 1st smart watch and I wasn't sure what I really expected in one. First off I knew it had to function and look like a standard watch, it does this perfectly. Secondly, for me, I did not want a watch to talk on the phone or take pictures. I'm sorry but I'm not talking into my wrist. Being able to get all my notifications and interact with them quickly has been a nice feature, it's definitely a time saving feature I wasn't expecting. The size of the screen is good and typing on it is not impossible, but not ideal as it is small, as with any watch. The Gear Manager allows you to pre-load quick responses or reply with an emoji. The Galaxy Store is not fully loaded with apps but I think has enough to satisfy. The fact it does not run Android (Google) might be a concern for you to make prior to purchase. I have Google synced on all my devices except this one and I don't see it as being an issue as I can get my calendars and contacts on it. Purchasing the Classic version was the only option for me as I knew I wanted the option to change the watchband and this one uses a standard size and swaps out quickly. I'd suggest deciding what you want in a smart watch before purchasing any of them. Once you do that take a strong look at this one because what it does, it does quite well and looks great.

awesome watch if there were more apps it would deffinately get 5 stars, i bought my wife the white with silver gear s2, loved hers so much i had to buy my own, i get alot of complements on the look of my watch, had a few people tell me it reminded them of the dick tracy watch, never saw the use of it having a speaker on it (kinda weird to be talking into a watch and having random people listening to my conversation) again the apps are limited but im content with the apps it does have, would love to see s voice work better or maybe like google voice app

Better watch than I was expecting! So I bought this watch as a reward to myself for getting a promotion. I am very picky when it comes to splurging on an expensive product so it took me awhile to decide on getting one. I couldn't be happier with this watch! The apps are a bit limited but they include useful ones such as a messaging app (you can send messages via the watch), heart monitor, step counter, call history, event reminders, weather, music player, and my fave so far the watch face app. It doesn't have a speaker or a mic so there's no talking into it like Ethan Hunt (although you'll feel like an agent with it on :) ) This particular model is a nice sturdy, quality feel and you can even customize it with any 20 mm wrist band. ( i recommend the MODAL steel wristband Best Buy sells). Lastly, it's weird to say this but the watch actually has given me confidence (it's a wonderful conversation starter) and it has a luxury look to it. Pros: Convenient access to phone notifications, watch faces are highly customizable. Cons: no mic, no speaker, pricey (but worth it !!!)

    Clearly The "Smart" Choice

I've been monitoring the market for quite some time now. I have coworkers with the bulky Apple watches who gave hit or miss reviews, but then there's the stylish S2 Classic. I actually waited for the S3 to roll out and wait for the video reviews before I bought this one. I prefer the S2 over the S3 because it isn't as tall. You'll notice identical components, memory and power between the two. The S3 does have a larger battery to compensate for the larger screen. The S2 Classic fits me and my style perfectly. I get a lot of compliments on how nice it looks. It performs very well. I could ding it for the one time it glitched, but one incident doesn't merit a deduction. Basically there must have been a hanging process that quickly drained the battery. I almost became bored of the watch, until a coworker challenged me with "wouldn't it be cool if it could do..." ...long story short, it does it all. I can quickly reply to text messages to my wife at work, check game scores, weather, send driving instructions, use voice commands, etc. It's been a really nice tool to simplify my day to day life. It also updates me when I reached my walking goal and tracks my heartbeat. Same OS as the S3, but if you're looking for a bigger screen 1.2in vs 1.3in, then S3 will be your best bet. For me, 1.2 is perfect and the watch isn't as tall. It does what I need it to do and it has all the bells and whistles that I like. I don't regret the purchase one bit. I've had this S2 Classic for about a month so far and absolutely love it!

I am in love with my Samsung Gear S2 Classic in Rose Gold! I've had it for a month now and enjoy it. It's mostly for getting notifications ASAP instead of having to check my phone every 5 minutes. The speak to text works well. Syncing with my phone via Bluetooth was super easy! Full charge on the watch lasts about 2 days. Very feminine which was why I bought it since the others looked too sporty. Changing the band was hard to do but was doable. Overall, I love it and glad I made the purchase!

I purchased this item for the fitness and notification features and have been very satisfied. Pros: - Communications with my Galaxy phone have been flawless. - The device has performed very well and the rotating bezel is a great feature. - There are many free watch face selections of varied tastes. - Being able to see messages at a glance has been very useful. - Integration to fitness applications has been a plus. - Very good looking device, even on my small wrists (Gone are the days of clunky smart watches). - Great selection of economical, third party wrist bands to replace leather bands for running. - The battery had plenty of juice left at the end of the day (40% or more). Cons: - No great application for target heart rate monitoring. - Minimal selection of apps (Not that there is any application other than the previously mentioned that I am missing) If you're in the market for an android compatible smartwatch, this is one of the nicest looking options, that goes great with business attire, or to the gym. I love being able to put my phone in my pocket and forget about it.

The watch is beautiful. Everything on it works great except when I go to use the speak to type method. It will freeze on me having to restart the watch. Also not being able to talk into it for a phone call kind of something I don't like. I bought this one mostly because it's prettier and classier than the others. Besides the talk to text problem I have not had no issues.

I bought the Neo 2 when it came out and have worn it for 18 months. So when the S2 came out I really wanted something that was better. And that is exactly what the S2 is. It is easier to read text, email and so much better looking. This watch just feels right. The circle crown makes navigation a simple and natural function.

Was unsure about this one while I was at the store. The biggest selling points to me were size (its not too big!) and the rotating bezel. That rotating bezel is so intuitive when navigating the menus. Also, when they say you can go two days without charging, it's true. I haven't tried the Gear S3 but if you can find this model, go for it.

I don't have a lot of experience with smart watches. I bought one in the past and never used it so I was hesitant to buy this one. But I'm glad I did. It's sleek and simple to use. The watch faces let you dress it up or dress it down. I really like the turning bezel. Makes it a little easier to navigate instead of having to swipe the little screen. Only thing I found that I didn't like was when using it to reply to a text, some words I was trying to type couldn't be typed out. That happened mostly when trying to abbreviate things so it wasn't that much of a pain. Haven't had any issues with the battery. I can usually make it two days without having to charge it.

initially i got this watch as a xmas gift from my wife only because the s3 had been out of stock awhile, so i enjoyed this watch and with the new update had all the options the s3 had, accept the obvious changes like speaker etc. the battery life is pretty good when you set up your options right, but i mean these are smart watches if they make it through the day u just pop it on your charger at night, i dont use the sleep option much in the app since i dont like it on my wrist while sleeping, but the watch looks great and the pricing was good on sale when i bought it. only reason for me wanting to upgrade to the s3 is because of the speaker option and the size, but this watch for me did what it was supposed to do and looked great as well! the screen is pretty amazing on the s2 and s3

I initially bought the Samsung Gear S2 Classic Smartwatch on a whim, but have thoroughly enjoyed it. It packs in a load of features, while not being too bulky. It has a nice sleek design and a comfortable leather band. Out of the box, it's incredibly easy to ooperate and can be mastered with a small amount of time spent using it. So far I have loved it as a great accessory to track my runs, a quick way to change songs playing on Pandora when my phone isn't nearby, and quickly responding to texts and emails. That in itself is easy as well as the keyboard is very responsive. My only real negative so far is that there have been a lack of developed apps for the watch. And while that will hopefully come, it's the only reason I can't give it a perfect grade.

In the medical profession, there are often times I cannot use my hands to reach for my phone. This is where the Samsung Gear S2 excels, I will never miss a call, text, or summon. This is incredibly useful as I need to be in specific places at a moment's notice. However, the use of the Gear S2 is just that, a fancy text or call. The apps are limited now and I'm not certain what else I can use the smart watch for. The feel, look, and responsiveness of the screen is great. All my colleagues love pushing buttons and rotating the bezel. If I had a the choice, i would purchase this item again.
