Picks up everything fine, comes in handy when out of town you can always vacuum your home

This is my second robo-vacuum, first from Shark and I was excited to check this out as our current/previous robo-vacuum, from Ecovacs, has been a life saver. Out of the box, this is nothing special, as is common with most Shark products, and nothing I’ll dock them points for. It’s just not premium packaging and that’s OK. If anything, I actually appreciated how minamilist the packaging was where I wasn’t ending up with loads of styrofoam and plastic to toss at the end. While there was some, which is needed for shipping, it wasn’t overdone like many products. Setup of the vacuum system is largely painless and quick. We set the self cleaning dock up on the floor, placed the vacuum on the dock, setup their app, and were largely off to the races. The instructions that come with the packaging were much more associated with how to download the app as opposed to how to use the vacuum which was an interesting decision to say the least, but using the vacuum isn’t rocket science. Once the app is setup, product registered, wifi connected and bluetooth established, you will send the vacuum (which mine came charged) on a mapping quest along your floor. We have a large floor plan and it seemed to get the job done in about 20min, so setup from the start to finish was really brief. Once established, in the app, it’ll show a picture of your floor plan and if it looks accurate, you can start cleaning. My mapping was accurate the first time for context. Once mapping is to your liking, you can take a few minutes to label and separate each room, thus being able to send your vacuum to only specific areas to clean in the future, or what I most commonly will use is just the option to clean the entire area. The robot seems to do great with avoiding obstacles, even thinner fabrics like closing, it would touch but turn away from. The vacuum has different suction modes based upon how powerful you’d like the cleaning to be with their ultimate being the “matrix cleaning”, which seems to have the highest suction power but does two run throughs of a zone with different cleaning patterns for the ultimate clean. I will acknowledge that as someone who is hard to impress, not only was the floor so clean after using this, but the lines looked great too. Obviously the more power and longer the robot stays out, the more battery it will draw in, but even then, I had it clean large areas on Matrix mode and over an hour later the machine still had battery left. In instances where the battery gets low enough during cleaning, you can establish a rule for it to return to the dock and recharge. On the app, you’re also able to establish schedules for the vacuum, “no go” zones, or additional rules such as returning to the dock to empty itself every 30min on longer cleaning runs. The emptying process is certainly a bit loud but it has a scent diffuser built in and always makes the room smell nice when emptying, which is a bonus touch, though I don’t know how long that’ll last. My only gripes come from the lack of instruction provided especially on the app, as you’re kind of left to your own devices to sort this out. Additionally, the other night, and I have no idea why but I thought someone was legitimately breaking into our home as the bedroom door was rattling, only to find out that the vacuum has just gone off and was running into our door repeatedly, though I hadn’t yet established a schedule for it. Didn’t love that, nor know why it occurred but it’s something to be potentially aware of. Either way, the quality of the cleaning, ease of use once established, ability to make “no go” zones, mapping, spot cleaning, and schedules, makes this such a life saver when it comes to time and energy, especially for those with pets.

Love it on my wood floors. Have a dog that sheds and have to to run 3days per week has cut way down on the dog hair I have to clean up

At first, I must admit I was very skeptical about the Shark robots vacuuming capabilities. After having it for a few months, I can honestly say it's the nest purchase I have ever made. It's unbelievable how much dust, hair, and anything else that it picks up. Makes my life and housecleaning a lot easier. Highly recommended!

This vacuum is quite loud and gets stuck just as often as other vacuums, despite advertising otherwise. For the price, it’s not worth it—my old vacuum performs just as well and is much quieter

The Shark - Detect Pro Self-Empty Robot Vacuum with NeverStuck Technology has done a very good job at cleaning with a few minor hiccups. Unboxing and set up was pretty easy, I had no problem connecting to my mesh router. It did take a little longer than some other products (not vacuums necessarily) but eventually it connected through the app , registered and started mapping. It took two full runs to map my area. I did make it somewhat difficult with items placed where they were. I also cleared the map and removed obstacles, it mapped in one run just under 35 mins for about 900 sq ft. The mapping process did take two full runs, however I am using this upstairs and there is a lot of furniture and things to navigate. I purposely left some things lying around to see how it would handle them. Once it was mapped and those items were removed, it cleaned all those areas and spots. I also moved some furniture around and on subsequent runs it cleaned those areas once it sensed the items were no longer there. This is probably the quietest robot vacuum I have had to date, even on high power it is pretty quiet. Power settings are managed through the scheduling portion of the app. There are several limitations I find to be somewhat of a deal breaker depending on what you are looking for. You are not able to schedule this to run twice in a day. Although that may be overkill I have needed that to happen occasionally. You also cannot label rooms using free text, there are preloaded room names which you must use. Altering the map and creating "no go" zones is pretty simple, as is naming rooms. The app has all the other normal information and links for ordering supplies, assistance and support. To date, about two weeks of use, my unit has gotten stuck three times. Once was on the edge of a stair, once under a desk with a chair, and once in between the wall and a bed frame leg. I would say all in all it has done a pretty good job of not getting stuck, those were some difficult areas. As far as cleaning goes, even on the eco setting, the unit cleans hard surface and carpet adequately. The side brush does not spin on carpet so I anticipate corners on carpet will be a little messy. The self emptying feature is a great addition and I probably wouldn't get a vacuum without this from now on. All in all this is a solid robot vacuum and I would recommend.

So impressed! Even knows when the chihuahua is after it! it definetely beats my previous robot as the company deecided to venture elsewhere.

Love that it goes over the rugs seamlessly and does great with dog hair.

This vacuum did an amazing job on my hardwood floors—left them shiny and very clean. However, the app was a big letdown. It mapped my home, but after that, there was no way to track cleaning progress or see what had been cleaned. I used to have a Deebot, which showed real-time updates and post-cleaning reports, and I really missed that functionality. Unfortunately, I ended up returning this vacuum because the app just didn’t meet my needs.

So far I have really loved this as compared to the three roombas I have had. I love the bag less trash collection

Vacuum works fine but the software is buggy. Lost my room assignments and had to recreate. App frequently hangs up on iPhone14 and force quit and restart need

Overall a great product but I do wish you could have more than one mapped area.

I love my momma shark, she is on a schedule and with 3 dogs and 3 adults in the home…all working( except for pups) it’s amazing!
