Being able to compare this to an equally great Shark vacuum (Shark professional model), I can definitely say this upright is worth the investment. It is very easy to assemble out of the box with two simple clicks and has a very long power cord giving you plenty of distance to clean more than one room before changing outlets. This vacuum is very light weight but has more than enough power to suck up the most demanding dirt, dust, and pet hair. The vacuum capacity is very good for the overall size while the maintenance and cleaning of the vacuum is also very easy and quick to do. The maneuverability of this vacuum is amazing and it almost feels like a toy while using it. It comes with all the accessories that you would need to clean in the tightest, lowest, or highest reach of places. You can the store the accessories in the included bag or just snap them onto the main vacuum tube which is more convenient. When not in use, store the vacuum in a closet or behind a door by just unclicking the main unit and setting it on the hook on top of the brush housing. This was much easier and convenient than installing the wall hook to store the vacuum in the upright position. This is the only negative that I could find with this vacuum which is not a deterrent from buying it. It is not able to stand on its own fully assembled, also the under dresser or table attachment has no place for storage on vacuum and does not fit in accessory bag. Overall this is a great vacuum and I am very happy with it.

I have a 3 story townhouse and this little vacuum works great on the stairs. It is lightweight and maneuvers well. Comes with a great collection of accessories. It has a long cord and is easy to store with the included wall mount. It has plenty of power and cleans well. My only ding is the canister is small and needs frequent emptying. Overall a great product.

I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. I have been looking for an easier way to vacuum my laminate floors for a few years. I have an original Dyson animal vacuum which still works great, but it's big, bulky, and a pain to drag around on the laminate floors. We tried the Dyson cordless vacuum and it was terrible. It could grab pet hair but left dirt and crumbs. I paid $300 and sold it at a yard sale for $40 for that one. This vacuum picks up crumbs, dirt, and, pet hair like a champ. It easily switches to carpet. It's a lot easier on my area rugs that my big vacuum. It is more powerful than I realized for sure. It sucked up a few cords under my desk and the straps to a pair of sandals! My only complaint is that the cord is much shorter than my other vacuum. I have to unplug it and plug it in as I move around, but it works 100 times better than the Dyson cordless vacuum we bought. I would recommend this vacuum!

This is one of the better purchases I've made, much better than the Dyson stick vac it replaced. The soft roller is great, I don't feel like I'm scratching the floor and it helps with the massive amount of dog hair in my house. I really like how the dust cup detaches and empties. I also like that the buttons to push for things like taking off the dust cup and detaching the body from the stick part are clearly marked and easy to figure out. Accessing the roller bar for cleaning is so easy, which is great since someone in my home has long hair that gets tangled up in the roller. It works great and I'm really happy that it has good performance on area rugs, something my Dyson stick vac didn't have. My only complaint is that it's top heavy by design, so you have to pay attention and not try to stand it upright. I love that they made it where you could remove the body and hook it onto the rest of the vacuum for stand up storage. Overall a great purchase!

Pros - The suction is very powerful suction. It is a compact vacuum that does not take up much space. The cord is long. The headlight is very bright. Cons - If you have weak hands or arms, you may have problems with this vacuum because it is top heavy. If you need to pause in the middle of vacuuming (to move furniture or something), you must lay the whole vacuum down because it does not stand up by itself. The wheels have left many black scuff marks on my floors, but the marks are easily wiped away with a magic eraser.

I love the fact that this vacuum has such a long cord; I don’t find myself repositioning it much at all. As far as the suction power, it gets the job done but I find that there might be some things left behind after a few uses. Just make sure to clean out the roller from the lint caught in the crossfire. After a little bit of use, my arm gets tired from pushing it around because it does get a little heavy but overall, I like this vacuum.

Have to admit I was surprised by how well this worked. It was bought for it's light weight and the different ways it could be configured. The one thing I don't like about it is that it is too top heavy to stand up without leaning it on something but, overall, I'm very satisfied. Ask me in a year if I still feel the same way.

While top heavy, it's highly maneuverable, stores in very little space and it's extremely easy to get to the rollers and filters for cleaning. I think it's great that I will no longer have to buy filters or bags. Of course, I'm sure the filters will have to be changed eventually, but not every year like on most other vacuums.

This vacuum is lightweight and pretty powerful. The only bad part about it is that you have to manually wrap the wire, and you have to dislodge the top part of it, in order for the vacuum to stand up by itself. It is easy to clean and easy to maneuver.

The relatively light weight is important to me, as is the good suction and easy ability to convert between floor and hand-held modes. The ability to vacuum under my couch is a big plus. I wish it had come with a short flexible hose, which would have made it easier to use some of wands.

I love this little vacuum - super versatile for my apartment, and all the accessories are really useful. The head is a little heavy, which is why it doesn't get five stars, but the suction is great, and I love how it works for hardwood floors. Definitely recommend.

Seems to vacuum well, but since the motor is up by the handle the whole thing is top-heavy and cannot stand on its own. When you take a break, there has to be a place to prop it up. Nevertheless, the light weight and flexibility outweigh that negative.

The vacuum overall is very good. I wish I knew that it doesn't stand upright with the actual vacuum head attached. This makes wrapping the cord a pain. Other than that it is very light and seems to clean well.

This is a nice machine, it has a good suction power. And it is a bit versatile also. However, a flexible hose along with this machine as an extra accessory would be a good thing.

It is versatile, strong suction and easy to store. It can't stand on its own since it is to heavy. I bought it to vacuum my couch. I like how it works on my wood floors.

An excellent cleaner for both hardwood floors and carpets. attachments are easy to use for baseboards and corners. The stick acyually lays flat to reach under furniture.

Awesome vacuum! Only complaint (not really even that) is that it can get a tad top heavy. But nothing unbearable. Suction and maneuverability is awesome.

This vacuum is very light and perfect for a two story home. Only drawback which I knew about is that it is top heavy but otherwise does a great job.

We've been an Oreck household for 20 years or more. The professional model I had from my single years finally broke down. She saw another Oreck on sale at a discount store and purchased it. It worked great, especially on carpeting, but unfortunately the upright was twice the weight of the original one we had. Bought her this Shark as a requested gift. She LOVES it. As efficient as the Oreck but lighter and great attachments. Reason for only four stars? Can't stand it up. It won't remain in an upright position. Have to hang it on a hook in a closet, lean it, or lie it down.
