If you aren't already a fan of this film than you will be. I must say first and foremost that this is a "love" story and anyone looking for an over-the-top action film may shy away from this film, but if you enjoy great films than I suggest you give it a try anyways. If you know anything about Japanese cinema than I'll tell you that some of Japan's biggest actors/actresses are in this film and Odagiri Joe stars in the main role (which should already spark any Japanese cinema buff's interest). I've been waiting for this film to hit blu ray and it is amazing. If you enjoy these kind of films I also suggest the following : Casshern, Goemon, Last Blood (Blood:The Last Vampire in U.S.A.), Kill

This movie is for you, especially if you're into the anime series "Basilisk" or if you just plain like action/romance movies about ninja. The cinematography is great and it has a excellent cast. I was a big fan of the beautiful Nakama Yukie (Oboro) and after watching this, I got way more than I expected. It could use a little more action from the main characters but other than that, all the action scenes were perfect. For the romance lovers, this is also a great movie for you to watch. I guess you can say that it's kind of like Romeo and Juliet except ninja-style.
