Expensive. Break easy. Although they are "tailored" to ear, I still find them to be uncomfortable. Sound quality isn't noticeably different from my iPhone head phones

The bass is nonexistent, The treble is radical. Also they look really good but with it being over $50 you would expect a better audio experience.

It has a weird design that hurts your ear after a while and the sound isn't that great you would expect more for that price

    Great for one day

As an audiophile I am always looking for the latest and greatest in earbuds and headphones. When I heard about these I was absolutely stoked, as they sounded like a steal for the price. Upon my first listen I was quite happy with the sound. The highs and lows were all great, and the bass wasn't muddled and overbearing where it wasn't wanted. I did find the fit to be a bit strange, as you have to pull your ear down in order to get them in properly. Regardless, the sound quality was worth it. The next day, after only a few hours of total listening, I discovered that the left earbud was humming and producing a lot of static. I tried several different songs, different devices, etc, but to no avail. I read more reviews and found that others had the same issue. Rather than bother with a replacement I went ahead and returned them, as they didn't feel worth the headache. I wouldn't recommend these to anyone, as it seems like quite a pricey gamble for a pair of earbuds that may or may not last you.

    Wanted to like these/warranty confusion

Ever since my Bose in-ear headphones got stolen, I've been forced to use the god awful apple earbuds for about 2 years. So when I finally rearranged my expenses (poor college student) to accommodate buying nice things such as clothes, music and small electronics, headphones were at the top of my list. I actually was making my way to the registers at my local Best Buy with the new Bose headphones in my hand, when out of the corner of my eye, I see a $59.99 price tag for what looked like decent headphones. I immediately got out my phone and looked up Sol Republic in-ear headphones on the Best Buy website. All the reviews seemed good, so I decided to save myself 40 bucks and walked out with these instead. I was VERY satisfied when I plugged them in to my iPod. The sound was clear, the bass was AWESOME, and the treble wasn't drowned out at all. There's just one issue. After only having these for 2 weeks, the sound is starting to crackle! It started in the left ear, and now, there's a very noticeable static noise in the right ear. I am very gentle with my headphones, so the only thing I can think it is, is an issue with their manufacturing. I am extremely disappointed because for 60 bucks, they are the best sounding headphones you can find. But that doesn't justify faulty equipment. I'm just going to return these and pay the $40 difference and get the Bose headphones. Another aspect of my problems is issues with the warranty. I always hate dealing with Best Buy insurance and warranties, because I can NEVER get much information on them. Even the pamphlet they gave me says absolutely NOTHING about how and when the warranty applies. It's just strategically written paragraphs telling me how awesome Best Buy warranty is and that I shouldn't worry about anything (uh huh...). And anytime I try to ask someone the details, they always dodge my questions and try to change the subject. It's just all really fishy. I purchased a $12 dollar 2 year warranty that covers damage. From what I was told, should my headphones break, then I can just bring them in, and get them replaced for the next 2 years. However, the man who sold me the insurance at the register said that it only covers ONE pair of headphones. Meaning, that should I exchange these ones, then my warranty would disappear and my new headphones wouldn't be covered. That just seems rather frustrating since the new pair of headphones are just as likely to break as the first pair. I honestly think I'm just done with Best Buy in general. Until they're a little more lenient on their warranties, I just can't handle the headaches they give me.

I picked up a pair of these after all of the pre-release hype online and was sadly disappointed. My first pair seemed to have a short in the right earbud, as it crackled and produced pretty much non-stop static. I returned the pair and exchanged for another set. These did not seem to have any physical defects, but the sound quality was pretty terrible. At anything but very low volume there was significant distortion. Bass and midrange frequencies at least seemed fairly balanced, but high frequencies were all distortion. Maybe Best Buy received a bad batch, but I'm not willing to try them for a third time. I exchanged the second pair for a set of Klipsch S4s and am very pleased with the results.

Ambient noise from mic ruins the experience.

The microphone noise is so annoying while listening to music I thought something was wrong with the product. I guess it would be ok if you don't move or if nobody is in the room with you making noise so if you are a catatonic hermit in a cave it's perfect. I use it at the gym and the mic picks up my movement noise, other people talking and clanking equipment and weights. Also, no matter what ear bud changes I make they just don't do a good job staying in your ear. It's just a horrible design that is a total ripoff at $59. Best Buy should quit carrying this junk. The worst listening device I have ever owned.

I can't get these to stay in my ears, no matter which gels I use. Also, I can't hear the phone - I think because they don't block any outside noise.

These are going back to the store tomorrow. I haven't had these headphones for week and the left side has already stopped working. I should have just bought dre beats, Klipsch, Bose or some other big brand. Avoid the hassle and just get real brands. Sol Republic can't keep up with the big boys yet. I suggest Sol Republic compete with the low end stuff first and work your way up. Sol Republic Meh...Wasted my time.

    Problems out of the box

I bought these headphones based on positive online reviews. Maybe I got a bad pair but they sounded pretty mediocore when I first tried them. After a very short listening period the headphones lost most of their volume. I tried using them with different devices but the problems remained. I will be exchanging them for a different brand.

These ear phones lasted a whole 2 minutes before the left ear had such bad static I could barely hear the song through it. Bass was very low to non-existent, and no matter what size cover I put on, they were uncomfortable. Going to take these back get a full refund.

They sounded great, they seemed like decent headphones, but mine died in the left ear after just three weeks of having them. I exchanged them for a different pair of headphones. I would not recommend them, headphones should not break this fast.
