My husband bought this for me for Christmas, and wow what a great gift. I love love this new speaker. It sounds amazing and Alexa is fun to use. It’s small, but packs a great sounds. I love being able to tell Alexa to turn on music and turn off the music. I can’t wait to add more to it. I only gave it four stars because it’s confusing to set up and doesn’t come with a lot of directions, plus I severely broke a nail trying to unplug the power from the base. I had to find the user info online, but that still wasn’t easy. However, once I figured out what I was doing it was easy. I highly recommend this product.

Beam and One Speakers - All Done and Great Sound!

I bought two of the Sonos - One (Gen 2) speakers to couple with the Sonos Beam (Gen 2) I have for my Samsung TV. I have a small 400 sq ft apartment so placement of all the elements was not ideal, but I am very happy with the overall sound quality. I like the idea that I can have the sound bar only playing at times for the TV and group in the two additional One speakers for movies, music and better cable sound programing. I also like the ease of "airplay" from my computer, iPhone and thru the TV itself. I've gotten used to using my cell phone as my "remote" for Sonos and I see the value of that now. I can still use my Roku, TV and BluRay remote independently as needed. I did have to contact Sonos Technical Support for help and they were amazing, Solved my issues and "schooled" me on some aspects of combining the One speakers to the Beam that really helped me understand the system. And a big warm thank you to the floor attendants in the TV/Sound dept of the Union Sq Best Buy store here in NYC for their exceptional knowledge, patience and time spent for all my questions on my multiple visits :D

Have this in an outside hut, the built in Alexa feature is a game changer! Easy to set up and flawless performance. I would suggest using the Sonos Truplay to get the best sound for your room.

The SONOS- Play:1 Wireless Speaker for Streaming Music ( Model # PLAY1US1BLK) does not have a female insert..The Sanus Speaker Stands contain a speaker bracket. The speaker is placed on top of the bracket but without any secure attachment to the Sonos... I bought at Home Depot a Simpson 90 degree construction bracket (5"x 5" x 1-1/2") cut it to size... Drilled two holes to attach the Sanus wall mount, painted the Simpson 90 degree, satin black to match the stand...End result, when I carry my three speakers on the Sanus Stand out to my patio on the weekends they will not fall off the stand or if someone bumps the speaker stand...Yankee Ingenuity !!!

This is my first Sonos purchase and the process was somewhat daunting. The Geek squad made it easier and possible to set it up. I am recalling the Squad to help me set up a station that I had on my AT&T device which expired after 4 years of all day listening. The Sonos is an advanced product that I want to explore more and possibly purchase another Sonos for our apartment. Being an advanced senior citizen with failing hearing this has been a positive move to hear some classic jazz on the radio.

Plenty of speaker to go around! This is by far, one of the best speakers I’ve ever purchased! It also plays well with the Home Pod . I was able to put one speaker in the front and one in the back and it plays my play throughout my apartment. I was so excited this worked! Cons My speaker came defective because the plug would not stay in so I had to return it and exchange but overall grade speaker!

Love the sound, but a few annoying things: 1. I find it keeps dropping - have to add again 2. I thought I would have the flexibility to add both Amazon and Google assistant, but you need to choose one.... 3. Sonos just released the SL - which is basically this without the Mic - and it's cheaper should have gone with that 4. Worth a consideration the ikea Symfonisk - seems to work well, but had more issues to pair, and sound quality not quite as good, but half the price. I'm on the Sonos train as the sound is great, so if you already have one, great addition, if not yet down that path - have a look about. (Unrelated, but I have a soundbar which doesn't support airplay - that's annoying)

Setting up was very easy and the app is very easy to use. I first thought this speaker would be a problem without any Bluetooth connectivity, but I was wrong. You are able to listen to music without no interruptions when you get phone calls. The sound is great but it would be better if they were 360 degree speakers like the Apple HomePods. It’s a must have to have two Sonos one compared to having single to get a better audio experience. The highs sounds pretty crisp, but don’t expect to get good bass.

    Good Speakers, buggy software/integration

I bought 3 to add speakers to my SmartThings / Alexa environment. Primary reason was to have speakers integrated because Echo devices don't act as speakers in SmartThings and I wanted to generate alarms/announcements. The speakers themselves are solid and have good sound. Their app/software is the weak point. Setting up the first speaker took over 2 hours. (should have been less than 10 minutes) I went through the setup myself about 6 times, including reset/start-over before giving up and contacting Sonos tech support. They repeated the steps a couple times before digging into my network and determining there were some settings in my Asus router that were interfering. They seemed to have a specific set of instructions for my router as they drove straight to the specific screens in the web interface (factory settings, not something I did). One thing was to turn off the parental controls so if that is something you need it might be a problem for you. Fortunately for me they were no longer needed. They were finally able to get everything working with the first one. Adding the second took about 15minutes on my own as I still had to loop through a reset at least once. The third one went perfect in less than 10 minutes (each speaker went through a software/firmware download - that is the longest part) The integration with my Sirius XM and Spotify accounts was buggy. Each failed the first 2 times I but eventually got XM working. I gave up on Spotify as I don't use it much anyway. I primarily use the Alexa integration for playing music so you don't have to actually set those up in the Sonos app if you are using Alexa. You will if you want to use the Sonos app. Ultimately I would recommend the Sonos stuff. Your setup may go better than mine but be prepared for a bumpy initial setup.

These speakers work great and sound really nice. The only thing I wish they had was the ability to play anything from your phone or tablet. They have to play one of the programs that you can set up on them. They are easy to set up and have a lot of adjustments. They are very easy to pair with other sonos speakers.

purchase was smooth, but install was nightmare. Sonia fines make it clear at time of purchase. i have sonos s1. which required me to spend long time with customer service to reconfigure box for SI app. Sonos needs to do a better job making this known that product are not backward compatible out of the box. it’s a shame the have 2 apps in the first place

We had this for just over a month. We have it connected to ALEXA. But we are yet to try it with google. The flexibility to use both is what made choose Sonos. A few times, ALEXA decides to respond but when we ask it to play songs, it picks up the station but no sound comes out. And today, it did exactly that, but after a few tries, it put the news on and would not obey any other command. But I would say that it works right 95% of the time and it deserved more than the 4 I am giving but less then the 5, which is the next option. I can play stream songs or sounds straight from my iPhone, which was the other reason I chose this. Something else, a big plus: you can buy more and interconnect them, including the TV sound bar, which I find to be super expensive. I which I could give 4 3/4 stars.

Great addition to the Sonos eco system. I would not recommend just buying this one as a stand alone! This speaker is meant to be paired with an another Sonos one, a sub, or wishing a surround system. It can stand alone don't get me wrong but if you are looking for rich bass you should consider pairing it with a Sub Mini.

I purchased two of these to up my audio quality in a few rooms over the amazon echo devices. Good news is they sound amazing, have great build quality and the app works flawlessly. More good news is they link together well and the voice recognition appears to be equivalent to the amazon devices. The bad news...and likely not the fault of Sonos, is that you cannot multiroom amazon devices AND sonos devices so the dream of having the same song playing gently in every room of the house has not been fulfilled. Yes you can multi room sonos devices and yes you can multiroom amazon devices but currently no way to do both at the same time. If this is your wish you should fill your home with one or the other. That said, the speakers are awesome. The setup was easy. I was even able to connect to my NAS server for basically every song I own at a tap. Controlling the volume and where the music is playing is a snap. It does integrate with Alexa (other than multiroom music) so I can control my light and other devices just the same. If you have the coin, it is my opinion this is the best Alexa enabled speaker available for the price. They sound great a short distance from you so if it’s very close to where you might be sitting I’d recommend placing them on the other side of the room. The sound seems fuller the further you get (to a point l) from the speaker. Good luck and enjoy !

    Best Sound System Out There

I went into best buy looking for a system around $800. After listening to quality and pricing I found that the quality of most surround systems was not sufficient for what I wanted and also priced a little higher than expected. After getting a demo of this setup I immediately knew it was what I wanted! Everything about it is great. Voice controls, phone app, and great sound! Only downside was the high cost of about $1650 for the whole system. If you have the money I would get this over anything else out there!
