This is the most high end pair of headphones I've purchased and have been blown. I work in a very noisy office environment and wanted something to help drown out the background. I don’t like over the ear style and these seemed to offer everything I was looking for and more. The noise cancellation features are incredible. All of the humming of the HVAC and general office noise nearly vanish. You can still hear people talking but it is so muted it isn’t an issue. You have the option of letting in some ambient noise if you need to be aware of what’s going on around you but still have the background sounds be a little softer. When using the ambient noise setting you can also set it up focus on people’s voices while again still quieting your surroundings. Since these are earbuds all of the noise cancelling wizardry relies on getting a good seal on the buds Sony included plenty of ear tips. Good news is these are on the comply standard so you can get even more if you need to replace them. Noise cancelling, two big thumbs up. The next feature which far exceeded my expectations was the Hi-Res audio. I feel like I’ve been starving my ears my entire life. The DSEE upscaling is noticeable for music you have on your phone. Taking it to the next level I upgraded my Spotify catalogue to Extreme Quality. It’s so clear. The notes are crisp. I generally listen to classical when working and it feels like in a private concert hall. Around the house I’ve been using these at night I can pump up the sounds and not disturb my neighbors. Rock, Rap, Country, it handles all genres. Great range from highs to lows and clear at any volume that my ears can handle. Also really impressed by the deep bass these offer. For when I’ve made phone calls it’s just as clear as being on my phone. The only drawback anyone could throw at these is the price. They aren’t cheap, but you absolutely get what you pay for with these. The build quality is great, battery life gets me through a few days, audio quality is like a feast for the ears, and the noise cancelling features are something I’ve never experienced like this before. If you want hi-res audio and noise cancelling without some huge cans on your head these are for you. Looking forward to trying these on my next flight!

I did a lot of research on wireless noise canceling headphones. I own a set of beats studio 3 headphones as well. The need for a single headset for phone calls, flights, music, and movies that was wireless, active noise canceling, and earbud design. The sacrifice I had to make was to have a neckband style. I have a large neck (21”) so I was apprehensive about this type being too tight and uncomfortable but these are quite comfortable. Great sound and the ability to customize the sound via the Sony app. Great phone quality on both ends. However, it does pick up background noise from my end to the person on the other end of a call. Example, when traveling to Chicago, the person on the other end couldn’t hear me over the El train arriving at the stop. Other dedicated calling Bluetooth headsets have better noise cancellation in that regard. The biggest drawback is the inability to connect to multiple devices simultaneously. I find myself disconnecting from my phone to switch over to my computer for a Skype meeting. It’s a small frustration, but when pretty much every other Bluetooth allows multiple connections, it seems like Sony missed the mark there. Not enough for me to take anything away from it. Durability: so far I’ve got a few scratches on the metal part of the neck band but these are my every day headphones and get tossed into my backpack a lot, so I’ve expected them to look a little worse already. They expand nice and wide to make putting them on or taking them off easy. The earbuds fit great and come with six different sets to find the best fit. Some foam, some rubberized. Overall I’m very satisfied with these.

I like the sound. I have had a number of other Bluetooth headsets and these sound as good as the others I have had. I wouldn't say better but definitely as good. I will say I paid a good bit more for these than others I have and the noise cancelling feature basically doesn't work. I have tried turning it on and off during different situations and environments and it really doesn't help. The battery life is actually pretty good. It does take a long time to charge though. I would recommend these with reservations due to the price.

I purchased the 1000-x noise cancelling wireless earbuds principally for flying and am pleased with them, having used them many times for flying and while exercising over the six weeks I’ve owned them. Connectivity has been excellent, noise cancellation is good, not perfect. I quickly forget I have them on despite the around-the-neck element of the style. Battery life is as advertised. The adaptive noise cancelling option can be a little annoying in that sound stops for about 2 seconds when it senses you’ve changed environments. I used them mostly with an iPhone and iPad but am glad it also has a wired option to connect to airplane video screens. I have not tried charging except through a computer USB as that is the only option listed in the instructions; would prefer to be able to use a USB adapter plug. The App has adequate control options for me. I purchased a third party protective case separately so I can drop them in my backpack without worry. They do not fold, so a little larger than I’d like. Overall I am very pleased with them and would purchase again.

I've been purchasing the lg tone platinums for years ( probably had 6 or so sets). I'm a landscaper so I don't treat them well but must be available to answer a call at any time. The over the neck style has served me well. The tone platinums sounded pretty good, but recently when lg was in the middle of a lineup change I was forced to look for another brand. WOW. The Sony sounds incredible for music and even people's voice from phone calls that I used to have a hard time understanding is so Crystal clear and rich in tone. These Bluetooth headsets are great. I was not excited to loose the ability to have the retractable earbud cords but the trade-off is not really even worth mentioning when you hear the difference. I am use to paying 200 for the LG platinums so price was only 30 more. Battery life does seem to be a little shorter but I can still go a day not a problem without charging and it's probably because I'm listening to more audio music then I would ever ever done with the LG tones because of how great they sound. The noice cancellation works awesome as well. Highly recommend

Great pair of headphones the battery is large enough to last me a whole work day (8 hrs) at the very least. The extra settings such as noise canceling. My only gripe with the headphones is that the earbuds don't retract when not in use. My previous pair of headphones (Similar to these) could retract the wire/ headphones so that they wouldn't get in the way when not in use. Instead, this pair of headphones has a snap feature to the actual band that goes around your neck. it provides the same feature but it feels less secure.

I love these headpohnes, easy to pack - and not easy to lose unlike in ear headphones.

Bought these to use for airline travel. They have been terrific, especially for long flights. The noise control completely blocks out the airplane noise yet has a setting so you dont miss important announcements. The audio quality is superb. Three other family members bought these and love them too. I love the fact that they wrap around your neck and you don’t have to worry about losing them. So comfortable you will forget you have them on. Comes with several choices for ear plugs but the size already on it was fine. I used these for about 5 hours straight and there was no discomfort.

I wanted to try these because I wanted something for the bus, but I didn't want to walk around the city with a headset someone could pull right off my head. Couldn't believe how well these noise cancel. If you get a good fit in your ear, these will noise cancel on par with headsets. I sit in the back of the bus, and when I throw these on the bus engine noise all but goes away, allowing me to listen to movies and music at a normal volume. Unlike headsets, you may have to push them in from time to time but so be it. As for comfort, I never notice the neck brace at all. I think Sony hit a home run with these.

No air pressure feel with the noise canceling, and with the fitted earbuds you get a great seal and even more isolation. Band is a little thick so the back of your neck may not like it. Battery lasts great and shuts itself off if disconnected from your device.

These headphones are amazing at blocking out sound. I use them all night, every night to block out my husband's snoring, which is as loud as a Harley Davidson in my bedroom revving as hard as possible all night long! I probably would not be sleeping in the same room as him by now if it weren't for these headphones. They are comfortable and the sound quality is excellent. I listen to meditation recordings, peaceful soundscapes and audiobooks all night. They are truly wonderful! You can turn off the noise cancellation as well...

Bought these for my son for Christmas and see him wearing them all the time now while on his laptop. He'd used earbuds and wanted something better but didn't want an over the ear set. These seem to fit the bill. Don't know how they sound. I've bought other Sony headphones and have liked the sound and from the specs this set was comparable to mine. I asked him after three months use how they work and he had no complaints.

These are very comfortable, have excellent nice cancelling, amazing sounding music, and not so good call quality. I ultimately had to return them because I needed something that has superior call quality. I picked up the Jabra elite 65e and am very satisfied with them.

I wasn't sure about wireless headphones because I love my clear audio. I also wasn't sure about the around the neck design. The sound quality and noise cancellation are a revelation. These are amazing headphones. They are also surprisingly comfortable and after getting used to them I do not even notice I am wearing them. My only concern is the design of the wires that connect to the headphones. I worry the wires will wear out before the end of life for them.

I use to own the LG Platinum headphones but I went through 2 sets as the left in ear headphone kept going on. I went back to Best buy looking to get a 3rd set but was told that they discontinued them. So I found these headphones and decided to try them out. I did thorough research before buying these. Loved them so much I bought a second pair for a family member. Primary use has been on flights. The noise cancelling feature is fantastic. I never realized how loud the engine noise was until I was able to silence it through these headphones. So comfortable to wear and easy to use controls make these a real winner. Sound quality is fantastic!

This behind the neck earphone is the best that I'd used. It's great features, competitive with Bose make this earphone a desirable option. The battery is above average with Bose and charge quickly.

This has been a great to use at work everyday (desk job) and I can’t here anything with them on. It will take some time to get use to the earbuds but when you do you will love how they fit.

I have had these more than a year now and I love them. Although the noise cancelling may not be as good as over the head completely cover your ears headphones, for around the neck headphones they work very well. Even in airplanes they work well.
