    something different

I bought this album based on one song, "Don't Wanna Fight". There are other good songs on the album too though. For the life of me, I can't figure out why they named the album after the worst song on it though. Fast forward through that first song, and most of the others are worth listening to, especially if you are in the mood for something a little different. I would buy this album again.

Great old school R&B, soul, funk band. A style that feels big but intimate at the same time. Sound and Color and Don't Want To Fight No More you'll take with you when you turn your player off but leave it on and the group takes you on a journey. I give 'em four stars only because this is their first album that shows they've got a lot more to explore.

While I bought this for "Don't Wanna Fight", there are other great songs on the album as well. Really, the only song I can' stand is the title song. The lead singer of this group is very unique; this is not your typical album . I first heard of Alabama Shakes on PBS's Austin City Limits.

I keep reading reviews of this album that call it weird. Weird, weird, weird. Weird isn't a great descriptor. It's too open. I'd say Alabama Shakes expanded their sound. They took their music further into something new. This is something new, something good, and something that continues to give surprises with each listen.

If I'm honest, I'll say that I don't love it as much as their first album, but that's because I love their first album more than anyone should love anything. It's a little bit of a different sound, but oh so good. They've done it again, making an album comprised of interesting and beautiful music and lyrics.

Alabama Shakes' sophomore release, "Sound & Colour" in my opinion, surpasses their debut musically, artistically, and lyrically. They have really outdone themselves with a newer sound while retaining their identity musically. BRAVO! This album is a must-have for all fans of truly good music.

Like their debut, The Alabama Shakes come at you hard and groovy. You are hooked. You are mesmerized. Thereafter the album mellows out a little too much, but Britney's voice is hot all the way thru. Overall more mature and better than the debut.

Funk rock is the best way I could describe alabamba shakes. It's a really different album. maybe a little too weird for some but their singles "Don't wanna fight" and "gimme all your love" are great songs.

If you like the band, you'll like the CD. I have an older model car without the ability to connect my iPhone or iPod and finding CD's is getting harder and harder. Great band!

This album is a little more quiet than their first album, but it's still really good. I'd recommend it if you liked their first album.

Lead singer is passionate with a rich raucous voice that booms against deft musicianship with a 70's throwback vibe.

After seeing this group on TV I expected a more bluesy album though this was still a good listen.
