For years I told myself I was going to stop collecting the box sets after season nine, because I felt the later seasons were fairly hit or miss. Not long ago I received season 10 as a gift, and while there's certainly some great episodes in 10 I figured if those were combined with the greats of 11 it would make a pretty good season. So that's how I rationalize this purchase I suppose. The episodes of season 11 often get confused with other seasons, but most fans could immediately guess that it takes place after season 9. There are some classic eps here, and some easily forgettable ones as well. Unfortunately, the season felt a bit misbalanced to me with the good early in the season and bad at the end. All this is subjective of course, but I probably won't be watching the forth disc of this box set again; something I couldn't say about any of the other seasons. Also, there's a very definable shift this season in how the jokes are presented; instead of the witty, satirical humor that has been the Simpsons' MO since day one it has began to rely more on the random, off the wall humor that Family Guy has always displayed. I don't make that comparison as an insult to FG, it's just not the Simpsons style. Another area about this collection that has drawn a lot of well-deserved criticism is the packaging. Gone are the plastic pages that usually secure the discs quite well in lieu of accordion-style sleeves that the discs must be pulled out of, increasing the risk of damage and lowering convenience. While it makes more room for Simpsons-related images, and is probably cheaper to make without lowering purchase price, but the practicality and logic of this change is non-existent, aside from the likelihood of increased profits. I daresay that the packaging choice of this season is the main reason it has a lower rating of its pre and post seasons. Aside from the lower quality of episodes and packaging, season 11 will still bring in the laughs, and I don't think it possible for me not to recommend the Simpsons.

Season 11 of The Simpsons is, of course, classic Simpsons entertainment. Great deal for the 4 DVD set.

This season has some great episodes good to have. The product was received in excellent condition.

Awesome buy! A part of the funnier Simpsons when still felt fresh.

The Simpsons 11th season is pretty funny and would be a great gift for any Simpsons fan. Infact one of the most shocking episodes of the series is on this season (when Maude Flanders bites the big one). My complaint is the horrible packaging. The instant I got this home and tried to slip Krusty's head out of the plastic sleeve, the sleeve tore. It's not made very well. And then on the side you have this awful fold out cardboard thing that is hiding all the discs. I was literally stumped for a little while wondering where the actually dvds were hidden. I wasn't very happy to find out they were hiding tightly between the cardboard sleeves. (1) this is a very easy way to scratch the discs (2) it's almost impossible to get the discs out of the sleeve without touching the side of the dvd your not supposed to touch... FOX gets an F for bad packaging... I really hope for season 12 they go back to the old packaging.

This can be considered to be that last great season. Still a lot of humor and some good heart. The bonus features are great. The commentaries alone show that the creators really care about the show

This is actually for my boyfriend and he loves the simpsons. He has all of them up to ten and I have 11 and 12 for him now. He loves the dvds because of the commentary on every episode that is included; he loves to watch those.

This collection of dvds makes the perfect for any simpsons fan. I can not believe the simpsons have been around for so long. CONGRATS! I just love these says on these complete seasons!

Its Great For Any Good Simpsons Fan. Its Got Good, Funny Episodes And Its Just Great. I Love The Episode "The Gift Of Magi" Its Great! Okay I Think I Made My Point.

This season contains not only some of the best episodes, but some of the best quotes ("Save me, Jebus!", "USURPER!", etc.) A must-purchase for everybody!

What a great show. And season eleven is one of their best. I highly recommend it!

The Simpsons' DVDs make a great gift in our family. Their episodes make you laugh at the ridiculous and think about the truths exposed.
