Extremely pleased with the recommendation of the salesman. My issue was wi-fi streaming ability to my basement. My wi-fi modem is on my 3rd floor. The increased speed & coverage is amazing

Easy set up and maintains a very good signal throughout the house. I had a phone/wifi modem from Cox that was absolutely horrible. With premier internet up to 150 mPS, I was lucky to get 15 to 20. I plugged this bad boy in and instantly got my 150 and even exceeded it at times. Very happy with this router. I have 2 computers, multiple tablets, 3 phones, NEST thermostat and smoke detector, an ECHO, an ECHO Dot, a PS3, PS4, XBox1, and XBox360 hooked up with multiple going at any time and have strong signals with all of them. I also like the color lights that show you if you have lost your internet signal. Highly recommend considering this device to anyone.

I purchased this router to replace the Nighthawk x4 that was dropping connections like crazy. While the x4 had a much farther range (down the block) the Onhub covers my entire home and yard with no problems. I haven't had to reboot it for any reason and I have not experienced any connection drops after having it connected for a few months now. The current features are very limited compared to the x4, but the GoogleOn app lets me manage it remotely. This is the router that you set up and it just works. No messing with settings and separate SSIDs for the 2.4 and 5ghz bands. It's one name that changes the connection based on the device needs. Looking forward to future features being added

This is easily the best router I have ever owned. The buffering and dead zones are a thing of the past. This easily covers my spread out ranch and back yard with WiFi. It was a breeze to set up.

Our wifi router was becoming unreliable and I took a chance on this new technology. I had read up on it, but still was uncertain about the way it interfaces through a mobile app. Wow! Instantly noticed my mobile devices speed improve greatly! Having two teenage sons, you can just imagine the bandwidth the my household uses, and this router allows us to control the flow, prioritizing the devices how we want it instead of happenstance. And my wife likes the look of it much better than the older styles with antennas everywhere. Highly recommend!

A Smart Router for the Smart Home

I heard about this router as soon as it was released, so I read all the reviews on the Verge, Cnet and ARS to find out if it was worth the premium price tag. I didn't NEED a new router; I had a year-and-half old mid-range AC Linksys paired with a two-year-old Airport Express but the connection was dropping badly in a back room where the airport was located. I'm streaming Netflix, HBO Now, Amazon and doing some Xbox Live gaming in two rooms so I figured an upgrade in throughput would be helpful. I bought the OnHub because the setup is super simple, and connection problems are self-diagnosing so issues are resolved quickly and easily (if there ever are any issues). It may be an expensive router, but the ability for it to update through firmware in the future makes it worth the price-tag. To be honest, I also bought it because it's nice to look at and I'm a sucker for aesthetics. The only caveat to that- and I didn't knock off points for this- but the nice looks come at a cost to wired connections. It only has one (1) ethernet input. I recommend prioritizing what you're connecting especially if you're gaming and/or have older legacy devices that don't have wireless adapters, otherwise I totally recommend it!

Super easy set up. When all my family is together, there are nearly 20 wireless devices going at the same time. This thing can handle ALL devices at the same time with no loss of speed.

I am pleasantly surprised at how much of a difference this router made after switching from our ISP provided router. We more than tripled our speeds and setup is a breeze on this thing.

I received this as a gift, and was ecstatic. I was reading up on it before, and was planning on buying it myself, so the gift was a pleasant surprise. It's as easy as they say - plug it in, plug in your network, and download the app. I've had a steady network connection, and I like the idea that I can check into my network when I'm away, as we've automated a lot of the house, which requires a steady network connection. Plus, it just looks cool.

Easy setup. Fast. Reliable. Expensive, but it works great. We are able to stream several devices at the same time. I think this was the easiest component setup I have ever done.

Very easy to install, took me about 5 mins, most of the time spot on taking it out of the box. At the time of purchase I had a apple AirPort Extreme with TWC 300mbs. At best on my iPad I received about 90mbs from the master bedroom and since I got this it's about 140mbs average. I have tried a few other devices and returned them simply due to signal drop and speed issue. No issues with slow internet or deadspots. However my place is only 1100sqft. I haven't had a reason to restart or reboot this device since I plugged it in. The router only has one Ethernet output and you would need another router for wired multiple wired connnections.

    The router of my dreams

When I moved into a new 2BR apartment (60-70 wifi networks in range), I needed something that would carry a strong, high-speed signal through the length of the unit, and out onto the porch. The ac1200-type router provided by my cable company wouldn't even carry halfway down the hall. I tried an extender, and that was a complete flop. The Google Onhub solved all my problems. It is a breeze to set up. I'm getting the advertised speeds. The iOS app is useful. And finally, it looks cool sitting on a table top.

After upgrading my router with Optimum I was still experiencing Wi-Fi dead spots at home and came in the BB store to buy a Wi-Fi Extender. The Best Buy Rep said that an extender wouldn't work and recommended this item would absolutely solve my problem. After installing at home, I had the same problem so I returned this and bought an extender (which BTW, works fine and solved the problem). Don't get me wrong, this is a fine product in all aspects. (Note: if you replace your Optimum router with this one, Optimum does not guarantee to support this or any third party router). The only reason I only gave it 4 stars is it's expensive. But if a router upgrade is what you need and this one falls within your budget, go for it.

I am very happy with this router. The hardest part of the installation was figuring out how to open the box and get the cover off! It really helps to watch an available install video or two just to know exactly what you will be doing, but it was very easy and worked right away - no surprises. Pros: - Fast, simple install and activation. - Remote mobile app is handy. - My speeds are consistently 85-89 MB (cable provider). - Adding devices is a breeze. Cons: - Two short ribbon ethernet cables provided, if you need to use the standard round style for more distance, it is a tough fit into the unit. - Short power cord prohibits top shelf location. Finally, not sure what goes on with the magical syncing of the cell phone to router during install, but have concerns when my cell contract is up soon and I will be switching phones and provider. Cannot find information regarding this kind of change and hoping I don't have to reset the whole system to factory settings and start over!

The Google OnHub is a breeze to setup; has a very good range and is attractive too. I purchased the the TP-Link version of the Google OnHub after a couple of days of research. It looks noting like most routers and and can be placed in plain view whit most people not even noticing it. It has great range and good WiFi performance close to the edge of its signal area. It was incredibly easy to setup and manage. I'm only giving it four stars, because it's lacking a few advanced features that I needed in my network, like detailed QoS and DMZ support. Great router for 90% of all users.

Lots of routers are fast, but fast, stable and providing dense coverage across a 3 floor townhouse, this has always been a challenge. I gave up long ago and the monstrosities from Linksys, Asus, etc... with 3 giant antennas and runway lighting and went to an Airport Extreme. And while not perfect it was... adequate. So I was skeptical when one day Google just announced the OhHub and figured it would equal the Airport at best. I am happy to report I was wrong. The antenna array on this thing is amazing and the range is unparalleled, I get coverage in the far corner of my third floor and outside the garage on the lower level. I don't get bandwidth sags in the evening as all the neighbors come home and the many other routers in range of mine go into use. How good is it, stuff that I always insisted needed a wired connection are now on WiFi and having zero issues. 2x tablets 2x smartphones 1x Windows 10 laptop Nest Thermostat 3x Lifx bulbs FireTV stick Sony SmartTV Apple TV (2015) Chromecast Audio PS4 (wired port) The app is simple but easier to navigate and gives far better control than Apple's AirPort app. I've been doing IT support for 17 years, when I get home I want my stuff to just work. The OnHub delivers exactly what I was hoping for and then some. Five stars, would buy again.
