We wanted to back everything up and this fit the bill. It's a decent size (although I wish it were smaller) but it doesn't take up that much space on my desk. So far, it's doing what it's supposed to do. Time will tell how long it lasts (had another one die on me, but I did have it for many years.)

Nothing but spectacular! Faster then my old WD hard drives on my Omen gaming desktop pcs. More then enough space for just about anything and everything! Can't beat the price either!!! WD You guys have outdone yourselves. Highly recommend!

Have hd no issues. easy to set up. works well for Xbox console and is alot cheaper in price then ones that say they are made for Xbox.

Bought this for my sisters computer to use for backup. Large size small price.

It's been a year and a half now and it's still going. Use it to store movies, videos and music. Only thing I'm not really fond of is the time it takes to wake from sleep. About 30 seconds after it's not used it goes to sleep. Takes another 30 seconds to wake. So if you haven't saved in a few seconds the drive has to wake. You'll think you computer is frozen but it's not, it's waiting on the drive to wake then it saves. Very annoying to me. Makes it seems as though something is wrong. Wish I knew this before purchasing. It's basically a desktop hard drive in a case, so it needs power and takes time to access just as powering a desktop. If not for this I would give it 5 stars. But as a hard drive for storage it works well as expected. Would work great as a backup to a backup. No need to access frequently. If you need the speed I would stick with the smaller HD drives or solid state drives.

I got this to update my old myBook from nearly 6 or so years ago. I instead decided to use it on my Xbox1. Works great. Plug and play, no issues... Took longer getting it out of the box and the wires ran to their respected places than it did for the Xbox1 to format it and get it going. These myBooks are top quality storage solutions and this is my third purchase of one. I now have a 1tb, 3tb and a networked 4tb. 10/10.

All my current drives (both internal and external) are WD drives. Bought this one to match an older version of the My Book, where I keep all my personal stuff. This drive will be a backup that I keep safely stored, and use every other week to backup my current one in case it fails (as it is about 2-3 years old). So far I'm seeing the same reliability that I've always experienced with WD drives.

Now that the new update for ps4 allows installation of games on external hard drives, I decided to get this one and it does not disappoint at all. Install all my games without worrying if running out of space... for the time being
