Very Good hard drive great storage fast transfer speed

Bought this as external drive for xbox Plug in and works great Havent had any issues at all

I use Lightroom Classic for my photo management and I have all photos on WD My Passport for all my photos which is a portable drive and much smaller. I need to back that drive up so I purchase the my book which sits on my desk. It's working like a charm.

I go through hard drives - filling them - way too often and so look for models that are reliable and good price. This one does the job. I remember paying $1500 for a 5 megabyte HD.

This is the back up to my back up hard drive and it’s a great value for the price. It does not take up a lot of room, sleek and looks pretty good sitting at my desk top. I highly recommend it

This device is Great for backup storage. Can program to auto backup with no problems. Save a lot of time. Great for the price. Never thought I would be able to pay for a storage device this large!

my book 4TB its really good so far for all my music and videos no problem and what I like about it is that I can use it with my windows laptop and Mac laptop.

We need some extra space to free up our PC and WD has always been a reliable brand for us. Easy to use, looks great. Exactly what we needed.

I purchased this exclusively to function as a backup drive for my Xbox One's paltry 500 GB internal hard drive. It was very easy to set it up and the transfer speeds are very quick. I wish this drive was powered via USB, but it has an external AC adapter, so you'll need an available outlet for this drive.

4tb at decent price with included software. I liked the old software better as it gave you more control but it works for auto backup.

I bought a 500GB XB1-S and filled the storage quickly so this 4TB unit was just what I needed and better than I expected. The XB1 knew exactly what to do when I plugged it in and the USB 3.0 is super fast.

Great for extra storage for my PS4. Easy to reformat it. Just plug it in to the PS4 and the PS4 does it for. Now I don't have to worry about running out of storage for my games for a long time.

This external hard drive works effortlessly with a Windows 10 PC. Plug it into a USB port. You can use the native Windows 10 backup software or the backup program that comes with the drive.

Ideal external drive for photo/video storage with Adobe’s suite like Photoshop. You can work on your photos with no lag. I have used to with audio recording software as well. I’ll buy another one.

This hard drive is fast and quite, I use it for a Plex server storage attached to Mac mini, it is my main movies storage and when. I stream them in the house or remotely respond very well with no lag.

Time to replace my desktop unit. Again, this is one of the best choices. Works great and lasts at least 2 or 3 years before needing replacement. Probably lasts longer but who wants to lose 3.5TB?

Got my 4tb WD My Book External hard drive back in July of 2019. It's now Late May, 2020. Haven't had a single problem with it. Best buy didn't have what another store had to price match, so, they found this Western Digital in their store and dropped it to match the others price. Transfer rate is about 140mb ps. (About 10mb slower than the Elelements Western Digital that I have. Why? From what I understand it's the encrypting that goes on?? Where the Elements Western Digital doesn't encrypt?? (Please, don't quote me on that..) Transfers just fine, quiet, and reliable.

Your customer service was fantastic. The guys at the Mansfield MA store were friendly, helpful and very understanding. Kudos to them!! Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the product I bought. I bought a Western Digital External Drive (MyBook) as a backup. After it ran for a few days, it wouldn't back up. After long time on phone with Apple and then multiple times on chat with WD. I learned that WD drives need to be plugged into the wall not a power strip (the configuration of my desk prevents that) and can't go through a USB hub. Not necessary, but was a convenience. IOW, WD cuts cost by running at the ragged edge. WD said that unless I could do those two things they couldn't deal with the problem. Consequently, I had to return the purchase and would have bought a disk from a different manufacturer, but the store didn't have anything else in stock. So I went to Costco and bought a Seagate drive that works fine. I would expand the vendors the stores stock and consider warning other customers of the limitations of WD drives.
