This was purchased to add to an existing external drive that was nearly full. I did not install the automatic back up program so I can add files when I want and transfer only what I want. I haven't had any issues with this unit and do recommend it.

Plug and play, fast reads and writes. Runs cooler than other drives I've had as well.

Great little device. I use for my ripped movies so we don’t need to keep using the disc to watch the movie. It is very easy to use and setup

Easy plug and play drive. Software can be useful to check the health of the drive, but otherwise basically works as a large usb drive. Speeds are quick and offers a sleep mode to keep the drive from running all the time.

We had read reviews prior to the purchase and had learned to definitely NOT use the pre installed software. Deleted the software and it has worked perfectly!

I have had an older model and after five years I noticed it was getting full. So I ordered another one to take the place of my old one which still works.

Great purchase, I am using this as an external hard drive for my PS5 it works great. it only turns on when the PS5 is powered on which is great. Quick access to the content on the drive, superb!

Great external hard drive for storing data. Also, it has enough memory to backup Windows 10, which is a plus. The external hard drive is easy to use and is recognized immediately by Windows 10.

Perfect drive for backing up my NAS drive. Easy to connect. You may need to reformat to another file system like FAT32 or NTFS. Default is exFAT. Not all OS read exFAT.

This is a smaller more portable version of the MyBook. This works as well and it's a third of the price on sale. Perfect for Laptops. All my internal and external drives are WD, 12 of them running now for over five years, never failed, they make great products.

Excellent! Newly designed case is aesthetically pleasing! Fast transfer of files. Encrypted security included and optional password protection. I also have the older model (6TB). Still working great after 3 years of use (the older model).

Nowadays it's necessary to have ample storage space, I use this to store my games from steam and gog( I already have over 200) and may get a bigger one at this rate haha!, anyway, it hasn't failed once and is also my games load very fast!

I attached this hard drive to the USB port on my router and it now serves as my network accessible storage. It provides great performance in this configuration allowing me to transfer as much as 38 million bytes per second.

Always love using Western Digital Drives and highly recommend this one! Also, was very impressed with Best Buy's curbside pickup when I was traveling with my dog. Made it easy to pick up the drives!
