A simple plug n play drive. Plugged it into my HP Envy laptop and my Windows 10 OS recognized it immediately. The capacity is outstanding. 4 terabytes is more than I will ever need but for the price, it was worth the overkill in size. Ran the backup software, which was installed on the drive, and backed up my system in 15 minutes. Also backed up my other system on the same dive and there is still plenty of room left. Great little drive and I'm very happy with it. A big thumbs up.

I use this to expand the storage of my laptop when needed, and it is perfect! Setting up auto-backup was simple, and it otherwise works just like I'm browsing any other folder. I will say that it didn't work properly when I tried using it as a network hardrive by connecting it to my Netgear Nighthawk X4S. It worked in concept, but wasnt fully functional when connected yo my router. So if that's what you're looking for, go with a high capacity flash drive - that's the best solution if have found for that.

I take a ton of photos for my business and wanted some peace of mind in the event that my phone or electronics were damaged. Kudos to Andrae, for his help in picking out the right product for my needs at a great price. This is why I continue to shop at this location and not on Amazon, nothing beats talking to a person who is knowledgable can explain your options. I would highly recommend this product for anyone who needs a small portable back up device with a ton of storage.

One of the best external Hard Drives you can get for the money. Originally bought one for travelling while working, ended up buying another for my personal Xbox at home, I leave it plugged in and it starts up when the xbox does, i have never had any hesitation with it, It never gets hot and is small so easy to store. Traveling with it is also nice its very slick and can go into almost any laptop case.

Have been Keeping my eye on a 4TB external drive for quite some time. What I saw the sale price on this I read reviews myself and couldn’t pass it up. Pretty much plug and play, very easy set up suits all my needs.

I've had two of these for a couple months now. I use them as double redundancy for film/video work. The USB 3.0 is perfect for my needs, and they take up next to no space on my desk. I haven't needed to travel with them yet, but their size is excellent to just slip in my laptop bag's zipper pocket.

Very fast, very reliable hard drive. Small size with huge capacity. I will buy another for my other machine.

Simple and easy device where you literally just plug in and use. I do recommend accessing and reading the "readme" file within the hard drive just to understand the different features that this hard drive provides.

Tons of storage and easy to hook up, but dealing with the software interface upfront made it more difficult (at least with a Mac). Ended up deleting and reformatting to use with Mac. Then it worked just fine. Sleek design if anyone is focused on that.

I use Adobe Light Room CC and have over 200,000 pictures in my catalog. People have been telling me for years to back them up and I finally listened. I'm not much of a computer person otherwise, but the back up was simple and I actually made two copies. The system continues to back up my pictures automatically once a week. It can be set for the time and frequency you prefer. Altho I've never lost anything from a computer, I feel much better with this. It also frees up a lot of space in my system.

This external storage device has the perfect amount of space for all the pictures I take. I don't want to bog down my computer so I put them on this device and there is more than enough space. Love this purchase.

This is the second external drive we have bought. My husband has one and my sister in law wanted one for Christmas. We noticed there was not a big difference in price so we got her the 4 gig one. She loved it!

Easy to use out of the box. 4T is a good size for my large photo collection.

These devices are a great way to both off-load files from your hard drive. Freeing space on your hard drive and speed up accessing your files, so removing files that you don't use regularly can improve performance! Also, these are a great way to backup your files and protect yourself from the loss or damage of the files. There are 2 types of computer users, those who have already lost data and those who will! So protect yourself by copying your important files to these drives!

This HD is an excellent option for someone that needs to have their info available on the go. I travel all the time for work purposes and the portable drives are a great option, they don't take much space to store in my luggage, they don't require a power cord, you just plug to your PC with the USB cable and if you get them on sale is not that expensive. The WD passport comes with security added, you can password protect your drive.

I’m using it for my PS4 and it works great. You can choose where you want game file be installed, PS4 or Passport. All my saves go to PS4 so even if something happens to the drive I won’t loose my saves

This 4 terabyte USB external disk drive is small physically for its data capacity, is based on a notebook drive type and thus is powered over USB. While it offers fairly fast data transfer, I wish that SSD (solid state) external drives were more prevalent as they provide much higher speeds, but this little drive does a decent job with its spindle-based hard disk. And it's not as large as many external drives on the market, despite a huge 4 terabyte capacity. I'm really pleased with it.

Got it in a deal @ $100. Ample of storage space with such a small size.

I've used WD external hard drives for a number of years and when it came time to upgauge, this was a natural choice. It was easy to reformat and seems to be holding up in its use as a Time Machine disk.

Huge storage, very small, stays cool, no noises. I love the looks also. It can be used for gaming as well.
